      They been even way worse than today before Schumacher, Brawn and Todt came to Ferrari. These guys made a racing team out of a hobby troup. There were horrible mischieves in the first one or two Schumacher years as well as in the Gerhard Berger years (despite Berger) - until the Brawn-Todt-Schumacher system gained grip. And this is the heritage that still keeps Ferrari somewhat professional today.

      I thought the opposite. I think Brundle didn't personally like Schumacher but understood the talent he had and wouldn't hesitate to praise him in those great moments. Never even puts himself there even though I think he is there. If he won 2012, he'd be giving all three a run for their money. Nobody has ever won in the fourth fastest car on the grid. But he damn nearly did. Man earned my respect when he beat Schumi in 2005 and 2006 (unlike Mika cuz eff lying cheating spying McLaren) and my absolute eternal love and admiration for 2012. @@philippf2136 I don't "think" buddy. It is what happened.
      2007 : Ron Dennis realises midway through the season the commercial potential of a British F1 driver being the poster boy of the best British team (McLaren) for the commercially biggest F1 market (Britain). And proceeds to back lewis the best he can. From then on all upgrades go first to lewis.
      2010 : vitaly Petrov offers almost no resistance to anybody else till Alonso shows up on his tail and Renault being Renault (crash gate 2008 anybody?) desperately don't want to lose the championship since Renault are the engine providers for Red bull in those years. Petrov uses every dirty trick in the book to keep Alonso behind including running Alo off track several times with surprisingly no penalties.
      2012 : Grosjean goes bowling in Spa, taking out Alonso along with several other drivers while Seb finishes second. If Alonso had finished any position higher than 9th ( he had qualified 6th and was level 4th with Kimi by turn 1 before being bowled) in Spa, he would have won.

But he suffered a drive-through penalty for crossing the pit exit line after one of his pit stops, meaning he entered the pits 4 times overall. He still managed to win the race. So the four stop strat was just for the slower cars towards the back that mike would have tried to lap? So instead of trying to get around the back end slow folks just pit, give a little room but not too much to let 2nd place catch up, then get back out and start tearing it up full throttle without a worry about the last place getting in the way? Am I picking up what they’re putting down?

    • @Yoshiman2024
      @Yoshiman2024 3 роки тому +10

      The 4th stop was gonna happen eventually but they did it then and there because of the 2 backmarkers. If they waited one more lap, he'd have lost the lead of 4 seconds and would have come back on the track behind Alonso. Overtaking Alonso in such few remaining laps would have been difficult.
      Also something that wasn't mentioned in the video is the tyres. The Michelin tyres (Renault) had less trouble with degradation than the Bridgestones from Ferrari.

    • @marxel4444
      @marxel4444 3 роки тому +8

      From what i heared, they did the 4 stop strat because this pitlane is very short compared to other pitlanes.
      You can get less fuel into the car = faster lap times
      and fresh tires = faster lap times
      So if you take the 20 seconds MORE for 1 stop (when you enter and leave the speed limit of the pitlane) and "only" have to make that up in 28 laps.
      If your faster 1 second because you have less fuel and fresher tires then you would normaly then you gain 28 seconds with a 20 seconds investment on a track where overtaking if a very hard thing to do.

    There used to be atleast 8-10 cars those who are capable of winning at any other day.
    But, really what spot on the effort and the talent which made "Michael Schumacher" The legend.
    He,s the one who made Ferrari looks unmatchable.
    But nowadays it's 1-2 team battle, 2-4 cars approx.
    And within if "Lewis Hamilton" Wins more often.
    Than, well that doesn't means he's as capable of "Schumi".
    Every person in this world who understands F1 from each and every expects, will surely know what " Michael Schumacher" is all about.
    No one could be like him.
    Though I had great respects for lots of F1 icons, like "Sena, Prost, Stewart, Raikkonen, Alonso, Barrichello, Massa and even Hamilton as well and many many more to call though.

      @@zeferinojuliana6638 Well, my friend "Schumacher" used to win because of his own great ability which was much greater than the Cars he used too....But about "Lewis" it's a visa-versa.
      He wins because of his strong car rather than his own ability.
      We all know in this "Hybrid" era....Mercedes are well ahead of rest of the teams.
      But, wasn't the case a decade ago when "Ferrari" use to win...and that too of non-other than the "Magician Micheal Schumacher" 💘.

      What does refueling have to do with strategy and driving excitement? Yeah, the car is heavier after a refuel, but that's about all.

    • @Aviation-vn7ko
      @Aviation-vn7ko 4 роки тому +6

      Peter Griffin Won’t come back again I don’t think. First off it’s very expensive, second off they burn more fuel coz there’s no fuel limit to the race which is against F1s carbon neutral plans, and the most important thing is it creates boring races for 90% of the time as overtaking is done in the pits through strategy rather than on track. So all in all, refueling isn’t good for casual fans, and only interesting from time to time for purists when teams run different strategies as it was common for teams to just do the same thing with all the data they had much like today.

    F1 when Michael Schumacher still racing in Benetton and Ferrari :
    70 laps, less reliable engine, no DRS, no ERS, car less stable than today F1 car, he even racing with manual clutch with H gear shift paterns, race in full wet conditions, has very tight competition because there are 3 team with 6 drivers fighting for the titles but still Michael able to get 7x WDC despite of being unlucky sometimes, causing him lose 3 WDC titles, also he didn't get best car all the times and even he got 2x WDC with midfield car like Benneton.
    All of those reasons is why Michael is the GOAT of F1, not fraud fake 7x WDC who are whinning spoiled arrogant kid who are lucky too aka Hamilton and who need fastest car and best team to win, need team order to win for many times (i can't even count how many times Bottas got team order to let Hamilton win) even he still lose WDC just like in 2021. Hamilton is not legend, he is overrated fraud british driver. Fake championship !

      He won 1 race and had 7 podiums with a manual gearbox, don't make out like he dominated with one. All his championships were with the semi-automatic style of gearbox. He also dominated the drivers championship pointswise for all but 2 of them. He is the greatest to ever do it, no doubt about that but don't make false claims about him.
