  • With so much excitement surrounding the release of Harley Davidson's new Low Rider S motorcycle with the 117'' Milwaukee 8 motor, it was KILLER to be able to grab one for a rip and put it through the paces to see if it would live up to all the hype. On this test I take it for a ride down the Angeles Crest Hwy just north of Los Angeles California and discuss what my initial thoughts are on Harley's newest Low Rider.

    Riding a supermoto 701 in the mountains Harley riders often appear to be stuck in space and time, but have test ridden this one and totally enjoyed it, feels great!

      Harley really did step it up and deliver with this bike. It’s so fun. How’s the Supermoto?

    • @Andreas-yt9wv
      @Andreas-yt9wv 2 роки тому +1

      Supermotos are extremely sporty bikes, weight is 140 kg power is 80 hp, massive breaks, but riding a normal road does not make sense on it for me since it is so agile. Only thing for me that seems sensible are tight mountain passes. Its super fast and aggressive. I like crusing though, too 😂 so might get a cruiser to keep it a bit more relaxed.

    • @NateBeck
      @NateBeck  2 роки тому

      The lighter bikes can be difficult to cruise long distance on but that sounds insane on mountain curves though!

      @@NateBeck its a single cylinder big bore with ~700 cc a brilliant motor that revs till 8000 and keeps giving till >7000rpm. Its high tech water cooled 4 valves and of course overhead cam shaft. It accelerates similar if not faster than the harley. It feels raw compared to any other bike i have ridden though, well its a supermoto 😄.

    What made me find my way to your channel was the Heritage videos because I’m considering trading in my softail standard for one. I’ve watched every video since; The production quality of all of your videos are absolutely amazing. The wide scenic shots remind me of Matt Laidlaw’s kind of, which I’m a big fan of his too. I really enjoy the chest mount angle. However, my favorite angle is the handlebar mount and talking to the camera with a 3/4 helmet, I don’t see anybody else doing it like that. Honestly only wish you made longer videos, maybe 12-17 minutes to help manipulate that UA-cam algorithm to your advantage! Keep up the great work brother.

      @@NateBeck It definitely is an awesome ride, super flickable and with it being about 650lbs with a 107 M8 it feel super torquey, but it doesn’t track the best; catches every little imperfection in the road. It’s pretty much just a smoother riding Super Glide.

    I really enjoyed mine. I bought mine in March. It was quick! And, lots of fun. However, my riding style includes many longer trips. I believe if the bulk of your riding is an hour or so (or less), this is an AWESOME bike to have. I put over 7k miles on my bike in 2 months. At that point, I decided to trade for a touring model. Since then, I have ridden over 12k miles.

    • @NateBeck
      @NateBeck  Рік тому +1

      My first impression was the same as yours. I thought "dang this bike is zippy and fun but longer distance, I dont know". When I go ride I like to keep it between 6-7 hours in the saddle a day and I took the LRS on a multi day trip where I did about that and it wasnt bad at all. At the 5-6 hour mark my legs started to get cramped and I could see where maybe a set of further forward mids might be better (I'm 6'2) but over all was really impressed with the mid range capabilities. That being said I never took it longer than 7 hours in one day so I can't speak past that distance per day.
      What touring model did you trade it in for?

      In a perfect world I’d have this and a nicely modded Road Glide for longer trips. Someday when I have the time... These days I work a lot so ripping around before or after work for an hour or two makes up the bulk of my riding multiple times a week with the occasional day trip and this bike is absolutely perfect for that. I definitely don’t get the same adrenaline on a touring bike but I’ll be damned if they aren’t comfortable to ride! 😅

      Hello Fabio! That’s exciting you want to get into riding motorcycles! I would absolutely start with a Nightster. The Nightster still has plenty of power and will be very fun but also more forgiving for someone who has never ridden before.

      La striscia nera sul serbatoio del Low Rider S 2022 è in metallo, non in plastica. Sulla Low Rider S del 2021 l'indicatore di velocità era sul serbatoio. Penso che fosse migliore, ma nel 2022 Harley Davidson l'ha spostata sul manubrio in modo che sia più facile da vedere.
