My hometown boys from Winnipeg, Canada 🇨🇦
This album came out in 1970.
The story behind this song is Randy Bachman ( guitarist ) and Burton Cummings (Vocalist, piano) had both written a shorter song so they decided to combine the songs together.
Other Songs
These Eyes
Albert Flasher
Undun
Sour Suite
American Woman from the reunion tour live in Winnipeg
Cheers
I just saw them a few months ago. What a great way to begin your journey into Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman. Give a listen to these other Guess Who songs:
These Eyes
Laughing
American Woman
Albert Flasher
Share The Land
Undun
A great band, some more great ones i always loved would be These Eyes and No Time!
This song came out in 1970.
The nostalgia is giving me life! I haven't heard these songs you have been playing in DECADES and it takes me RIGHT back! This came out in 1970' Just sit back and relax with these - don't think, feel.
Try Grand Funk Railroad - "I'm Your Captain" - 1970
There Canadian 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
try "no time", "undone", "these eyes" and "american woman" by the guess who.
Burton Cummings of The Guess Who is one of my favorite voices in Rock. This was on the radio all the time for years and I had the albums and it was on their greatest hits album, and they had so many incredible songs.
The song is quite cleverly crafted because it's clearly the same song it's just that it kind of shift gears in part two and some things are somewhat different but related, but then it starts wrapping in elements from the first part and they treat it almost like a round.
One of their hits that I bet you would absolutely love is called She's Come Undone. It's really smooth and has great singing and I bet you would love it.
Late 80s?,? I don't think so...
So glad I grew up wirh such an astounding range of outstanding music during the 60's and 70s. And what a joy to see new people discover that greatness.
There's a great live performance of another favorite, Undun. Other classics are American Woman, No Time, and These Eyes.
I saw them in concert back in 1979. They opened for John Kay and Steppenwolf. What an awesome concert!
Sorry Ace but you were a little bit off on the release date of this song. It was 1970. Love your reactions! Keep up the good work!
They are from Winnipeg. Manitoba Canada.
1. American Woman .
2. Undun .
Masterful .
More talent than technology, early 70s I think
Had a good amount of hits. Soooo underrated. Check out their album "Live at the Paramount" especially the later versions which have more of the concert. Crapola. Such great rock and roll. Burton Cummings, the singer, can sing anyfuggingthing, for sure.
Guess Who eventually morphed into Bachman Turner Overdrive (BTO)...you should check them out as well.
Not really..........actually the only member of The guess Who who went on to BTO was Randy Bachman......................Both great bands indeed.
@@Newfie-zc7ug Hence the word I used..."morphed", meaning "a complete change of form, structure, or substance". I agree though, both GREAT bands. 🙂🙂
We in Canada do have a lot of great bands ! American Woman is another great song by The Guess Who.. also checkout Triumph " Lay it on the line " live version " also live version of Triumph " Fight the good fight, April Wine " Roller" and " I like to Rock, and anything by Rush!!! They're all great Canadian bands
Canadian gems here .
That's a Rhodes piano that has that sound.
Late 60s. Early70s. Lol
A HALLOWEEN MUST SEE/HEAR classic song & video,, The Guess Who- Shakin' All Over" ~ Skelton Dance video..TRUST ME!!🎃👻
Saw The Guess Who this past summer. But there were no original members. Still was a good show. Loved Burton Cummings.
Music was a million times better back then.. it’s just common listening sense 🤷♂️
