"usually used for jazz"? Where would you get that idea? I remember when the Breadwinner, Deacon and Preacher came out and the notion that they were considered jazz guitars is, well, way off at best. It would have been nice if this demo had given some idea of what the guitar sounds like.
Sorry. NOT for "jazz". If so, by who? I'm _really_ curious here... I was a rock player back in the '70s, also just getting into Jazz via the Fusion of the day: Return to Forever (Bill Connors), Eleventh House (Larry Coryell), Mahavishu Orchestra (McLaughlin), Jean Luc Ponty (Daryl Steurmer), Philip Catherine, early Bill Frisell... Not only did I never see anyone connected with jazz playing the (admittedly cool) Breadwinner, but sad to say, I don't even recall many _rock_ players using one a whole lot either. (OK. None I can recall besides, um, maybe David Cassidy?) Really, I always thought those Ovation solidbodies would've made for at least cool stage guitars in a rock concert or later in videos (MTV), but I also never saw one in stores that I can recall (and I lived just outside NYC back then) although there were usually plenty of Ovation acoustics. (Ovation acoustics _were_ used in jazz, however. Larry Coryell was the most prominent player I can recall.) Nice demo, by the way. Just wish it were a bit longer with a few more styles and. sounds demonstrated. That being said, I would love to give one of these Breadwinner reissues a try sometime. Thanks for reissue, Eastwood.
Love the guitar and the performance!
Fun fact: Ace Frehley used a Breadwinner on the first KISS record.
Great Demo! Love it!
Holy crap that was amazing!
oh my that was great
Anyone know the fretboard radius on these?
If Ovation had called this guitar the Alien Xenomorph and in olive drab it would have sold millions.
I was not expecting that tone! These guitars were usually used for Jazz.

I agree. The Breadwinner might have been the most versatile guitar ever. Wish I had bought one back in the day.
@@wileym Me too. I always thought they were so cool!

@@larryh.3173 Amanda Monaco and anyone else who knows how to play.
Regalamela xD
Sería buena idea hacer un sorteo :)
So processed that I have no idea what the guitar's actual tone is like. Waste of time. Just review crunchy af amps instead.
nowhere in this video it says review so maybe try to turn it down a notch buddy 😂
