I live about an hour and a half north in PA and I'm planning to make a trip down to the Stevensville plant soon. And I would really like Paul to sign my electronics cover.
I have a Custom 24 SE in trampas green also. I can honestly tell you it's way better than my 2007 20th Anniversary Single Cut 10 top. It really isn't even a close comparison.
It is really cool that the people who make your guitar literally put their names on it. You know who put their effort into making one of the best instruments around.
As a proud owner of a few guitars I can honestly say that the best guitar I own, my go to when I want perfection, is my PRS SC245. What a great instrument! Thank you to all of you over there doing an amazing meticulous job. Keep it going!!!
I saw a PRS guitar in the hands of Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge and he was playing the song called Blackbird. Man, It was all of the joy. The song and that guitar with the bird inlays they mixed together and formed some kind of dreams for me. I got my PRS SE 245 some years later and I really enjoy it. Good Quality for the price. I am really happy to be a part of the PRS family. Thanks, Paul.
@@mr.nobody68 The guitar is beautiful, but my PRS experience is a bit soured because the guitar was not even close to setup properly. I think it's partially the music stores fault but I don't see how PRS would let a guitar so far out of spec leave the factory. I'll either work on it myself, or send it to a luthier when I get time. I'm too bogged down with other projects to mess with it atm.
I recently built a replica of a Hittite guitar found in a grave dating to 1600 BC in Anatolia. PRS shows how far we have come in the last 3600 years of guitar making. Great video.

Thank you for this. I made it to Gibson in Memphis one time, and the last tour of the day had already started. i never got to go back before they closed. I love the amount of dedication you put into making sure it's a true PRS. Thanks, again.
I’ve just ordered a PRS hollow body standard in fire red burst. My partner said ‘haven’t you got enough guitars?’, but when I showed her the pics. she said ‘Go for it’. I can’t wait for this; I have mainly solid guitars, an SG and a Telecaster, also a Hagstrom with a semi hollow body with one f hole. This should complete my collection and satisfy me (for a while).
They've mastered the flame tops imo. I just love the way they look. A PRS is gonna be my next purchase I think. First I need to recover from buying a Kemper Profiler tho. lol
PRS kept people in charge that actually know what goes into making a great instrument. I thought I was going to hear 20 minutes about marketing the product with claims of authenticity and heritage. The attention to wood quality is incredible.
Loved This! I have watched every PRS tour video from 1985 to this one and the one thing that never changes is their dedication to crafting the best possible instrument with the best possible materials! My original pre-lawsuit singlecut(10 top w/birds) has been my #1 guitar since the moment I picked it up over 19 years ago. I recently added a 2019 Custom 24 which is my #2. Between these two incredible guitars I now have the capability to produce any tone I want or need to! PRS helps me capture the spirit, soul of music! They are simply the best at what they do...period!
I love my PRS guitars! 2 of them are over 19 years old. I have 1000 times more respect seeing how much love went into all the details. Amazing work! Would love to see how you made the Hollowbody II as well.

Absolutely a eye opening experience with the history behind the scenes of music... in depth look into the world of guitars...amazing how heart and soul is put into this process... it’s just as important to those who make this magic to those who turn the tunes into magic ...
Jack is such a huge part of PRS Guitars and their success.. He knows his stuff being with Paul since 1985 . They have both learned from each other, from trial and error , and from other guiitarist's wants and needs from their guitars. The past few years, even the SE Guitar Department, that is run by Jack, has set the bar high on these overseas made guitars, to the point that they're giving other manufacturers "Custom Shop" guitars , a run for their money. Paul Reed Smith,l,Jack Higginbotham,Paul Miles,Len Johnson, and the rest of the employees at PRS Guitars just care and it shows on every guitar from SE-Private Stock. I've done the factory tour 6 times, and it's breath taking.
Big fan of Paul's work, here. I can't bond with the guitars, for some reason, but they are great instruments and the quality and innovation the company stands for are second to none. Also, the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen was the graveyard that came out earlier this year, in red and grey and with the crow and all... Very Alan Poe-esque. Superb. Truly a work or art. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
I just purchased my first PRS Core, a Custom 22...its immaculate. It sounds, and plays better than anything ive ever touched. My other two high end guitars (for me anyway) are ESP E-II's, which I love, but the PRS is just hands above. The resonance, the feel, the frets, the playability.. Its all just a notch above. Kudos PRS, such a fabulous instrument.
I loved my CE24 for the exact reasons that this video shows how great the factory is. Mine was recently stolen but I went to a store today to look for a replacement and the best guitars in the whole store were all PRS by far! Even the used instruments were all above and beyond in quality and tone of anything else I’ve played. It feels silly to say but honestly it makes playing other guitars half the fun!
Hi I'm E from the Edison Junction Band, as you can see I play a Custom 22 '10' top live and also record with this guitar (we're up to 3 albums now). This year I've added a Silver Sky to my collection. Thank you PRS for the best instruments I have ever played.
I love how everyone at PRS seems so passionate about making their guitars the best they can possibly be. Total pipe dream, but I’d leave the UK and everything I have behind to spend my days working amongst such enthusiastic and dedicated people.

Thanks Bob. I checked out a couple of your videos. I never knew of these talents. Good stuff. I hope you don't mind if I bore you with some history of my past with PRS. I had a customer who had a woodworking shop in College Park. His main guy there was named Joe Knaggs. Joe and I became friends. I introduced Joe to some of the automotive urethane clearcoats and he liked them. He called me one day and said he had went to work for this small guitar manufacturer called PRS in Annapolis. Joe introduced me to Paul and Paul started a test on the Glasurit 923-85 clearcoat. He fell in love with the look and told me to never reveal to anyone the product he was using. He then switched to the Glasurit for all clearcoated guitars. Being a guitar guy yourself, I am sure you know that Joe Knaggs went on create his own high-end guitar company that seems to be doing very well. I visited him two years ago in his shop on the eastern shore. Thanks again for the well wishes and wish the same for you and your family.
Blame it on Carlos Santana. Fell in love with his sound and PRS birds inlays guitar, so I got myself a Korean SE 24 PRS flat body red one to fuel my imagination to play like Carlos. I think that the Koreans did a good job, and I believe that one day it may become a guitar collectors treasure? The all in price I paid was $500.00 Canadian.

A question that I've always wondered, who hand writes the gold serial numbers on the headstock? Perhaps a 1 to 2 minute video could show how that process is done.
They are most certainly hand written on core models. On Private Stock models Paul Miles puts the finishing hand written touches on the back of the headstock.

I initially thought PRS were expensive weird guitars. I was kind of forced to buy one because I needed a 24 fret US-made guitar, then I set it up for the first time according to the specifications from the owner’s manual… I have guitars from the usual and traditional big US brands (Gibson, Fender, etc), and none of them conform with their supplied user manuals right off the box, but only PRS got it spot on first time! It remained that way for years without any formal trip to the local guitar service centres for routine setup. This just blew my mind! From then on I will only choose PRS for my future purchases. The QA on these guitars are just insanely good and just what I expect when talking about that passionate American quality and attention to detail. 👌

Thank you for putting the talent and effort in to making every guitar that leaves your factory look, feel and play like a boutique guitar. I love my McCarty 594! It sounds incredible, it plays like a dream, and I don't think that I have tuned it more than three times in the near 2 years I have owned it.
This makes me want PRS guitar.
You have just disclosed your low IQ and your total lack of guitar knowledge. Actually this type of product is perfect for you.
@@zacharyhandcraftedguitars Great, Thank for philosophical advise.
@@SekRanger Its not philosophical, nor is it advice. Its an observation of your ignorance. The perfect PRS customer you are. If you learn about guitars and become knowledgeable, your whole outlook will change and you will never make such a statement.
@@zacharyhandcraftedguitars Awesome, thank you for not philosophical nor advice. This is perfect for me.
@@zacharyhandcraftedguitars Put the tin hat back on. I'm sure the hundreds of thousands of yearly PRS customers are way dumber than the amazing oracle that is you... Handcrafted guitars? ok mate.. lol.
I am happy to say I'm the proud owner of a whale blue S2 singlecut, a Tremonti SE singlecut, and a custom 24 SE in trampas green. They're are exceptional guitars! I live about an hour and a half north in PA and I'm planning to make a trip down to the Stevensville plant soon. And I would really like Paul to sign my electronics cover.
Frankie Five Aces I live in MD and have been to the PRS Experience 2x. It’s well worth the drive - I bought my last hollowbody there.
you know that your se are cheap knockoff asia guitars? when you ve ever tried an original you will notice the difference
cheers
fickbasterd they aren’t knockoff
@@Cookie4yabro he is a troll and an idiot. My SE is no knockoff either, I bet this chump is just mad bc he doesn't have one
I have a Custom 24 SE in trampas green also. I can honestly tell you it's way better than my 2007 20th Anniversary Single Cut 10 top. It really isn't even a close comparison.
I took the factory tour in August 2019. Wow. So highly impressed. Everything is just like this video showed.
My CE 24 is almost paid off on layaway. I'm so psyched I can't wait
The quality of this video is tantamount to the quality of their guitars. Very well documented.
What a beautiful, well made documentary. It has a zen-like quality. Well done guys!
Yes a very good Documentary great work, and quality
I recently built a replica of a Hittite guitar found in a grave dating to 1600 BC in Anatolia. PRS shows how far we have come in the last 3600 years of guitar making. Great video.
Best guitars on the planet. Proud owner of 2 core instruments. I'll always stick by PRS's quality.
I own a 2009 Emerald green custom 24 one pc Ten top, and a 2011 acoustic/electric angelus, I have owned and played a majority of the top names play during the 80's and 90's. when I stopped playing I told myself if or when I started playing again I would own the cream of the the crop! It's not about how much it cost but how much you value your investment and the love of owning and playing a quality instrument. I was that boy who look from a far and said one day I will own one! and wouldn't change it, and inspired me me to buy my PRS angelus. Thank You, Paul for your dedication of perfection and the team that builds them. Much Respect! Wayne Butkus.
My mother was a builder of musical instruments by vocation, so this video really touched part of me in a wholesome way. Thank you; and keep doing your thing! 💕
Beautifully done video tour! VERY impressive technology! I hope to do it in person sometime. Thanks for posting.
First I need to recover from buying a Kemper Profiler tho. lol
I have a PRS Santana Gold Burst and I've been lovin' every minute playing it. I feel even more proud after watching this awesome video.
PRS kept people in charge that actually know what goes into making a great instrument. I thought I was going to hear 20 minutes about marketing the product with claims of authenticity and heritage. The attention to wood quality is incredible.
PRS puts gibson and fender in the mud
I have a PRS SE semi in orange. Previously Strats. I now want a solid CE in Aquamarine. They are superb to play and sound amazing.
Those guitars are each a work of art. I doubt I'll ever own one, but if I could, I definitely would! 👍❤️
Guitar sort of has two parts to it
Playing
And the act of being a luthier
I absolutely love what goes into making guitars specifically PRS
I'll be glad when the tours open back up . I look forward to this very much !!!
I love my PRS guitars! 2 of them are over 19 years old. I have 1000 times more respect seeing how much love went into all the details. Amazing work! Would love to see how you made the Hollowbody II as well.
Outstanding video! I purchased my first PRS 14 years ago, and haven't looked back. My OG CE-24 is the best playing guitar I've ever played.
This helps me understand why the core series costs as much as it does. I didn't think it was possible to want a PRS more.
My 95 custom 24 is the best guitar in my collection and still like new on that day I bought it after thousands of hours playing and miles on the road thanks PRS !
That magical place also makes everlasting Gobstoppers!!!
Imagine if Paul presented himself as a gene wilder style willy wonka only make guitars instead 😂
Spitting is a nasty habit.
Cheers.
Thay Graveyard II model is no joke! It's gorgeous... Wish I could swing it, at least without having to sell other stuff.
Best guitar manufacturer out there
I just purchased my first PRS Core, a Custom 22...its immaculate.
This guy looks like Mr. Incredible’s boss in the first Incredibles movie lol
Dude XDXD
An amazing video of how much and what it takes to bring a Great guitar in to someone hands. Thumbs up PRS!..
Im impressed with the neck part! entirely one month only for the neck!!!! #respect
I love how everyone at PRS seems so passionate about making their guitars the best they can possibly be. Total pipe dream, but I’d leave the UK and everything I have behind to spend my days working amongst such enthusiastic and dedicated people.
Bring some Arsenal merch, the guy at final assembly will love it.
I own a McCarty 594. Phenomenal guitar. Clearest humbucking tone I’ve ever heard, stays in tune as well as a tele and is an ergonomic marvel. Can’t find a single complaint.
That is because you are a hack and know nothing about guitars. The quintessential PRS consumer.
You are also a Beta male with low T.
Well Zachary, is that how you talk to a possible future customer?
@@frozendivots1564 I don't subscribe to the corporate, commercial system of doing things. I build every guitar for myself and if I feel that someone qualifies and deserve it, I will be honored to have the play it.
The process of every guitar is that I dream it and then I create it. This way what you hear from me is unfiltered and completely sincere. I give your the truth. I am not a cheesy salesman like Paul is. I am a guitar builder.
Zachary Handcrafted Guitars all guitar builders are good in my book. Great guitars everywhere. I have nothing against Paul, he did what he wanted and good for him. I have been buying guitars since the early 80’s, I own almost all of them. So many great guitars out there. No reason to hate...
@@frozendivots1564 No hate here but you are an SJW. The people are PRS are NOT guitar builders and neither is Paul. Paul is a cheesy salesman. You can buy all the CNC made guitars you want, you will never bond with any one of them. They are inorganic and the human rejects it. They are sterile and lifeless, even if their plastic coating is flawless. Wake up Normie. Your world is shut down because of your ignorance. Next come your shackles.
Thank you for this video.
The quality of the work that it shows is much greater that the price you pay for one of your guitars.
LOVE my PRS. Feels like home.
La prima volta che ho provato una Prs è nato un amore che non finirà, grazie a Paul e a voi che date il meglio ogni giorno regalandoci questi gioielli
i love it that theres a guy in the PRS factory wearing steel panther shirts!
Very nicely done! Thanks so much for bringing us into your house!!

My PRS is 17 years old and plays like a new guitar. Their workmanship is superb.
They gave me the nicest rejection letter when I applied. I still think about it from time to time.
This tour is on my bucket list and I plan on making the trip next year.
Wow, a toothbrush! Good to know I have a pro luthier tool in the house!
Jack, I was so surprised to see you pop up on UA-cam today! Last time I saw you it was 26 years ago when I had Superior Auto Paints and you gave me a tour of the factory. You guys have come a long way to be the preeminent large builder in the world. I am glad to see that time has been kind to you and hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Fantastic New Year! All the Best!!
Hey Bob, I too have many fond memories of PRS from the very earliest days at Virginia avenue in Annapolis. Amazing that they started from virtually nothing and went head to toe with the legendary giants in the guitar industry. Actually created a whole new standard for excellence. Good to see your name after many years!
@@patricksantana3337 Pat - great to hear a friendly voice from the past! Hope you and your family are safe and well. I retired in 2017 and began building guitars as a hobby. I actually just posted a youtube video last week on my most recent build (just google bob ellenson music - there are 11 videos). Its been a fun experience and very rewarding. All the best to you!
One(1) month for the neck, ONE MONTH...and this is why PRS is best on the planet. A neck that's stable for the lifetime of the instrument.
Spyder Logan Adamovic Basses has a similar quality control. They wait for 6 months between rough cutting and assembly, and another 6 months between assembly and finishing
But best guitar brand is Gibson
@@IvanChernenko No. But I like them. No they are not.
After 15 years, i decided to start playing again. I decided to buy an PRS SE Custom 24, Charcoal Burst. I can´t wait to hold it in my hands and start playing and learning again. And someday when i´m better i will buy me the Handcrafted from Maryland for sure. Such a nice work you guys do there. After i seen this video i saw the one from Indonesia and i´m sure i did the right choice to buy the SE.
Jazzaxx, same here, 15 years ago I started and gave up, lost interest and started a family. Started up again on my 'old' Epiphone, but looking to buy an SE or a genuine PRS. Especially after watching this video.
A question that I've always wondered, who hand writes the gold serial numbers on the headstock? Perhaps a 1 to 2 minute video could show how that process is done.
I'm sure that's screen printed on to the head-stock
@@stephenbaldwin2009 no the serial numbers are hand written on usa models
They are most certainly hand written on core models. On Private Stock models Paul Miles puts the finishing hand written touches on the back of the headstock.

My Core Starla ’09 has it. 24,5” is a thing to experience.
“Hey Curly Bill, thanks for wearing your Steel Panther shirt on filming day!” 😖
You can tell a lot of time and attention went into the making of this video. Super informative. I'm so impressed with how high of a standard that these instruments are manufactured against.
very interesting factory tour. Seemed kind of generic to me though anyway I've been trying to perfectly estimate how many times perfect was used in this video especially the first halfand I'm afraid being human I can't do that but I guess they can do that at PRS can't they LOL not really the biggest PRS fan in this video didn't do much to change my mind. Live-and-let-live that's what I say please excuse any typos misspelled words lack of punctuation etc I cannot do typing perfectly so I use speech-to-text because I suffer from mr. Magoo syndrome translated really legally blind anyway I wish everybody a Merry Christmas and happy Hanukkah and a healthy and happy and peaceful New year sincerely yours, Bob the blind bedroom guitarist
07:58 I work in a factory myself (rotation creasing/cutting tools for packaging), and that shirt really says it all. If you wear that during your work, that says SO much about your attitude.
2:10 my guy with the Steel Panther top
I have 3 of them, I’ve been to 2016 Experience and have met Paul twice. And I know I’ll attend another Experience and will buy more guitars. I love the perfection, the attention to detail, and the instrument per se, comfortability and unique sound. There’s no other brand for me.
Are tickets available for Experience PRS? I haven’t seen any available.
I really enjoyed this video. Excellent story and voice over with matched video. A joy to watch great instruments being made.
I want to be apart of that 1st group after COVID-19 is over
My CU22 and CE22 don’t feel that expensive now after seing this. The amount of work, dedication and quality you get is quite astounding. They are the only brand that I would buy sight unseen. They are that good.
I see the love in my ce 24 semi hollow body ,and after this, now I feel fine with my guitar being my bedmate ,lol
I'm so thankful to you guys to take so much effort to manufacture the beautiful work of art. To be able to see what go into manufacturing was a great experience. Thanks again PRS. I am not an owner yet but I love your guard and should have one in my collection soon.
