    I just got one yesterday. Thanks for the heads up on the grounding issues. It saved me a bunch of time if I would have had to troubleshoot.

    They actually don’t roast the necks, they roast the wood for 8 hours prior to neck fabrication, pretty cool process

    I had that same grounding to the bridge and had to do the same thing with a Michael Kelly tele bridge , so now I learned any painted bridge that’s grounded needs to be sanded to get a good contact

    Great review and demo, thanks! I also really appreciate the tip about making your own conductive paint - I hadn't ever heard of that. How do you take the battery apart? Just go at the casing with a knife?

    If it had a tremolo and coil-splits, I'd get one. I'm not a metal guy--my main guitar is a Strat--but for a while, I've been on the lookout for an HH Telecaster with maximum tonal possibilities. Something more affordable than the Charvel so-cal tele.

    • @Brucetheguitarist
      @Brucetheguitarist Рік тому +2

      For sure but the Charvel is in its own league 100%! If I was you, probably see if you can get your hands on a used Charvel

      I bought one of these like 6 months ago and I don't regret it one bit! It spanks HARD when you roll the volume back and pick harder, so you wouldn't miss not having coil splits that much I'd say. But then I hate coil splits myself so what do I know. That would be cheap to add but I don't know if the pickups have 4 wires or 2. It's much, much brighter and hotter than my Les Paul with PAF style pickups, and I've got a ton of DiMarzios and Duncans I could replace the stock pickups with, but they're staying! They sound killer out of the box. I'd say the fixed Tele bridge piece is fundamental for that extra spank so if I was you, I'd get one anyway and take it for what it is. A quick visit to a luthier for a new nut, fret leveling and you'll have a killer guitar that does NOT go unnoticed onstage!

    • @hindigenius
      @hindigenius Рік тому +1

      Iv heard the bridge pickup has those extra 2 wires that you need to split them. You just have to add a push pull

    I have this guitar and was curious about the pickups, so thanks for the measurements. I've watched a ton of reviews and none of them sound very good but your tones are absolutely fantastic.
    I have a newer model that seems to be properly grounded, so I didn't need to do the bridge mod.
    And just for your OCD, SH Teles are a thing (as opposed to thee more traditional HS). They aren't as common but they aren't super-rare either.

    Amazing guitar, I play my Squier Tele more than I play my Fender Strat, it is so easy to get good tones from it.
    MY ADVICE: If you own the Pearl White color one like me, KEEP IT IN THE GIG BAG AWAY FROM SUNLIGHT. My guitar caught a yellowish tone in a matter of weeks from leaving it near the window with indirect sunlight. I now have to live with it, arghh. I have some covers if you want to know what it sounds like.

    • @jakethefate

      That’s a good question because those guitars are great also! I would honestly have to say the LTD just because I love those guitars more the Squier’s but I would say get this or that, that’s completely up to you to see what feel and sounds better for you

    Where did you sand the paint to fix the issue?

    • @jakethefate
      @jakethefate  11 місяців тому

      In the bridge, when you lift it and see the ground wire that black coating should be exposed to the metal if not it’ll buzz. I’ve had a few PT style guitars that have black painted bridges and they buzz because the back of it isn’t sanded

    • @mikec6733

      @jakethefate thank you very much.
      Now I get it. There's one on Craigslist near me. Like new, $300.
      I'll probably wait till it's gone, like I usually do...but it looks interesting.
      I don't play high gain much, so maybe it's not for me.
