It's incredible engineering, no doubt. But I don't know about limited space. If you have never been inside a C-17 or seen them in person, its hard to describe just how ungodly huge this plane is. The first time I walked up the back ramp into one was one of the few times in my life I've been literally speechless.
Dedicated, professional crews, hats off to you! Let's work for the day when their talents and the huge military budget can be put to better use helping feed the hungry, rescuing those in floods and lost at sea. Few can profit from war and creating division.
A reply to John. I did the math it's cheaper to fly the ah64 to it's combat airfield then to fly it halfway around d the world. Everytime they use the c17 to move equipment they save money with it's 96% reliability they save money.
