      Awesome. What do you think of the other two? I'm very tempted by the Spice.

    • @sirsilver1968

      Dude the spice is such a creative amazing machine along with the grind im new to these moog clones and im loving the journey and im new to semi modular synthesis@@MikeRenouf

      @@MikeRenoufspice is so bloody quirky and its quirkiness brings so much to the table in terms of inspiration and ideas.
      The Grind ive not really gone into depth asuch due to my time with its siblings.
      Thats no indication that i dislike the grind, far from it as im just taking my time to fully grasp the workflow.

    omg this is so helpful Mike! 😳 this is the first time i've ever seen an explanation/demonstration of what's going on with the cables and knobs, an entire world of synth exploration has just opened up before me 😅 thank you!

      I have been thinking about what further videos I can make. Maybe a course on synthesis basics would be interesting? ✨🪐

      You're welcome - I think there's only so many additional patches I can come up with just for the Edge by itself, and I don't have any modular gear. We'll have to see what else we can find in the patch bay... ✨🪐

      the only reason to sell a dfam is its stupid cracks n clicks with short decay and closed lpf.. otherwise it was a pure dream mashine 😍

    Surely an DFAM 2 with an evolved sequencer /memory would be welcomed with standing ovations. But Moog lost interest after their 8 step midi-less creation.

    • @MikeRenouf
      @MikeRenouf  5 місяців тому

      Maybe, but I am fine with what we got. I think it's a bit like asking Roland why they never made a polyphonic 303 with wavetables as well as saw and square. You can use further features, but the base product does something cool, innovative and inspiring. I'd rather look at something else unique if was to buy another unit.

    This is awesome! I use my EDGE in almost every jam but I really don't play with the patch bay enough...

    • @MikeRenouf
      @MikeRenouf  4 місяці тому

      Took me a few months to find the interest in the patch bay, and I am more comfortable going unmatched when improvising live. Would be fun to try live patching, but I'm not confident enough for that yet 😆✨🪐

      @sirsilver1968 3 дні тому

      The patch bay i find intimidating but i love the potential this thing has and its really added that 8 bit crunch as a percussion addition to my rd8 and rd9

    Thank you for the tutorial!!! Curious, What are you using for the Main out( phones jack) ??

    • @MikeRenouf
      @MikeRenouf  Місяць тому +1

      The cable I'm using is a bit misleading - it's the only one I had on hand. It's a stereo 3.5mm to two 3/4 inch jacks cable - but since the Edge is monophonic I'm only using one side of the stereo out. ✨🪐
