Kabutops is my all time favorite pokemon and I am happy to tell you it can still function in OU really well on rain. There is no reason to use it instead of barraskewda, exept that my boy looks way cooler
I love the evolution of this series at the beginning you would have just talked about OU and if they were better in a lower teir you would have just moved on and now you've dedicated near entire segments into lower teirs were the pokemon was better. So thank you False Swipe Gaming for getting me into competitive and making this already awesome series even better.

I really like Kabutops! I never had any idea that it was used this much...probably because it's been cemented in my mind as a Gen 1 Pokemon, since as a fossil Pokemon, it doesn't show up recent games that often, except maybe as something that feels like an Easter egg. Good to know that it's as strong as its design makes it look!
Since I was 5 yrs old and bought red version at walmart 20~ years ago, kabutops has been my favourite pokemon. So thanks for making this video. I can only dream that one day he gets shell smash and takes his place as the best rock type pokemon of all time.

Its so crazy how important the speed stat is. Its the difference between being RU or ubers. I dont think swift swim would be nearly as impactful if it doubled any other stat
Even 1 Speed stat can mean the difference between being destroyed by Garchomp immediately or finishing it with HP Ice. Although I will say doubling the Attack stat may be as good because priority but your point is still very true.
This is why Mega Garchomp is considered inferior to its regular form, losing just 10 points from the Speed stat left it outpaced by a bevy of Pokémon that it normally gets the jump on, like Black Kyurem and everything at base 100. 92 is nowhere near as good a tier as 102.

Since the first time I went I've been there five times more and it took all that time to find a doctor who took me seriously; so now I'm transitioning from Klonopin to Xanax. My insurance is being a bit aggravating with not wanting to cover the Xanax but I'll work something out. I'm doing better now that I'm on a set of medications that, for now at least, are working correctly. My parents weren't a fan of the Xanax or Thorazine but they can't really argue against a doctor in a hospital.
Poor Kabutops, Smogon cut down its wings in its prime before it even got to soar. Too bad there is very little reason to use it when Mega Swampert exists. BUT GUESS WHAT I REMEMBERED, megas don't exist in Sword and Shield, so it might become the Rain Superstar its supposed to be. Hope Galar Immigration treats it kindly.
Fossil pokemon and dinosaur/dragon esque ones deserve to be prominent in the Galar region, seeing as Britain was a major turning point in our discovery of extinct mega fauna.

Kabutops imo realistic buffs Moves: -shell smash, if barbaracle (and all other water types relicanth except get it, so should kabutops. -Close combat: it fits, especially with scyther having received it recently -wave crash: water type that's big enough to learn it Ability: tough claws and sharpness both fit, but don't replace swift swim Stats: upp it's speed to 95
Keep in mind that there's currently over 800 Pokemon. There's about 50 labeled as OU by Smogon at any given time with about another 50 that are somewhat viable but outclassed and only a few others that are VGC viable that aren't OU/Uber viable. The average Pokemon is bad, even if you restricted it to final evolutions.
I don't think we'll ever be able to take on the strongest pokemon with our favorite pokemon its just not fair when it comes to battles everyone will just use the strongest ugly ass pokemon whether they even like the pokemon or not just use them to win 😣😞😩
Given how much the quality of this show has improved, I think it'd be really cool to see some older episodes revisited, especially pokemon that missed out on Gen 7 discussion.

When it was showing Kabutops taking down a Mega Kangaskhan; I just thought what if they made Parental Bond hit an opponent twice, but also GETS hit twice by by the opposing Pokemon? It's the same reason for what we have already.
As a person who's second favourite type is rock please give it a recovery move, a good physical move and a good special move. Please Gamefreak I want my precious Gigalith to get a buff that doesn't just give it a op ability.
I love Kabutops. I used it in the Battle Tower Gen 4 and helped me my first over 100 win streak on my Doubles Rain Dance team. The weather nerf Gen 6 on hurt it, but it's still one of my favorite Pokemon.
Always interesting when a Pokémon actually improves before eventually dwindling. Also always fun to learn about Pokémon like this that I wouldn't expect to have a place in ubers during certain generations.
kabutops is like that veteran swordsman who's not that experience in his younger days, but gradually grew stronger and more experienced as he grows and ages, unwavering and adapting to even the harsher of conditions. And his strength unmatched against even the strongest of foes. But as age caught up with him and he's no longer as strong as before, so he uses his experience in his battles to show he's that even through he's old, he's not a pushover. But alas allowing the newer generations to takeover while he retires. The fact that he has the same video duration as mewtwo speaks for itself

All jokes aside about lord hellix, Kabutops has always been my favorite pokemon. As a kid not knowing he was a horse-shoe crab, I assume he was a velociraptor with swords for hands.
I really hope it gets a stat buff since the avarage mon in the newer generations have a better base stat total. A lot of gen1 Pokémon need stat buffs. It give it shell Smash and close combat. Both fit its dessign, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick shell smash
Kida disapointed the Z-stone edge set wasn't covered. It has its relevence along side M.Swampert and Kingdra as THE threat in smogon OU rain. That said. very cool hearing about Kaputops viability through out these last few gens :D
Another great example of a pokemon that could totally use a powerboost in the form of a mega evolution or some new fancy tools like better abilities or attacks - Kabutops could be a real killer with Accelerock for example or having a brand new ability in Tough Claws
Ok, I really think that Kabutops should have access to Regenerator. Its real life counterpart has miraculous blood and it heals from almost everything.

Shame he didn't talk about ou kabutops in gen 6. He had some niche as a late game (setup) sweeper on rain teams. Generally with a politoed, mega-swampert, an extra rain setter like tornadus-therian or azelf, kingdra and another pokemon like ferrothorn.
As a true old OG RBY player I've used Kingler to good effect surprising people, even Porygon if your opponent is caught off guard, can be a legit threat to a few. But Kabutops is one of the few "coolest looking" that I've never found a single tiny niche or use for. Even if the opponent is unskilled you can't expect Kabutops to live long enough to boost and use it's STAB surf move.

With it +Weak Armor their's speed will easly triple (4 stages).

All jokes aside about lord hellix, Kabutops has always been my favorite pokemon. As a kid not knowing he was a horse-shoe crab, I assume he was a velociraptor with swords for hands.
Kabutops is untiered in Gen 8 now :( I hope it gets something eventually
I really hope it gets a stat buff since the avarage mon in the newer generations have a better base stat total. A lot of gen1 Pokémon need stat buffs.
It give it shell Smash and close combat. Both fit its dessign, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick shell smash

Kida disapointed the Z-stone edge set wasn't covered. It has its relevence along side M.Swampert and Kingdra as THE threat in smogon OU rain. That said. very cool hearing about Kaputops viability through out these last few gens :D

Another great example of a pokemon that could totally use a powerboost in the form of a mega evolution or some new fancy tools like better abilities or attacks - Kabutops could be a real killer with Accelerock for example or having a brand new ability in Tough Claws

In gen 8 you set up swords dance and then use max geyser and there is your sweep, works so nice :)

Shame he didn't talk about ou kabutops in gen 6. He had some niche as a late game (setup) sweeper on rain teams. Generally with a politoed, mega-swampert, an extra rain setter like tornadus-therian or azelf, kingdra and another pokemon like ferrothorn.
This Pokemons design is Kabu-top notch.

Coming from Gen IV I can't imagine him being anything less than godly in my eyes.
As a true old OG RBY player I've used Kingler to good effect surprising people, even Porygon if your opponent is caught off guard, can be a legit threat to a few. But Kabutops is one of the few "coolest looking" that I've never found a single tiny niche or use for. Even if the opponent is unskilled you can't expect Kabutops to live long enough to boost and use it's STAB surf move.
