Just got my IP a couple days ago and it's been non stop since lol. I've been watching recipe videos, but I really love yours:) I love your voice and your filming style. I feel like I'm sitting in your kitchen with a glass of wine, watching you cook. Very relaxing:) thanks, friend!-from New Brunswick, Canada

Wonderful video! I am french and I like choucroute which is the same thing but using different herbs. I also use pork chops or ham but kielbasa is great too! I love the instant pot. For 2 years I could not see till I received 2 cornea transplants. It was at that time that I bought an instant Pot so I could teach my husband how to cook our meals. He took to it like a duck to water. Have a great day!

Bonjour Joelle! I'm so happy that you were able to get those transplants! Isn't that amazing?! Thank you for the nice comment, I will have to look up choucroute. My husband hasn't touched my Instant Pot, lol! He does grill very well, though!

Excellent recipe. I'm going to adapt it to the slow cooker, since I don't have Instant Pot. As a fellow Washingtonian I love our wines too. I recently discover the Jones Winery. They're based in Quincy but I have found their wine in West Seattle supermarkets.

I just found you this morning, and am new to the amazing Instant Pot. I really enjoyed watching you. You mentioned something about asking people what they wanted to see. If it's not to late I would like to put my request in. I would like to see Chicken and Dumplings. Not the flat dumplings but the big fluffy ones made with flour and milk. Thank you for sharing your videos and educating me on the Insta Pot.

Grew up on kraut, potatoes and sausage. Doing your method right now but don’t have any carrots. It’s gonna be good! Thanks Sandy.

Definitely a delicious recipe, I make this all the time but your recipe is better, I could almost smell it. Wondering why you drain your sauerkraut though?

To keep the inner pot from spinning when you stir or sauté and stir, use a large binder clip to hold the inner pan in place. Just remove before putting lid on.

I got a "Burn" notice, even though I de-glazed and added all the liquid. What do you do when you get that notice. Love the recipe. I'm using a 8 quart Duo Instant Pot.

I made this recipe (2019 March 27). I was skeptical that sauerkraut could be made edible, but this dish was okay.

I enjoyed your video. Is “I’m gunna” a German or NW thing? It’s one of my family’s, German and NW ancestry, accent quirks. I’ve tried a similar dish with fresh cabbage. I’ll be trying it with kraut next time. I think your method of sauté then deglaze has a lot of merit.

6 whole black peppercorns, lightly crushed
    6 juniper berries, lightly crushed
    Large sprig of thyme
    2 bay leaves
Here are the ingredients that are in the french version. Of course it depends on what your family likes.

Can you buy bone broth? Never used it.

    • @SandyGClifton
      @SandyGClifton  7 років тому +1

Mark P Yes, but I wouldn't. If you use a good chicken stock you are good. If you ever want to make your own bone broth, (way cheaper, I'm sure), just start saving bones from meat you have cooked. Put them in the freezer. Look for my bone broth video, it takes you through how to make it. Cheers!

Try beer instead of wine....very mellow flavor.

It is unfortunate that real Polish kielbasa is not available everywhere. Most of the stuff marketed is not much better than a hot dog. Not knocking your recipe, that looks tasty. My grandmother made home made kielbasa into the 60's and she was Polish. Haven't tasted anything even close since then. The closest is Ostrowski's in Baltimore, MD. Even that lacks the flavor. I wish I knew her recipe.
