Alexandra, having grown up in and around less than orderly homes, you taught me how a clean home can be made cozy and warm. I always thought clean homes had to be sterile and austere and /definitely/ without fun. I’ve been taking your lessons to heart for the 4 years I’ve been watching you. I’m a forever fan, and forever grateful. Thank you! P.S. please also never change your theme music. It makes me so happy 🥰
I agree with this comment and I also really love the music! It’s so cheerful. I’m not sure who picked it but they did a great job. The editing is always great in these videos!
I love when the men are super into the decor! This guy looked super happy, more so than the girl. And the decoration in this one was much more gender inclusive than others. Not too “girly” and flowery. Loved it!
I would love to see longer videos of the makeovers, with the thrifting of furnitures that you find and put in these videos. It would be great to see the process that you guys went through to find these thrifted furniture (aside from graham’s amazing contribution), rather than just showing the furniture in the video. That said, love your content, and want to see more behind the scenes and the efforts made when making these amazing makeovers. Guess what I’m saying is that I cant get enough of you guys! Haha. ❤
Yes! If these videos were 1.5hrs I would be THRILLED. Some of us design-obsessed viewers want to see the whole process of choosing fixtures, furnishings and accessories ☺️
if you don’t already follow XoMacenna and XoMacenna vlogs, you should! that’s exactly what she does.. she has her well put together channel and uploads every other sunday (usually every sunday but she’s about to have a baby❤) and then on Tuesday and thursday she uploads on the vlog channel of all of the behind the scenes and her week in between videos! absolutely my most favorite channel on youtube
Amazing makeover, as always!! But the reason I keep coming back each time it's because of the amazing team. I love how it's not just Alexandra's channel, but the whole team's. Everyone's personality shines through their role in the makeover, even James's living away shines through with his hilarious commentary through his editing. Y'all bring a smile to my face and make my Saturdays so cozy.
Yes, I completely agree with this! Alexandra knows how to share the spotlight with the talented members of her team, and the whole channel is better for it
When I see white walls in the beginning, I say hmmm, cold looking. Then a white couch, hmmm. But by the time you are finished adding all the touches and features, I say,"yes! it's lovely, warm cozy and eclectic. Another great makeover.
I feel the same way-Cloud White most of the time. White walls only work, imo with white furniture and lots of natural light. Would love to see her use something with a little touch of color, and weight. Doesn't have to be much but there are so many beautiful choices. I love the Farrow and Ball brochure for inspo!
@@Stacey721 I guess for rentals sometimes white is best and Alexandra is right a fresh coat makes it feel clean and refreshed. And by the time she's finished and adds all the accessories, furniture etc it's very nice. But I'm with you, I like my color. Even if it's an accent wall. She's done some great paint choices along the way too.
Just a suggestion. If you hung the curtains from curtain clips, it would make the curtains much easier to operate, reduce the space they take up when open so you get more light, make the curtains look more luxe, and you could have the two curtains in the corners hung half on the end rods and half on the center rod, so the “elbows” would pretty much disappear because they’d be covered by the curtain clips and the fabric. ;)
She’s used curtain clip quite a lot in the past. I like the curtains the way they are. But she could also curtains with grommets. They’re easy to open and close.
Ok, I haven't even gotten to the end of the video yet, but I have to say ALEXANDRA THAT LEMON-PATTERENED DRESS IS SO GORGEOUS ON YOU!!! The puff sleeves, the cinching at the waist, the color, all just chef's kiss. Omg and with the gold hoop earrings!! You nailed a perfect fit with this Parisian makeover
Alexandra, I love you! Like so much! Buttt, not every room calls for scallops and wavy lines, that's very modern, I feel like some French style wooden/marble/brass tables would have been 🤌
Nice! Good job! …. regarding the coffee table, it looks nice, but it’s always a pet peeve of mine to have something that big with no drawers, cabinets, or any kind of inside storage. What are some of the furniture manufacturers thinking? Storage is ALWAYS a hugely sought-after “thing”, especially concealed storage!
I think that sometimes, those type of coffee tables are made with a large house in mind - a house that has a lot of storage areas (rooms) that wouldn't need every furniture to store stuff in.
@@theredheadsaidNYC I agree about the room needing more of those warm wood tones! I imagined something in the same wood tone on the chase side of the sofa, but a wood coffee table would have helped to pull those materials and colors across the room too
I totally thought the white furniture was going to read far too contemporary for the lovely French Provincial-inspired dining corner, but that mirror and the gold touches and frilly bits pulled it all together. That peel and stick molding really does such a great job in making a space look grand. I love this one!!
Beautiful room! I know the more modern side table and coffee table are in right now but I would’ve went with some thrifted warm wood tables to make it even more cozy. Total preference though!
Adorable! Interesting, how the husband was more vocal than the wife. Maybe he has more of an eye/detail of art than he even realizes! Have a blessed day and a fab weekend!! xxoo
I know article is a sponsor but the coffee table and side table would’ve been so good to get wooden textures as thrifted finds. Also, curtains were a miss. Should’ve used rings or pleats. But everything else is stunning and as always, love the team ❤
Hi from Wales. Uk. Love your makeovers. I was hoping Graham and team would fabricate a mock ornate carved white marble mantlepiece\fireplace surround to hide the brick one and accentuate the French style.
speaking of 'classic', what about that fireplace mantel? I kinda got the message that they didn't have time for it, but I'm a big fan of mantels, so it seems like a missed opportunity for some re-design and good props.
First of all, Matthew is adorable!! I mean they both are - but I really appreciated how into the whole project he was & how observant he was of all of the details & changes around the room! The room turned out beautiful! I wasn't sure I was on board w/the number of picture frame moldings you guys installed - I was thinking larger & fewer - but in the end it looked good. That mirror is a beauty! And what a pretty radiator they have! The AG team brought this space to a whole new level & gave your clients just what they were hoping for!
Alex, that is your clothing style! Cinched at the waist, flared skirt, hair pulled straight back and up, square neck, puffed sleeves for overall balance, that look on you turns on a dime! Bravo!
Love the addition of the credits at the end. Love that youre so inclusive and celebrate the whole village that puts these out. Its been so exciting to see your crew and design style evolve over time.
One of my favorite makeovers! The table cloth, gingham, was misplaced. Gingham is for kitchen dining, this is a dining location. I’m suggesting, floral or damask, anything but gingham. ❤
FYI, for anyone wanting to repair furniture with dings/scratches. Old English has a dark and a light liquid scratch cover-up. It works GREAT!. You can even use it on wood floors. …. Key takeaways points though, are: -every few months you have to repeat the process. -keep the rag/cloth//towel you use to apply the liquid onto items, in a Ziploc baggie for future uses. -keep the bottle in a Ziploc baggie, as the cap does Not prevent liquid from the open top from rolling down the sides, so, you want to prevent any dribbling overtime from inside the cap from coming down and getting onto whatever shelf or drawer place you have the bottle stored at. So, keep the bottle in a Ziplock baggie too, -and store bottle standing upright ! My parents used this product when I was a kid, and I use it too. It also re-moisturizes wood furniture that is looking dull, tired or faded from over time, or from being in lots of direct sunlight.
Howard's (who make the truly excellent Clean and Wax) also have a restoration wax line in colours specifically matched to wood types, and they work brilliantly. You do not have to repeat the process.
I feel like this looked more early American than french. I liked the tablecloth over the round table, plus all the candle holders, that was cool. Looks nice overall. I am not a fan of the blue curtains. Maybe a very pale blue and white cotton gingham would have been better. They clearly wanted a darker beige wall tone by their inspiration pics, and you probably should have used that. What you used pretty much is white. Beige would have set off the white couch better. I don't like the dark bookcase right next to the dark fireplace. Since the fireplace is dark, the bookcase should be lighter. Plus lower too. I liked the different pillows on the couch.
I cannot wait for the teen room makeover. My son just turned 15. He has a rare sleep disorder called Klein-Levin Syndrome. He sleeps 70% of the time. The rest of the time he is online with his friends or doing his schoolwork. (We have to homeschool because he would miss too much school.) He has a small (9x12) bedroom (bigger than mine). I really want to makeover his space to be more cozy. He loves black and grey (and surprisingly a touch of yellow). I am really hoping for some cool ideas. Just when i think I know what you are going to do, you surprise me! Keep up the amazing work!
I’m also a big fan…bought the article couch! Live in Georgia USA in an rv! And it’s not a camper…it’s our tiny apartment❤️ love watching all your makeovers❤️
Wall of windows is a must for Parisian and Nordic. Ceiling medallion, picture moldings, white paint, and art are chef’s kiss. The mantle is not Parisian vibe.
OMG! Peel & Stick molding. Rod corners, awesome. Booze. In art college when we had to hang the senior show in the gallery, we were taught to always hang on 2 nails, the wire should be 1/3rd distance down from the top of the frame and the nails should each be 1/3rd distance in from left and right frame sides. It will hang straight and reduces the weight of the artwork on the nails. This redo is AWESOME! ❤ Shirley
It's so crazy that all my favorite youtubers are doing the Wayfair stuff!! Caroline Winkler, Ariel Bisset, Becky from TSG, and now you! HOW COOL! Congrats
Great makeover! It has the Parisian vibe the couple wants but it isn’t ultra feminine, which could easily happen. That curtain rod elbow piece is a game-changer … such great find!!
Beautiful makeover. It looks so bright and cozy now. Graham did such a good job in covering and sealing that former door opening and the frame panels turned out great. Love the ceiling chandelier. Gorgeous sofa. You chose the perfect art for the TV screen.
this is one of my fave reveals cus the guy literally noticed every single detail n it was so so sweet like you could tell he was so excited and loved your work
Love this one!💕 I’ve been reading lately that French style (especially my favorite, Country French) is passé and therefore looks musty, fusty, old, and outdated. And yet here you come with a Parisian living/dining room that looks fresh and fun, while incorporating some older pieces, giving that cozy and curated feeling the French are known for. Accolades to Alexandra and her armée!!
when tying cushions to a chair, it is best to make a knot first, out of each set of ties. The knot makes it less likely that the cushions will tear. The knot absorbs the force that comes from the wear and tear. Cushions will last a lot longer.
The thing I love most about this channel specifically is all the info on this or that element of decor, piece etc. I had NO IDEA stick-on molding (and that ceiling thingie that went with the chandelier) even existed. Love the fabric used for the tablecloth and the sofa is lovely as well. Well done!
I’m so glad Wayfair is sponsoring you❤ I’ve been a longtime Wayfair employee and a longtime fan of your channel ❤I’ve used a lot of your tips to sell furniture. Thank you for sharing all your ideas much love from Ireland ❤❤
Love how expressive the guy is, and his attention to detail. Another wonderful makeover. That mirror and couch pillow was just stunning. Simple yet everything came together well
Another makeover that just makes one happy! You really maximised the shape, space and natural light in the room. Bravo. Also, Alexandra, your reveal day outfit... so pretty! 😊
Each makeover you do is truly topping the former ones! I'm impressed over and over again, about how professional and high quality these are. Like, there's nothing about this space you haven't thought about to make sure it's not looking perfectly for the reveal! 🥰💓
Excellent work. Just one thing I would change, and do it for all the makeovers on this channel: start buying your cushion inners from IKEA, and choose the feather-filled ones (unless you know the householders have allergies). Feather-filled cushions sit so much better on a sofa or bed and don't have the stiff, cheap look of fibrefill.
LOVELY!!! The loss of the old door frame was PERFECT. Geaux Graham! The Window curve was BRILLIANT and lovely. Geaux Alexandra! The Hutch perfectly matched the table and brought more cohesive style to that side of the room - making it look visually separate - yet comfortable in the room. The New Wayfair UA-cam “history of style” sounds fabulous! Can’t wait to go see it.
It's great to see how the quality of your makeovers and the overall videography and editing has improved so much since the beginning! Also, I love that dress on you, it looks so fresh with your hair back in a ponytail!
Love the chandelier and mouldings. Detest the curtains dribbling away and blocking the beautiful bay window as a unit. Blinds drawing up instead. The found TV frame! ❤ Good focal point & storage with the cabinet in the dining room. ❤❤
I bought that Article couch 4 years ago because I love your channel. And it's the best couch I've ever owned! It is as big as a queen-sized bed. Especially when you buy the matching foot stool. ❤
Love that eclectic cozy Parisian vibe! It really looks stylish and warm and interesting. The Tv frame is so on point, and the curtains really make the bay windows stand out. Great job team AG! ❤
As always, an amazing video from team AG! I have to say, I appreciate that Matthew really seemed involved and engaged with the makeover - I feel like we don't see a lot of guys on here getting into having a beautiful living space!
I love the way it all blended together in an eclectic way as if it had been contrived over a long period of time, and not a couple of days. The chandelier, the tv frame and moldings were the perfect touch. I love the old and modern pieces living in one sweet, cozy space. Great as always!
WOW you just solved a dilemma I have had for 3 years. The Drapery Rod elbow is the magic item I NEED in my apt . Thanks ! I also subscribed to the Wayfair channel, Never knew about it until today. So ive learned TWO things today that will help me make my space better. WIN-WIN !
My most favourite makeover of all! Love the ideas, the thrifted hutch, and all of the other aspects of this episode! Great work team! I personally love Parisienne style so much!
This makeover was exceptional , it also seemed as though it wasn’t extremely work intensive as opposed to some of Team AG other makeovers yet this produced beautiful results. Thank you Alexandra, this was exquisite.
I like the clean lines of the couch as it feels like an anchor for the space so that eclectic things can be styled around it without making the room feel too busy. I wish I had Graham's skills, its amazing what this team does.
Beautiful Alexandra and team. Beautiful Frame Graham! Great tip with the medallion, love it!! I also loved your parents makeover because their home is shaped like mine and was very helpful for design. Thank you Love! This is similar to my living room with a bit of boho for Dee's zen den :) 🥰 I signed up for notifications for your The A+G Debrief #10. Looking forward to it! Happy Saturday All! Wishing you all a wonderful day with peace in your moments 🙏
The transformation from a dark stale room to a vibrant colorful & light one is incredible! The mix between old and new is perfect. Beautiful transformation!
I can't believe you made white walls, a white couch, white coffee table, and white rug look so warm and colorful in the end! The room turned out so stylish and inviting. I'm so glad you kept Grandma's table. :)
Very modern and tasteful no poms or granny is lovely character design I am surprised you didn't just recover their sofa is the same style. Was there a leaf for that table it could be bigger. I have the same curtains oddly enough but I would have painted the fireplace or had it cleaned. Bottles need to sit out not up when storing uncorked. Prints should fit within the frames not over the panels. I liked the chandelier very nice. I would have thought that Graham could have done the ceiling rose himself with a few wood appliques.
I love the framed tv idea.. and the wall color offsets the darker hutch ( I also love hutches) and fireplace so well. It's definitely a brighter, lovely look. So glad to know they have rlbies for curtain rods too! 💝
I have been following you since you were with Chatelaine and always enjoyed your projects. I can say I have seen you grow through them. This one takes you to a Master’s Degree. Gorgeous. Congratulations 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Just a heads up in case I missed someone mentioning it in the video, I’m not sure about LED lights but all the rest I would 100% say do not place a scarf or any material overall lamp. I understand it creates beautiful ambience. However, many people die from fires over a simple, beautiful idea. Last year, a woman with a baby placed a scarf over a lamp and the entire floor of the apartment burned down. people weren’t burnt had to be taken to the hospital, lost all of their possessions and then blamed her even though she wasn’t aware that this was a fire risk. Just please any flammable material from over top of a bulb in a lamp of any kind to be on the safe side. These people were displaced for seven months and had no possessions and had no insurance either. The community gathered and donated tons of daily food and people driving it there and we donated kids toys , and all other kinds of things so they’re not bored for months in a hotel. If this was mentioned in the video and I didn’t catch it obviously please disregard but it doesn’t hurt to save a life or more than one.m just a cautionary warning. Better safe than sorry. Thank you for the great video as always❤

Just a suggestion. It's so crazy that all my favorite youtubers are doing the Wayfair stuff!! Caroline Winkler, Ariel Bisset, Becky from TSG, and now you! HOW COOL! Congrats
Checking out Ariel because the rest of your list are my favs too!
@@amandas.4540 Enjoy!! She's freaking awesome 😍
@@amandas.4540same!!!
Great makeover! It has the Parisian vibe the couple wants but it isn’t ultra feminine, which could easily happen. That curtain rod elbow piece is a game-changer … such great find!!
I would have imagined that a reading seat at the bay window would have been ideal and trés chic.
I had the same thought, I don't think that the pot plant on a stool is doing anything for that room
Just starting and have to say I adore this couple! I love how both of them having individual thoughts and insights!
Beautiful makeover. It looks so bright and cozy now. Graham did such a good job in covering and sealing that former door opening and the frame panels turned out great. Love the ceiling chandelier. Gorgeous sofa. You chose the perfect art for the TV screen.
Love, love, love the Parisian transformation. I got so many ideas for doing my great room! You and your team are awesome!❤
this is one of my fave reveals cus the guy literally noticed every single detail n it was so so sweet like you could tell he was so excited and loved your work
Wow, that was a love transformation. Mouldings were awesome and the couch and hutch finished off the room so nicely.
To clarify - make a knot on either side of the chair post? Thanks for the tip!
The thing I love most about this channel specifically is all the info on this or that element of decor, piece etc. I had NO IDEA stick-on molding (and that ceiling thingie that went with the chandelier) even existed. Love the fabric used for the tablecloth and the sofa is lovely as well. Well done!
Didn’t realize how dull and dark this room was until you brightened it up. Love the vibe❤.
Simple yet everything came together well
I love how the hutch made the fireplace make sense.
Another makeover that just makes one happy! You really maximised the shape, space and natural light in the room. Bravo. Also, Alexandra, your reveal day outfit... so pretty! 😊
Man I was really hoping for a graham fireplace upgrade
Me too. At least a pretty, French-inspired, cover of some sort to hide the hideous brass-trimmed doors.
Time for everyone to share their tips for keeping that couch white
Cover the ENTIRE thing in blankets or a slip cover!
Each makeover you do is truly topping the former ones! I'm impressed over and over again, about how professional and high quality these are. Like, there's nothing about this space you haven't thought about to make sure it's not looking perfectly for the reveal! 🥰💓
Great makeover.
Would love a cost breakdown of the makeovers to get a better understanding what would fit my budget.
Appreciate all the inspiration❤ 😊
I wish I had a Graham of my own. He is so incredibly talented and simply beautiful to look at.
Alexandra, please do a porch or a tiny backyard makeover series, please!!!❤
What you and your team do to small spaces is beyond amazing.
Love that blue in the curtains. This was perfect. It was exactly what the couple wanted and increased the landlords property value.
So proud of you for getting the collaboration with Wayfair, that's awesome! Congratulations!
I especially love how the window treatments came out!
Love it - but I’ll never understand why curtain rods and hardware always come in black! They should come in pastels or at least basic white!
Your positive outlook can really affect someone's mood. Appreciate your contents Alexandra. ❤❤
I love love everything inthis makeover. Especially the sofa and coffee table it elevated the room instantly. Great job Alexandra and team
Me (grown up in the 70’s) that old table and those chairs are the first thing I’m getting rid of 😂
Beautiful as always, love the trim and that furniture!!
Bing Boom Bam! Once again you knocked it out of the park. So lovely, warm, elegant and fun all at the same time. Thank you for sharing. ☮️🇺🇸🗳️
Is it just me or is the radiator a lovely shape and giving danish sculpture vibes?! 💙
My favourite part of these videos is the gratitude at the end. I love how they notice everything!!
HYPERVENTILATING over the new addition Graham’s pearls! ❤❤❤❤❤
I think this is one ofmy favorite Makeovers you have done. The TV frame was just stunninn
Lovely makeover for a lovely couple - it made their room so much more cheerful and uplifting. They seemed over the moon with it. ❤
I love everything you do, Alexandra and company. Hello from the Philippines!
The bug cushion is my favourite, but WOOF she pricey. Future cushion cover goals, for sure!
