Dude the spice is such a creative amazing machine along with the grind im new to these moog clones and im loving the journey and im new to semi modular synthesis@@MikeRenouf
@@MikeRenoufspice is so bloody quirky and its quirkiness brings so much to the table in terms of inspiration and ideas. The Grind ive not really gone into depth asuch due to my time with its siblings. Thats no indication that i dislike the grind, far from it as im just taking my time to fully grasp the workflow.
omg this is so helpful Mike! 😳 this is the first time i've ever seen an explanation/demonstration of what's going on with the cables and knobs, an entire world of synth exploration has just opened up before me 😅 thank you!
You're welcome - I think there's only so many additional patches I can come up with just for the Edge by itself, and I don't have any modular gear. We'll have to see what else we can find in the patch bay... ✨🪐
Tremendous stuff. DFAM user here but intend to get a couple of Edges to augment the set up (no elitist bullshit here!). This is a great tip which I’ll be trying out later… New sub here for thee squire, cheers!
Surely an DFAM 2 with an evolved sequencer /memory would be welcomed with standing ovations. But Moog lost interest after their 8 step midi-less creation.
Maybe, but I am fine with what we got. I think it's a bit like asking Roland why they never made a polyphonic 303 with wavetables as well as saw and square. You can use further features, but the base product does something cool, innovative and inspiring. I'd rather look at something else unique if was to buy another unit.
@@yukuzoona6604I've not looked at the Labyrinth, but if it does something decent, then that's cool. I'm not in the market for new gear at the moment! ✨🪐
Took me a few months to find the interest in the patch bay, and I am more comfortable going unmatched when improvising live. Would be fun to try live patching, but I'm not confident enough for that yet 😆✨🪐
The patch bay i find intimidating but i love the potential this thing has and its really added that 8 bit crunch as a percussion addition to my rd8 and rd9
The cable I'm using is a bit misleading - it's the only one I had on hand. It's a stereo 3.5mm to two 3/4 inch jacks cable - but since the Edge is monophonic I'm only using one side of the stereo out. ✨🪐
a brilliant simple yet hugely rewarding patch. Really appreciate such clear and precise explanations.
You're very welcome. I'm really glad this series seems to have been useful to a lot of people. Thanks for the supportive comment. ✨🪐
the moment you controlled the cutoff with the vel knobs a huge smile came across my face, excellent.
Keep this little vids coming please
I know that feeling 😎
Just got mine today, what a machine along with my spice and grind 😎
Awesome. What do you think of the other two? I'm very tempted by the Spice.

I have been thinking about what further videos I can make. Maybe a course on synthesis basics would be interesting? ✨🪐
Thanks a lot!!! It gives me inspiration to explore the sonic edges of the Edge. Please keep on going!! Warm greetz from Holland 😊

Thanks so much! This is one of the most interesting and easy to learn machines I've ever gotten. So cool!
You're welcome. The edge is definitely a fun piece of kit! ✨🪐

Thanks for the sub and the kind words. Glad to hear the video helped! ✨🪐
Great stuff... helps me understand my EDGE better 💚
Mission accomplished. Thanks! ✨🪐
THIS is Brilliant Mike!!!! You are. Wonderful Teacher....too bad We don't have a Edge.
Thank you. Really appreciate the comment ✨🪐
Nice tips! ❤
Thanks - hope these give you a few ideas!
Thank you for that great deep dive. The edge is an awesome versatile unit. I love mine
Glad you enjoyed this. Yeah, the Edge is a keeper!
Thanks for this. I'm not going to sell my edge now and experiment a little bit more
Go for it - make something cool ✨🪐
the only reason to sell a dfam is its stupid cracks n clicks with short decay and closed lpf.. otherwise it was a pure dream mashine 😍
Wow, dude u make me wanna use my DFAM again!
You stopped??! 😆 ✨🪐
Really helpful and awesome! More of these videos plz! 🔥
Great! Will do ✨🪐
That's a cool thing. Thanks for this.

@@MikeRenouf 😊👍 mostly our gear is just enough we have 🙃
💯
This is awesome! I use my EDGE in almost every jam but I really don't play with the patch bay enough...

Thank you for the tutorial!!! Curious, What are you using for the Main out( phones jack) ??
