I am not a Christian. But a life without Neil Morse's Music would be empty for me. SB, Transatlantic, NMB!
Randy's bass sounds so good. If only Rich Mouser would mix the next Dream Theater album we might finally hear John Myung like he was meant to be heard.
I don't understand how some really good bands continue to bury the bass in the mix...makes no sense to me. I agree--love how Rich makes the bass POP. Same with Pete's bass in Transatlantic and Dave's bass in Flying Colors. It just makes a huge difference!
honestly I have to disagree with you. The Dream Theater albums you're talking about are very well mixed. Just not ideal for cheap consumer products like earbuds for 30 bucks or some cheap home theater speakers. they used the frequency band to the lowest lows you can get. If I listen on my cheap AKG headphones or some wireless buds I agree with you but as soon as I fire up my studio Monitors (Focal Twin Be in a treated room) or my Shure SE846 I can hear the Bass extremely well. It just sits really low. A Smartphonespeaker can't even produce those frequencies. The standard of audio Equipment rose dramatically in the last decade and so the mix of Dream Theater changed with it to use this broader frequency board. But blatantly saying you can't hear the bass is just wrong. You can't hear it on your LISTENING DEVICE! So therefore for your taste the bass has his dominant area placed in a wrong spot. I just want to make things clear here because lots of people just repeat what's on the internet. I have regular listening parties where friends came over and especially with dream theater, all of them were surprised how powerful the bass is in the recordings. They never heard it like that before because they never were interested in investing more than a 100 bucks in good earphones or speakers + sub
@@AlexisGitarre Hey, that's actually a piece of info that I didn't know, thanks for that! (although you don't have to be all smug about it)
You just renewed my willingness to buying fancy headphones, I totally want to listen to Dream Theater the way it's meant to be
@@AlexisGitarre I'm sure you're right, but you can probably make any sub-par mix sound good if you compensate with a great system. I think a good mix sounds good on most systems, not just high quality ones.
@@AlexisGitarre I appreciate your detailed reply and, yes, honestly Randy and John Myung's bass tones are completely different. But dissatisfaction with the ability to hear Myung on the DT records is a widespread complaint.
Neal morse is like the cool dad everyone wants to have
Definitely! :)
DAD PROG!
my cool dad would be mike, but hell yea i would be still stoked to have neal as a dad
Eric Gilette is spoilt for choice for "cool dad" options in this band! :) I think he's learned a few things from Neal about vocals in particular, as well as spurring Neal on to greater things on guitar, which we don't get to see much of in this song - but check Neal's soloing in the cover of Baker Street. Amazing!
G'wed lads, pick ya favourite dad. It's like Dad trumps.
Randy & Mike are so freaking in synch......one of the best rhythm sections in rock today.
DIRECTOR: Neal, this is a video clip, not a rehearsal,ok?
NEAL: Yes, sure.
ALSO NEAL: 03:45
🤣
😂😂😂😂
Eric's vocals and guitar parts are absolutely amazing!
Best band in the world
Such an amazing player. Other than Petrucci you can definitely tell he’s influenced by Steve Morse. There’s parts in the new record where I could swear it’s Steve playing!
@@mikem.7921 ABSOLUTLY!!!
I see Neal Morse teaching him to singing. Very Neal Morse like stlye.
Kid's a monster!
Randy is a beast! For years now he's been delivering only absolutely STELLAR basstracks for Neal. Kudos to the man.
Eric Gillette is freakishly gifted. Jaw-dropping. Then you have MP on drums. Also one of the best drummers breathing. Too much awesome.
WTF! This is incredible! My mind is seriously blown away right now. That solo section from 3:44-5:25 has been on steady repeat for an hour. It's the most incredible, musical composition I've heard in ages. Reminds me a lot of old school DT with 1970's era Rush! I don't know what else to say... speechless!
lots of Styx in there as well...
Yes it's so good! The whole album is fantastic.
@@ketchasketch Yep
@@ketchasketch interesting... the lead sound patch reminds me of the Rush song "Losing It" electric violin sound on the album Subdivisions.
Interesting since most of the band admire Rush, although Neal himself is more a Yes/ELP/Deep Purple kinda guy
Nice to know that Neal air drums to Mike's fills, too.
He been doing the same fills for over 10 years
@@jmvm31 Nick Mason has been doing the same fills for even longer and they still sound amazing because that's Pink Floyd's music. People have been running track and field the same way for years--one foot in front of the other! How boring! When are people going to think of a better way to run? like sideways or something! See what I mean? I gauge great playing with these factors: is the tone/touch good? Dynamics? tastiness? Groove? And does it make you feel emotion? That's what matters.
@@r.a.fiallos234 that's what I mean, it doesn't for 10 years. The last album Mike P. played with feel and originality for me was Octavarium. As for Nick M. He's not even in the same league and besides he has barely played for about 30 years anyway.
@@jmvm31 Ok, that's your opinion. MP doesn't need me defending him--he's a legend, a phenomenal drummer, and I enjoy his work (not just drumming) very much. His drumming on this song is awesome--it's like The Who meets Dream Theater meets LTE meets Kansas and Neal Morse. \m/
@@jmvm31 All musicians repeat themselves endlessly. Some have a greater variety of "licks" and combine them more inventively than others but it's still repetition. For instance, John Bonham had a limited stock of fills compared to Portnoy but is still rightly regarded as one of the greatest rock drummers ever.
A re-listening in 2024 and it brings more joy and hope....the guitar-keyboard solo part is sublime!!
Another stellar track! NMB, Spock’s Beard, Transatlantic…everything Neal touches is gold!
Yeah especially these last few years he's on a roll. So many great albums, many of them double albums. All having something very unique, but still Neal.
Flying Colors too
I absolutely love this. Not one unnecessary note in this performance. It’s perfect.
Superb track, got it all, melody, harmony, guitars, the lot!!!
Whoever that listen to this song and truthfully loves prog rock, if this does not give you goosebumps, you better sort it out because you might have a problem there I'd say ;)
What a spectacular song! Everything a prog song should be...and more.
That feeling of another Neal's Masterpiece coming !!!
I can't wait! From what I've seen in video previews most of the ideas for this album came from Bill?
@@brentheathersimons7042 they even jokes to name this is a bill hubauer band album
@@morenoharjoyudanto8889 Nothing wrong with that. The "new" discoveries Bill and Eric are really top quality musicians. This is a hell of a band.
I took a flight to see Transatlantic in Paris in 2010 and it was fantastic. This band is on that way, Similitude of a Dream seems to me one of the greatest albums of all time!
I've said it many times....if the NMB was around in the seventies (when people appreciated great musicianship and songs) they would've been just as big as YES, ELP and the other great prog bands.
Not as big as.. but bigger!!
Yeah cause no one likes music now? 😂 jk
I was going to say the same. 70s Kansas with a total modern twist. This is a lost art of music. These guys look like me, lol
Absolutely agree
the question is, if the NMB would sound as it does without the bands of the 70ies ...
Got to tell you that Gillette dude is a great all around musician.
Dude's incredible
have you seen him drumming???
@@AlexisGitarre yeah he can do everything
He’s a hell of a musician.
@@AlexisGitarre yes, in one of his self made videos. I just can’t imagine being that talented.
Why am I only finding out about this now? This is beyond awesome.
Do It All Again and now Bird On A Wire, both amazing songs from the Innocence side of the album! It makes me wonder even more about the epics on the Danger side... Can't wait for the official release!
This is music. Its back yes all are back. Now we can really rock and roll. No pre programmed se8nless music.now we can fight for our lives too survival on earth. It worth the sacrifice. ROCK ON
Loved so much the flow of the instrumental section, full of joy.
Very fun how they passed it off from one musician to the next like a relay baton.
Just one word...¡¡¡ Just one...YEAH...
The last word "band" in the name is really telling the truth of this. It looks, feels and sounds so "solid" and/or uniform (like a puzzle where every piece is in a right place)
This song makes me feel good.
The transition from solo project to band was very smart. These guys are able to shine but still within the parameters of the band and only serve to make it better. Eric's high tenor is killer. I do wonder if Neal has ultimately just recreated (and upgraded tbf) what he left behind when he left Spock's though.
- Dad!, Look of this band of Grandpas... (my youngest son with 6 years old)
- Yeah boy! Respect the gray head of prog rock!
Tell him Eric is 15!
been in the concert and... holy f*** they play really good
Best Band in The World Right Now!
This song is truly a masterpiece.
Fighting demons, saving the world AND rock. Ash can do it all!
NMB is such a great BAND. These guys are taking it up a notch! We all know Neal and Mike’s heavy influence on the band, but it sounds like the rest of the guys are coming through with great musical ideas. Love this track, as I did Do It All Again.
Only one word. Goosebumps.
Whoa! An amazingly uplifting song. Plus the power and technical virtuosity just blows you away...
Neal is so sincere in his works. We can see that he is 100% focused and feeling what he says.
Hammer, one of the best compositions I've heard for some time. Neal Morse Band is one of the best bands I know.
I finally got the album a couple days ago, and it is consistently great through-out. Neal and his friends (NMB, Transatlantic, etc) have been on fire this year. So much amazing and uplifting music.
One of the best bands since Zappa. And I don't say that lightly.
I like the way Neal gives everyone a chance to show how fantastic they are. It's only getting better! Rock on...
Perfect music. Perfect words. Thanx :-)
I can hardly wait to hear the rest of this album.
The drummer does one heck of a Mike Portnoy impersonation.
Gotcha!
I love this band.
The bird that flies first is me, and i have either seen amazing things or hit the ground as my wings fail me (I nearly died recently). But i'll fly first again - i want to see MORE amazing things....
Fantastic.
Fantastic, 👏👏👏👏
🇧🇷 Love is Band
Love it. Nice to hear something different that isn't from that 70s that sounds great. They all have good voices too lol
This band displays all the talents of his members. Pure bliss.
Special thanks for Neal, the Mozart of our times. And for MP, the puzzle-master...
Can't stop listening. Huge, mindblowing. Great harmonies.
Special mention for the bass tone ! Kicks ass
When Randy George and Portnoy fired off those synchronized double bass kick drum and bass lines it gave me chills.
Yes
Apart of the song, which is a flawless piece of art and a lesson from amazingly skilled musicians, what amazes me is the humble nature of Mr Neal Morse sharing the videoclip space with all other musicians of the band, making them appear much more time than himself, making the name of the band very proper: "The Neal Morse Band", not "Neal Morse & his band". Congratulations Mr Morse for being this awsome human being, besides being the special muscian you are.
Neal's music never fails to make me feel absolutely overwhelmed, making it almost unbelievable that music can be THIS good! Has anyone really heard a "bad" song from this band? Neither have I!
I didn't like some songs from the Great Experiment, like Agenda, but I love The Call. Every album made after that is pure gold. Also the last album by Transatlantic is a masterpiece.
NO ever heard a bad song Yet
They really don't know if they want to be a Dream Theater, Marillion or anything else. The same patterns since years, boring to tears.
@@SinNick03 Man, a lot of people diss on Agenda, but after watching the great music video that doesn't take itself seriously at all and also watching it played live, I can appreciate that song's place in Neal's catalog.
Even their bonus tracks are masterpieces that could be on any major prog band album. Doomsday Destiny is a beautiful example
This band is incredible! Neal’s energy is contagious…lol. I can’t wait for their new album! I love the vocals by all and man…Mike’s drumming is freaking crazy 😜 Neal’s keyboard solo around the middle is jaw dropping 🎹 I’m so excited!
Pre-ordered it blindly,.. talent needs to be supported! Powerfull music, strong messages and seemingly endless talent, what a breath of fresh air amidst the muzak trashbin pulp! CU guys in Tilburg NL. God Bless!
WOW... This band NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!
Wow..no doubt another great album from NMB! Can't wait..
This is above worldclass.
• Inspiring
• Encouraging

• A Masterpiece
The NMB keps delivering songs/music that lifts my spirit & make my day considerably better.
It/You also makes me want to write better songs & become a better musician.
Thank You; Neal, Mike, Randy, Eric & Bill, for delivering epic & positive hiclass artwork, again & again & again..!!

Mostly merry, thankful & proper cheers.
Sadly some people time to post simple & uninteresting crapreporting.

It's a stunning song, this album has just blown me away. Such talented individuals, and they combine to make extraordinary music.
I love this song!
Absolutely Fantastic! (no surprise there)
The instrumental section is great! 👍
LOVE this song so much! Another NMB classic!
As Scott Martin (the comment before mine) said, I am SPEECHLESS!!!! LITERALLY BLOWN AWAY!!!!!! I found this band on a search for "Christian Progressive Rock". This is the second song that I listened to from the Neal Morse Band and they are incredible! So talented and their music is sophisticated yet completely relatable. As Scott said in his comment, the instrumental solo part of this song is off the charts and I went back and listened to it a couple of times which is what I am going to do again right now! I can't wait to listen to more from these guys! What a GREAT discovery!!!!!!! Truly blessed with talent!!!!
Flying through space with Neal Morse Band blasting!!!!
Excellent 🙏👍❤️
I think I just listened to that like 10 times in a row
Love that solo section. Video has cool effects too. Keep up the great work guys!
It’s been a while since a song made smile like this…thanks
it needs to be heard by everyone! it will take just the one listen to grab you...."Magnificent"
Another great song! Hopefully we'll get another single before the full album release. The compositing errors in the music video, such as the head of Eric's guitar at 1:49 and 6:03, prove that the performers were not captured at the same time. But the clever way the men were filmed at similar camera angles creates a feeling that they really are standing and playing together.
DRUMS ARE JUST AWSOME
solo section! YOu're having a laugh!!!! absolute perfection.
Those harmonies are magical. Love it!!
Smoking incredible!!
Music sounds masterful.
Video production looks like dad rock.
Could be way worse especially considering budgets, look at Iron Maiden's new video... yikes!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Just flabbergasting!!!!
Hi all,
Such a power band, incredible musicians guys - Eric Gillette has an amazing epic voice...
Nothing else to say, near to prefection as always, whatever the band is (Transatlantic, Neal Morse band etc).
Reguards
Eric is not in Transatlantic tho…….
@@MadGladiator-_ I never write he was in, you're in luck.
Neal Morse nunca decepciona. Que banda!!!
Love it! The instrumental section in the middle is awesome.
at 3:15 This awesome bass and the bright voices going upwards, simply absolutely the best compositional work. But this is one of the best bands of this time.
awesome awesome awesome awesssssoooooooooooomeee
The morse has written a great new code.
These guys are so prolific it’s unbelievable 😀
Fresh 70's
Yet another masterpiece. I think they put out masterpieces about every 18 months by my count. This is right up there with 70s Rush, ELP, Genesis and Yes
Yeeeeah 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Man... The way your voices all blend together :3
Also, is that me or Mike's set got bigger 😍
AMAZZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Wonderful! I love how many different projects Mike Portnoy is involved in, and they never disappoint! Next album to buy - sorted.
Absolutly love Mike s new drum kit, similar to old D.T. era.
Best around the best.
J'ai ressenti des frissons ! quelle belle chanson !
You guys always leave me wanting more! That 7 minute song felt like 3 minutes! Bravo!
Always Epic Songs .....Genius !
I didn't even realize that it was a 7 minute song until I read your comment. When listening to the song, I didn't want it to end!!!
How blessed are we to receive MORE new music from the masterful mind of Neal Morse?! Can't wait for the album and tour!
MP... Immortal man !
I‘m lucky, I‘ve already got a ticket 🎫 for Köln 2022. I’m lucky 🍀 like a bird on a wire. I have a fire burning deep inside … that cannot be denied. I‘m lucky because of you guys! 🙏
And I'm lucky with my tickets for Tilburg too.....
Ticket and VIP for Cologne.
Este tema me voló la cabeza, funciona muy bien.
All the band members are extremely talented, but the drummer is incredible.
The solo section is epic!
Thanks for the great music!!!
