The guitarist is Sakari Hietala, Marcos older brother and yes he is influenced by Richie Blackmore among others 😄

Saw them live on this tour, in a tiny local venue. Got to chat with Marko afterwards too, which was amazing. It was another time, Tarot is never returning to such a tiny venue 😂 but the point is, they were amazing musically and gave their all even for a smaller crowd. They genuinely just enjoyed doing their thing and connecting with people. Mark of true, humble musicians.
This track is my favorite from them, the tone and themes are beutifully translated into sound.
Marko is an old dude, Tarot started already on 80's. The first credible metal band in Finland. I recommend you to check out the solo project of Marko "Marko Hietala - The voice of my father" (and look for music video this time... it has so touching lyrics and wonderful singing that watch the music video, because there are no quality live videos about this one)
Ashes to the stars and Pyre of gods are awesome. Wings of Darkness, the 1986 version needs to be more seen. Marco and Zak as glam rockers are great

I saw Marko sing and play live last summer, I loved it so much! It was his solo concert. The songs were mainly from his first solo album. They were so good. Marko's band played well, too. He is still a really good singer.
What Marko was saying in Finnish:
"Now, we are going to test if we can make you cry. Let's hope so. And if not, that's okay too... you can be otherwise just sad as well. Janne Tolsa will start the next song, aka. Tides!"

From the 2006 album, Crows Fly Black, their 7th of 9 studio albums. Unfortunately, you can't get a stick from him anymore, sadly drummer Pecu Cinnari passed away in 2016. The band went on hiatus then, reuniting with a fill in drummer, Antero Seppänen, for a couple shows last year. No plans ,that I know of , to do any more shows or make more music.
That's Marko's brother ,Zachary, on guitar. He and Marko formed the band in 1982, when Marko was 16. Janne Tolsa on keys since '88. Tommi Salmela joined in 2006, vocals and sampler.
Good choice Valtte. Another popular Tarot request is for "Wings of Darkness" off their first album.
Tarot will be playing shows in Finland this summer

Great reaction. This whole concert is epic! lost count of how many times I've watched it..pounding bass with Marko and Tommi on vocals will always be amazing! My personal favourites from this are Tides, Warhead, Undead Son and I Rule. Please keep listening to these talented guys.

Tarot is a metal band from Tervo (50km west from Kuopio. What Kuopio.. Kuopio is the second best/most beautiful city in the world), founded in 1982 under the name Purgatory. The band are pioneers of Finnish heavy metal.

Marko Hietala, vocals, bass
Zachary Hietala, guitar
Janne Tolsa, keyboards.
Tommi Salmela aka TUPLE is more or less as good singer as Marko. You should check what he is able to do. Finnish music seems to be more and less wasting the great talents sometimes.
