Here's how to perform a proper single leg box jump:
Set up the Box: Begin by setting up a sturdy box or platform at an appropriate height. Choose a height that challenges you but still allows for proper form and technique. Ensure that the box is stable and secure.
Starting Position: Stand facing the box with one foot on the ground and the other leg lifted slightly off the ground. Keep your arms relaxed by your sides or slightly bent at the elbows for balance.
Preparation: Bend your standing leg slightly, engage your core muscles, and maintain an athletic stance with your weight centered over your foot.
Jump: Generate explosive power by pushing off the ground with your standing leg. Propel yourself upward and forward, extending your hips, knees, and ankles.
Land on the Box: Aim to land on top of the box with the same leg that initiated the jump. Focus on a soft and controlled landing, ensuring that your foot is securely positioned on the box.
Stabilize and Reset: Immediately upon landing on the box, stabilize yourself by ensuring your foot is fully on the box and maintain your balance. Then, step or hop back down to the ground with the same leg.
Repeat: Perform the single leg box jump for the desired number of repetitions. Switch legs and repeat the exercise with the opposite leg.
