- UPDATE: At timecode 9:02, I say the opposite of what's on the visual. The visual is correct...Nephi uses the word "Lord" more than "God," and Jacob is about twice as likely to say "God," than he is "Lord."

I"m 73. Joined the church at 8. Missionary at 19...studied the scriptures enough that they get boooorrrring. Until today! John... this was absolutely brilliant!!! Shocked me actually. Blown away by this lecture. I was actually excited by what I learned. Ha'vent felt like that in a long time. I even got Isaiah. Hope you can keep this up. A great big THANK YOU!!

I'm confused by something in this one though. You say Nephi uses God more than Lord and Jacob uses Lord more than God. But the graphic on the screen seems to show the opposite?
I made a mistake in the recording...the graphic is right...Jacob is more likely to use "God" instead of "Lord," and Nephi is more likely to use "Lord" instead of "God." Great catch!
I love the Book of Mormon and am loving this class. There is no shortage to what we can learn from this miraculous book. I do have one hang up. I never know when terms like Lord, God, Father are used whether they are referring to God the Father or Jesus Christ. I thought Lord usually referred to Jesus, but then people pray to the Lord and we are taught to pray to Heavenly Father. I would love any tips on how to determine who is being referred to, or do I not need to be concerned with it since they are one purpose?
I honestly lean towards the latter--since they are one in purpose I don't think Heavenly Father or Jesus Christ will be upset if we attribute the word "Lord" to one of them when it should apply to the other.
