Your trees are looking good. My pinkerton is getting close to flowering. My other trees buds are starting to swell but no flowers yet. I am probably a few weeks to a month behind your trees. Good news, I caught a rat yesterday. One down, thousands to go. Ha ha. I hope you get many fruit on your Zutano. My Zutano took last year off too. I hope I will get many Zutano this year. Merry Christmas Sam. Shaping up to be a good 2024. My Pinkerton has been flowering for some time now but no fruit that I can see. It's a really small tree though.

Hey REM - Good to hear from you. Your trees are looking great! Lots of flowers, and lots of fruit. I have a few flowers starting on my JB, and also on the Bacon which is right next to the JB. None of my other trees have flowers as of yet, but they are all quite young. Interesting use of the plastic bags - kind of like a scarecrow effect. Merry Christmas and a safe New Years!!
Flowers are good, hopefully some fruit. 2024 will be great.

I will, I’m getting a lot of the pre flower flushes on all my trees.. except my bacon, but the mexicolas are always earliest of all my trees. That Edranol is a beast on Dusa 👍🏼 can’t wait for the next Brokaw order 😅

My Bacon, GEM and Reed are starting to show flower buds. My neighbor's zutano is pushing flower buds too.

Nice !! Love the way the Zutano is pruned...or is that natural. So much light getting into all parts of the tree I think that helps with flowering. Do you have a pruning video?

I live in San Diego and my pinkerton, fuerte, hass have already some open flowers. Gem also has developing buds but haven't opened yet. I pruned most of the flowers since my trees are below 4 feet.
I'm visiting family in San Jose, my brothers 3 feet tall hass but twice as wide as my hass hasn't gotten swollen buds yet.
Good to hear we are all experiencing the same thing now. I'm still waiting for my Fuerte to flower, if it doesn't do it this year, I'm going to top work it to something else. Thanks for watching!
@@AvocadoTalk I bought my fuerte from Maddox nursery back in August 2023. I up pot to 25g fabric pot. It's probably around 4 feet tall right now. Need to plant in ground soon.
I heard fuerte can be hit or miss. You might get a dud that doesn't flower/fruit.
@@geeyoupee That's what I'm worried about. Maybe I got one of those duds. Maddock has been good for me too.
My zutano are preparing to flower also way up in Fresno county but I hate to see it so early as flowers may open when too cold for bees and even if set any fruit a freeze in fed will likey destroy any crop, we've had a mild winter also up to this point.
For your squrils use poisen, box traps, or leg traps
I am worried if we get a freeze, hopefully not.
Feliz Navidad ✌🎅🥑 I got my 1st clonal rootstock its a HASS from monrovia I pinched it back in August/September while I was was working at the retail nursery and finally decided to purchased it when it went into flowering.

@@AvocadoTalk idk our monrovia rep was not familiar with the term clonal rootsock but recalled being briefed on their avocados being double grafted. I called monrovia to investigate and they confirmed they were clonal. I was so excited I forgot to ask the follow-up question of what type of rootstock. I've been wanting one and thoughts I would have to drive down to SoCal to get one

What’s your opinion of the most productive clonal rootstock? I’d do it over would you plant only clonal?
Trees are looking good. My Jan Boyce buds are also starting to sell up. One question? Will stop fertilizer now that the flowering process begins? Thanks. On another topic I'll be bluefin fishing in April again. Wish me luck.
Yes you can still fertilize but look for and use low nitrogen and high phosphorus. So NPK something like 5-15-5 or 0-10-10 .

OUT of all your tress which one do you think produces the best? We are in Chino. We want to buy about 10 more tress to hopefully sell some locally in coming years.
If you are looking to sell I would recommend Gem, Reed, Hass. Good producer and tasting. If you want boutique than there are a lot of different unique and excellent tasting like Jan Boyce. Good luck

My gwen started flowering a few weeks ago. It's young tree about 2 yrs old. I see a few tiny baby avocado's starting. Does that mean it's done flowering? or will it flower as usual in spring? Thanks and Merry Christmas
It could flower again, I've seen some of mine flower multiple times. Gwen does a good job of setting fruit from my experience. If it flowers it tends to set fruit. Hopefully my Gwen flowers again, one of my favorite tasting fruit.
I am in deep South Texas and my little cado and Pinkerton are flowering. my Gem , Hass and Sharwill are not.
I just hope we all don't get a freeze. So far it has been a warm winter for you guys also?

I'm in banning and haven't had frost yet this winter, but I have flower buds on everything, its an awesome early flowering year, hope it Doesn't freeze, bacon, Jim bacon, reed, zutano, joey, holiday, stewart, mexicola with fruitlets, sharwil, nabal, lamb hass, edranol, Palo d oro, gwen, pinkerton, oro negro, gem, super hass, fantastic, lila, poncho, wurtz,
