MG Products are very good, only concern is the fuel economy, this needs to be addressed
MG vehicles are a good choice. Just hope they increase the efficiency of their petrol models.
Then buy MG Hector strong hybrid. You will ride it like a normal petrol car and when you apply breaks frequently and the battery will charge automatically. No need to charge the battery and the battery will give you extra mileage.
Can we have an episode on Honda India?
It would be great to have 1 or 2 podcast on VW/Skoda future strategy.
MG4 not coming is a big miss...its one of the most sought after cars in EV.
I'm just loving these podcasts,
Can you guys discuss the boom in the sales of luxury and ultra luxury cars in India? thank you.
The new strategies with JSW will really change the game in indian auto industry 😍
MG is really doing great job in the EV segment with their best offering EVs. and they made the future plans which are looking really good.
My daily driving is 200km can I buy a ev punch or any other option like cng or Diesel
great insight by Hormazd on the misuse of PlugIn hybrids, and Hybrid is the new diesel!
Is Sajjan Jindal planning an e two wheeler as well ?
Oh never knew the FE for the Turbo petrol was so bad. Actually I drove a Hector Plus recently. Lot of technology with sad UX (for the screen and too many beeps and bobs)
I was struggling to find the screen which shows Avg FE until I gave up.
Adas was so peaceful on the E-way. Throughly enjoyed the car. But not for my taste as I can't enjoy SUVs as much as I do cars
For me sibling hector in indonesia wuling almaz same with SAIC patent MG .
No compact SUV like a sub 4m comparing to the venue ?
While i'm not keen on this brand, i wish others provided diverse options such as phevs
The most interesting car here is comet with a practical form factor for Indian cities. Let’s hope MG comes with a DC fast charging for Comet.
Only Hector, Cyberster and Civic based sedan look good. None of the other products in the lineup are appealing. Also, plugin hybrids will certainly fail.
What we need :
1) plug in hybird
2) series hybrid
3) power split hybird /þ/ series parallel hybrid
I just hope MG doesn't compromise on Safety with the indianisation of their platforms
I will go for EHS plug in series hybrid are the best of both worlds EV mode for short runs and errands and fuel efficient IC for long journeys, yeah baby.
Well I disagree with Hormazd about the Plug-in hybrids. I personally believe, a range of 50-60km makes a lot of sense for a daily driver to office and I can charge at night exactly the way I charge my phone. And on the weekends or holidays, I can just use the ICE without any range anxiety.
For the strong hybrids, I always need to put fuel in order to drive. With plug-ins, I have the flexibility to choose. I'm personally expecting Jeep to launch their new compass 4xe hybrid.
Wow, what a great podcast! Very elaborating and interesting. MG India's revamp sounds exciting! Their future looks brighter, and their plans are extremely great.👍
Hormazdji, surveys say that in Europe there were incentives to adopt PHEVs which made company fleets buy PHEVs where the end user just chose the cheapest to lease product. And getting a charger installed at home in Europe and US is expensive. In comparison in South east asian countries PHEV emissions are much closer to the certified stats because they use the plugin facility more religiously. I think companies should provide the choice to users in India and Govt should not incentivise PHEVs at the same rate as EVs. End user has operational cost incentives to own PHEVs. More cars will plugs will increase charger availability too.
MG is focousing more on Evs, its good to see MGs plan.
facelift mg zs ev must now to take on creta ev etc.
I love Astor's design. I think it is only due to its lack luster performance and low average that most of the people don't purchase it.
Thank you for a wonderful podcast. This episode is Super Good, no interrupting each other, thanks for taking our feedback , Well delivered ... Thanks ....thanks a lot 🙏
Comment top model is highly priced otherwise it is a nice car if comes down to Rs. 6 to 6.30 lacs
01:45 I guess you meant, 'They cleverly disguised it as British!'
MG is one of good product brand from China. It have very appealing products, expectign more EVs
Hormazd will agree! The PHEVs from MG will make them the new Maruti!
Just common sense!
i love this series so much!
Hope they don't dump China specific models here. They should bring their global cars like Mg4, mg5, Cyberster.
This was such a wonderful podcast! Looking forward to more of these :)
mg is good company
If MG has to cater more clients then they should opt for Strong Hybrid instead of Plug in Hybrid in their complete line-up that will help them to get more customer. As diesel has no future so they should look at this option.
MG4 is GREAT!
WHAT I THINK is that MG will bring NEW ASTOR HYBRID as it's Just launched in Indonesia names MG VS and it will be great deal.
Current mg has ONLY ASTOR / ZS as their true DNA car because all other hector, gloster, comet are from other brand. WITH HS the true mg will come as it's also a MG developed car
Since 2 months ASTOR is going good nearly getting same sales as SKODA , that's all because of new PRICE you should have mentioned that
When new generation fortuner is coming
lol 😂
I statiesfied with mg 5gt, good looking car for my wife
Byd can do the same with a Indian partner
MG cyberster is best
If it is hybrid, then it has to be self charged hybrid like Toyota. Plug in hybrid doesn’t have future in india.
Honda suicided in India! The 2009 2010 Jazz even today looks truly contemporary and does not even rattle a tiny bit! Does 13+ on city and 18+ on highways! Wa Honda ivtecs! Still to be beaten! But Honda you suicide bomber of your own fans, how can you not bring the PHEVs now to do that renaissance!
Multipolar world has not even begun & already "adversarial" BYD & Toyota have already started working together. My vote is for hydrogen.
Why this push for a Chinese brand?
Understandable in mobiles where we dont have an alternative but automobiles? We have good Indian brands and enough foriegn brands.
This JSW is just a ploy, the chinese will be back buying out Jindal.
Lets be aware to what the Chinese car brands are doing in the European market, home to some of the greatest brands.
Why invite disaster to India? Its not like Chinese have great automotive tech.
Recently in China, their sister brand Baojun has launched Yep plus..
which is essentially their Cloud EV, with SUV body.
That would be a very practical car in India
I think lot of the consumers would love and manage a plug in hybrid. Mileage sells good in India. Suzuki is a great example.
The fear of being stranded with an ev on a long drive is just too much. I would not buy one unless I can afford something like a Byd seal.
