Yeah, they're a phenomenal combo. If you route the audio from the Edge to the external inputs of the TR8S you can add the delay and reverb too. ✨🪐

Yeah, at 3:15 on the vid I put it to osc2 only (not actually off, I mis-spoke), so the kick is unaffected by the sequenced pitches. 👍

Thanks for that - I feel like there's still a huge amount of ground I've not even broken yet with this setup. They always say, it's not the tools, it's the artist - I truly believe that once you've got a few basics covered in the rig. I switch up tools just to keep from getting bored from time to time, but not because I've run out of options to explore ✨🪐

@@MikeRenouf well I don't think I help myself using modular and trying to improvise both the programming side and the audio side at once. I've come to the conclusion that I should only do one or the other, otherwise neither ends up with the subtlety and sophistication of a good set.

Ahhh... Modular ... All bets are off 😆. Seriously though, it took me a few years to settle on my setup. I need to qualify what I was trying to say before: most musical styles will need a specific set of capabilities from the gear you're using. If you can figure those out and make them accessible with your setup then that's the goal. Just my 2cents.

I think there is a tendency that a lot of UA-cam content is aimed towards selling a product, so it is really refreshing and encouraging to see someone hammering out new sets on a tried and tested rig. That is a situation I'm looking to be in, and your videos have given me a lot of food for thought I can translate to my gear.

Yeah totally makes sense. They're all just tools, and if you have one which makes a task simpler, then use that. This was just provided as a quick answer to a question I saw in a comment section.

@@MikeRenouf yeah and you only need one osc to do that, you can just draw it in serum or Operator tbh that's what i do and sometime in serum i used bit of bend aka +/- to make it a bit sawtooth wave to give a bit more of a fat sounding sub bass and a bit of a Texture sound tbh

Probably yours is a more elegant solution. When I made this I wasn't as familiar with the serum wavetable editor, so I used a directly equivalent process. I imagine there are several ways to do it.
