The population density is getting so high in some places that I don't want to mention my favorite places publicly.
I am selfish in that way.
At last, a new full-length video after four months away!
For some reason I haven't visited yet, even though one of my grandmothers was born and grew up in Savonlinna. Sometimes I feel so "un-Finnish" because of this. 😅
I have visited Savonlinna over the years for different reasons.
I remember touring the lake area with my family. We had a heavy boat with sauna and other facilities. It was like taking a small cottage for a trip. I didn't have much experience about boating, which made it memorable as I was the captain. Savonlinna was a destination mainly for buying strawberries from a market square.
I didn't visit Olavinlinna but sailed next to it.
For music lovers The Savonlinna Opera Festival could be worth visiting.

So beautiful Savonlinna! 😍 Did you manage to catch a glimpse of the famous Saimaa ringed seal (Saimaannorppa)? 🦭It is said to be one of the most endangered seals in the world, which lives nowhere else but in Lake Saimaa.
Savonlinna is beautiful indeed. When we were on our way to Linnansaari by sightseeing boat near Rantasalmi, we caught a glimpse of two Norppa! It was amazing 🥰
