I'm missing this on spotify, so please.
Neal could sing nursery rhymes in style of Hungarian folk music and it would still be more interesting than most of what passes for music. I'm hearing Zeppelin, then Beatles, Deep Purple, Tull, Argent, early Queen. Who else could pull all that off in one song! Is it prog - who cares, I was grinning from ear to ear the whole way through 😁
It is not Hungarian Folk :)
Mike Portnoy ..... forever my drummer idol! =)
Yes, Mike Portnoy is a legend. I´ve seen him a few times live, he is an incredible performer and showman!
How many drummers have a discography like he does (Dream Theater, Neal Morse, Transatlantic, Liquid Tension Experiment ...)?
I love that riff, a great hook that I can't get enough of.
I’m the man in the iron cage of fear
I’ve been locked in this place for 1000 years
I used to believe like you
I used to be someone who
Showed to others the way, but now I’m lost
No one ever made me who I am
Burned my bridges, sold my house, my car, my friends
I used to believe like you
I used to be someone who
Showed to others the way, but now I’m lost
I took every guardrail down
I never thought I’d be found out
But my secret sin surely had a cost
Surely you can find your way back home
Surely you can turn to God alone
You are never too far gone
His mercy’s new each day
You can still sing freedom’s song
You’re not so far gone
You’re never too far gone
To ever turn again
I’m the man in the iron cage of death
Started with a little slip, now it’s such a mess
I used to believe like you
I used to have dreams like you do
But now I’m a prisoner of my rage
When you think you’re sure to stand
When you’re runnin’ the race I ran
Remember the man in the iron cage
This band is awesome!!!!😎🎸👍🏼
My favourite Christian rock group.
The BEST!!!
I'm digging that Eric Gillette guy's vocal and guitar skills!
Neal Morse is great!!!! Awesome music. Long live the Progrock!
Portnoy seems like he is really happy playing with Neal Morse and that stellar band. This band has made some of these most incredible music and they seem to keep getting better...not sure how that is possible, but album after album, it's more and more refined, polished, inspired and tight. Pound for pound, this might be the best band on the planet right now...and only a select few even KNOW about them. Astonishing.
Mike loves the older music, something he said that the members of DT didn't share. So, we get the fun of watching a great band just gel on many levels and with many genres intertwined
I just found them now and on my 4th song - they are pretty amazing and to top it off are Christian rock band - this just keeps getting better and better ❤
Nice band.
The album is very good, did not expect it to be so good!
My heart is with all of you.
You know, before this album I had never gotten into the Neal Morse Band's music.
I'm now addicted, I've discovered a really talented bunch of musicians, though I knew how good Portnoy was with DT ! I'm especially surprised by Eric Gilette, awesome vocals and guitars here !
Wow ! \m/
ZuoLuoT cool bro I'm glad you discovered the greatest band on the planet right now
Yeah man I'm really enjoying their albums, I've bought a couple of them even !
Also I've been enjoying Flying Colors and Transatlantic since. I'm a Portnoy fan for sure !
ZuoLuoT dude. you cant miss out Transatlantic. to me thats the best morse-portnoy work around. their four albums are unique, awesome and full of emotion. there aint better prog around!
And Gillette plays drums and great at Keyboards. Kind of a modern day Gentle Giant.
My friend tried to get me into NMB but I wasn’t really a prog rock fan, this album is amazing
I can definitely feel The Winery Dogs in that first riff!
D.O.M and the winery dogs got their influnces from led zeppelin
I really like this music!!!!...........
It reminds me of Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog" song. Great !!
Great Song, hello from Ecuador ☺
Loving this Band more and more.
Very happy Mike is in this. I’m his dorky cousin but I’m wicked proud right now. I can’t wait to hear this live. Great vocals ❤️ God bless
I love how he’s incorporated such a great story in to such a great song
what is not to like? Fabulous.
Eric, so solid! Lovin this lineup.
Amen
Neale and Mike have developed such an awesome and special relationship on and off stage.
WOW...♡♡ another great song This band is fantastic.
Mike, your'e the real musician...like this...
cool riff mr.Morse.
Argent Organ Solo!
The guitarist is an amazing musician, generally speaking! Hat down, young man...!!!
Reminds me of Kansas with the middle sounding like Frankenstein by Edgar Winter. Great song!
Sheer musical perfection
Neal, thanks for your creativity.

Great track. Can't wait to see them live...
Awesome Song! That's fantastic melodic rock, which contains the technique, experience and knowledge of great musicians.
muy bueno
This is a great song! How did I arrive so late to the party?!?
This has to be my favourite track from this album that you guys released so far! Digging the main riff, surprise major chords, callback to So Far Gone... Excellent! :D
Maybe we can get the chance to see these guys LIVE !! 2021 🤘🔥🤞
Great work!!! Congrats Mr. Neal Morse.
beautiful and wonderful album !!!
what fun those guys are having letting it rip!
And the anticipation grows... I'm like a kid checking my mailbox every day. Can't wait for the show in Denver!

Espectacular
I'm waiting for the mail to come today, hopefully with my copy of "The Similitude of a Dream"! This video helps the wait! Thanks, Neal Morse Band. Eric Gillette- you are in the right place. This band is perfect with its current lineup. Wow!
I checked for mail 3x today and then realized it's a federal holiday :-( Have to try again tomorrow!
Come to ATLANTA, GA! :)
This is fucking awesome
Awesome band! I just read about them in the new PROG magazine.
!Grandioso, no hay otra palabra!
main riff reminds me polish band RIVERSIDE - Celebrity Touch ;D
Was thinking the same thing, especially with the organ riff!
I was hoping I wouldn't be the only person to think that, although I was prepared to.
And then there's the "WHOO!"s from Gillette that bring that to mind, too.
Yup. I am digging it!
best message
PLEASE COME TO BRAZIL™!
And while here, how about recording a DVD, featuring Adson Sodré as a sixth member? Would be so cool!
Amazing music :)
Greetings from Ecuador :)
Amazing band!
So cool!
Fantastici
Great track, got the Album ... love it !!!!!
Amazing!!!!!!
Can't wait till my pre-order shows up! Everything I've heard so far has been outstanding!
The first riff is an intro theme to any given series on A&E or History.
Was the 70's Riffage Awesome or What?? Hit it Boys!
Love this guys!
It's amazing!
Does any one else hear "Nobody's Fault But Mine" by Led Zeppelin in the opening riff? AWESOME SONG!!
yeees with multiple octaves and low last note ... coupled with "black dog"
excelente banda
Has anyone in the comments read the pilgrims progress ?I’ve just started it a couple of days ago after listening to this album so far it’s a really good book so far.
I found this song looking for a biblical expository on the verses that Bunyan was alluding to. I wonder if these musicians were referring to the man in the iron cage in Pilgrim's Progress.
2:18-2:40 Perfect Strangers By Deep purple
Good riff
Obrigado Deus!
I used to believe like you
I used to have dreams like you do
But now I’m a prisoner of my wage
When you think you’re sure to stand
When you’re running the race I ran
Remember the man with a mortgage
This makes me feel so good. Can't wait to hear the entire album. Thanks, guys!
💖
Wow check it out, Eric is wearing the pick of destiny!
That explains it.
See you tonight :)
Since nobody is saying "bad things" about this release... I will be the FIRST to say that I miss the EXTRA album with the covers of prog anthems. :D
Second that. ;D
But I'll say another "bad thing": While I love what I'm hearing on The Similitude, _the hype still made me feel a bit disappointed_ when I first listened to the album.
*One reason* for the disappointment is the recurring themes that they keep using in a lot of the songs. I felt like I heard them already a lot of times, since many of them were present in the pre-released music videos (and I listened to those a lot). So I was let down that there wasn't more of new melodies etc.
*Another reason* for the disappointment is that too many good sections are too short! :D For example The Battle is so awesome I feel like it should've gone on for longer.
Other than that, I think it's a fantastic album! It's impossible to put it above some other top favorite albums from Morse's career (or even Mike's), but it definitely is a jewel.
Moshugaani Moshugaani thank you for sharing your take on the album. After listening for the third time, I think I have to agree. Don't get me wrong, I love this album and is an instant classic for me... but hearing Neal talking about gates, sky and redemption is getting A LIL heavy. Is like we are always telling the same story. That is why I was very attracted to Big Big Train. Their songs talk about a lot of different stuff and they sure feel fresh and different. But hey! This is the NMB and this album is EPIC!
Martín Enemigo Ah, I understand what you mean, but by recurring themes I meant musical themes. You know, basically the same choruses/harmonies/lyrics/melodies used in different spots throughout the album. That is not uncommon for concept albums though!
It's not a bad thing in itself, but wasn't what I was expecting. :D
Oh! That does not bother me that much, since it's part of the idea of having a conceptual album. I am a little bit tired about the LYRICS material per-se but the VOCAL work and the music is SO damn good I ended up not minding in the end. :P
That dent on the main vox condenser mic grill distracts me. haha
fucking brilliant
i enjoy the music so much more when i dont see neal sing. looks like a baseball coach trying to rock out. haha. Most of the album is solid as hell.
See you in Cologne :)
YAAASSS!!!
Thats GREAT!
FODA!!!
La voz de Neal Morse no envejece...
""Great it just needs a scream or something at the end... wait for it, waaait ... NICE".
OK, this actually sounds pretty good. Potential to be better than The Grand Experiment?! I believe so.
And it is better :-)
Randy George at 3:06!
What. Was. That. Face?!
Anne L. Yeeeeeeeees
Tell us, Neal, you have a big love for 12 strings 'eh :)
There wasn't any significance. He said he just happened to be playing a 12-string when he wrote the songs for this album.
Well he happens to play 12 strings on many other tunes too. Just seems to be a theme. I actually dig the jangle of a nicely tuned 12 string but hate trying to keep 'em in tune.
This is tasty AF!
I dont find them in spotify :(
Album of the year? Well......
For the majority part of this video i though that the BASS player and the KEYBOARD player were the same person. And I was like "Dammm that guy plays anything!"
Joao Pedro Vieira check out the Alive Again live video. Halfway through the song they change instruments between them. Eric goes to the keyboard and then the drums. Mike goes to the bass. Neal to the drums. Randy to the guitar and Bill to the bass too, I think. They're multi instrumentalists, so they can play not just what they signed up for. They're awesome!
They all can play multiple instruments very well.
03:06 HEY GUYS HOLD A SECOND, IM GOING TO SCRATCH MY ASS........
You're one of those guys who think he's witty. Keep trying.
Is it just me or did they left a micd electric guitar on the mix? Sounds weird
Black Dog+ Elevate
Yulia Bogomolova y algo de deep purple, sobre todo en el teclado
Like a Toto Song!!! I forgot the name.
"How many times"
Portnoy a encore du chemin à faire pour égaler Bonham
отличный коврик под ногами
It is from Nashville, it is not Country 😎🤠
