@@Arthur_Hastings best car ive ever had. I’ve put 36k miles on it since feb 2023 and it’s been amazing! Just put a cold air intake on and it sounds great too
Fellow Des Moines 10th Gen Civic SI driver here, unfortunately, I wrecked mine a couple months ago out on Army Post Rd.. looking for another one. Great car.
My favorite daily driver right now is the mustang ecoboost. Amazing handling, and plenty of power more than most 4 cyl turbo cars out there. Comfortable and easy to manage
I have a 2019 civic hatchback sport cvt. Race prl intake with stage 1.5 phearable tune. Ark performance exhaust. 24psi on high boost setting. Making probably 220 on a good sunny day
I bought my 2020 Civic hatchback sport brand new in 2020 for 23k. I put 44k miles on it already. Very comfy car, and I am 6ft9in (can't have sunroof). The 1.5T hasn't given me issues either, though I am slightly worried about my coolant level being really low. I change my CVT fluid every 30k miles and thats about it. Long term I do have worries about carbon build up and premature spark plug / head gasket wear due to GDI high pressure
I have a 2018 si and didn't really drive it much. After 3 years the car only have 6K miles, then started using the car as my daily. The car is not modified and plan to keep it that way. As a commuter, the car averages 40-42 mpg. I don't drive like a maniac. Great car so far. As far as that dilution shit. Time will tell. Valves might need to be clean at a certain mileage, perhaps, which can be done at a Honda dealership.
People want the Si to be fast like an STI, EVO, Type R, but they don't realize this car outlasted it's competition being a blend of racing/daily driver. Also MPG's matter.
I want to get a 2018-2020 Civic Si this year, I'm just kind of afraid about what some people are saying about oil dilution with these 1.5T engines, and few other things like the transmission. I test drove one about 2 weeks ago and it made me really want to get one very soon, especially this aegean blue color. If I do purchase one soon, Ill let you know!
That’s awesome dude! I’ve never had any oil dilution problems with mine but it also I my gas 18k miles on it right now. It has been very reliable for me the last couple years
I'm not sure what to get I'm in between a 9th gen Honda civic Si or a 10th gen Honda civic Si *9th gen Si I like the larger windows more visibility easy to see out of I like the physical handbrake I like the naturally aspirated k24 with the torque for daily driving and I like the double dashboard cluster and the clutch that grabs down low and it has a better sounding engine with an exhaust* I like the 10th gen Si because it looks more aggressive I like the front end and the rear tail lights I like the racing seats I like the sound system I like the better technology features I don't like the electronic parking brake I don't like the long travel distance of the clutch I don't like the rev hang I don't like the way the car sounds with an aftermarket exhaust and I don't like how unreliable it gets after adding mods unlike the 9th gen Si but it is more quicker full bolt on it's hard to decide which one to really get
I came from a 9th gen Si and traded it for a 10th gen. I absolutely love my 10th gen. It is by far the best daily driver I've owned. I've been FBO and tuned for 40k miles and haven't had a single issues and I'm still on the stock clutch *knocks on wood* 10th gens are very reliable, but the problems you see are caused by the owners. They don't know you can't lug the engine in a turbo car and it kills their engine and clutch.
I had to make the same decision when I got my Si too. I was looking at a 9th gen Si but my blue 10th became available. I overall like the 10th gen better and the new technology features are very nice. I would personally pick the 10th gen but in the end it is up to you. (Also turbo sounds are amazing)
Get the 9th gen. Slap a turbo kit on it your a lil over 400wheel reliably. Wish I still had mine but got slammed into. Got a 10th gen now it’s great on gas compared to the 9th gen but somehow feels more artificial in my opinion.if I were you I’d try out both.
i would definitely like to see more comparisons to a wrx, I am in that exact position rn with choosing an older wrx or that si, so some pros and cons would be nice.
late response but I just went from 2015 wrx to 19 si. the wrx handles and corners noticeably better and has noticeably more power, it's the better option for spirited driving. it's just so uncomfortable though for a daily driver, I couldn't stand it after a few months. si is just so much more fun and comfortable to drive even if it's slower, it's the much better daily/practical car IMO
How do you feel about the rev hang? It bothered me at first and being that it was my first manual trans car, it was messing me up cause I would see videos where as soon as they clutched in, the rpms drop but mine wasn't so it made me think I wasn't driving right. But now I'm used to it.
If you’re trying to shift fast it can definitely get annoying but after driving the car everyday I’ve gotten used to it. Just something a tune would take care of if someone wanted to go that route
@@TwoWheeledBrah it's about 60/40 tune and flywheel. I had rev hang disabled on the tune side for awhile, and it made driving so much more pleasant. however, the clutch engagement is lackluster and getting shifts to be smooth was still annoying sometimes. it was eventually fully resolved when I upgraded to a single-mass flywheel, which was about 50% lighter as well. this is something that got changed in the 11th gens though
