I just paid 5000 RMB for ET9 pre ordrer. It's time to retire my 2017 Model S.

The ET9 isn't as lexurious as I was hoping. The exterior is a disapointment, it does look just like the ET7.

I like both the concept and execution of this saloon. I'm afraid I disagree with the comment regarding the ET9's front profile, as many of today's premium brands have taken an outlandish and somewhat tacky approach toward front-end design, i.e., BMW's and Lexus's latest offerings, for example. I agree that the front-end design language is in lock-step with current models; however, I find it both wonderfully appropriate and in keeping with Weilai's unique and unapologetic approach.
Good plan . Didn’t work. All the models from which this monster design copy pasted, ET7, ET5, EC7 have been highly unsuccessful.
The only thing more you could ask for is maybe some fancy chrome accents on the front or maybe a lip but being that it is an EV it does not require the same air flow as an ICE so the lip is more of a personal want than an actual need.
@@apb38 the chrome wound be like putting lipstick on a pig . The design itself should need no gimmicks and accents . The ET9 is a lazy design job .

When I look at the NIO car frontal design, I has always feel that it's kind of plain and always feels like something is missing. So, I have asked what is really missing, may be some intricate design? I though maybe NIO can add a light like the one on the Knight Rider car or EVE that bounces back and forth. But still it's very difficult to say. But I still someway like it the way it is. Sometimes when I looked at Tesla car front then compare to another car next to it that has some kind of design. I felt that the plain look of the Tesla make it look futuristic so I thought it may be fine. I also think that the ET9 front from a certain angle it looks really cool, just like a supercar. I think it may be just missing a higher sense of technology, something that is visible, unlike the matrix headlights.
There is one thing that I though NIO can do to the front of the car. I think they can put in a front cover with wind tunnels for wind turbines that have air channels leading the air through the air vent of the front cover. The wind turbines will generate electricity as it goes making the car more energy efficient, in a way kind of like reducing drag. The opening in the front then should be covered with a uniquely designed wire mesh or something like that or just leave it completely open like ones in a supercar.

It looks too plain and design-wise, not much difference from the usual ET range. Lacks character inside out. The magic carpet ride is impressive though.

Looks like a Phat ET5. Not a very original design.
This looks like a boring family sedan although it has a nice personality. The front is played out. William Li has some work to do, for sure. Please put David Hilton (ep9 designer) in charge. Also, please release a car that looks like the Nio eve.

Very subjective view on the design.
Modifying the Elon Musk quote in a way that makes it seem like he's directing it at Nio, despite saying the speech is from FSD speech, is poor taste. Seems to show bias against Tesla, when car reviews should be held up without bias.
In a similar way that you reviewed the Zeekr model and claiming it to be better than Tesla in every way, yet didn't review many internal features such as the specific features in the onboard computer and other perks, not very specific with how the car handles including it's lane assistance mode.
More in-depth reviews, less bias against a certain brand. These new company EVs show promise but Tesla has time behind it to show reliable research to support build quality for 200k mile drive range and 82%-91% battery retention across that drive range.
These newer companies have not yet stood test of time, and I don't see this being discussed in your reviews.

And at the same time it means OLD NIO model customers, that means everyone that bought a NIO from the beginning until the release of the ET9 ,will not be able to „upgrade“ their battery to the new 900V system.
