Hearing you laugh when you were copying Kevin’s voice made my entire day. Simply amazing Edit: You can also glitch into the safe house on world 1 with mega jump.
The mere fact that the developers knew about us trying to use the shadow sneaking powerup gadget for trying to bypass the two guards in the ballroom recon mission is certainly something I did not quite expect from them having that exact kind of future foresight.
Surprised no one has pointed this out yet. The pond in episode 3 you pointed out at 4:13 being treated as a bottomless pit was actually only added in the Ps3 re-release, in the Ps2 version you could jump down there just fine. I'm assuming the reason they made it a bottomless pit, though, is because if you jumped down as either Bentley or Murray... you got stuck. The only way out was to exit out to the episode menu
Here's a fun glitch with the Health Extractor that I used to do a lot as a kid, and that's triggering it while it's in the air. If it catches a guard while in the air, the guard will get caught in the vortex, but the extractor itself is still subject to physics while this is happening, making it roll off the floor while the guard is flailing about. I know this is true for Sly 3, but not sure now if it applies to Sly 2, but since they run on the same engine and framework, I believe it should still work. Additionally, enemies that get sucked into the extractor but then touch water or an instakill hazard cancels the extraction, allowing you to trigger it again repeatedly like some kind of reusable vacuum trap. If you managed to use the first glitch to roll the extractor off a ledge or into water, the extractor will kill the guard and remain floating in place, pointing up, allowing you use it like a vacuum trap again.
At the voice comparison bit, From what others said, I can definitely see and hear that you do sound a lot like Kevin! And it’s cool that they made T.O.M. a cheat code considering that toonami held some sly sweepstakes at the time of the original games’ releases.
Firstly I wanna thank the algorithm for leading me to this series of videos. Secondly I've seen every Sly 2 video you've done and I must say I love the approach you went into the breakdown of my favorite Sly game. Subbed and can't wait to see what you got in your sleeve. Keep it up
That video of you talking over the VA tripped me out hard, right before that I was like “is this one of those awesome videos where they have the games VA do the commentary? Like David hayter?”
Recently got myself a ps5 and started playing the sly collection again after all these years I still love the game and it’s so cool to see so many others still do too!
First of all: I had no idea how broken Sly 2 can be in a "New Game+", just makes a lot of the game stupidly easy. But I say it's fair, since you've beaten the game at least once, you should be allowed to do that. Second: Never really thought about the love triangle as a love triangle. Sly doesn't flirt with Carmalita that much, except for the intro, their dance, and the final boss fight. And his flirting with Neyla is cut short by her betrayal. It doesn't go that far. Sly and Carmalita's banter is done much more in Sly 3. Third: I'm ready for that Adventures of Sly Cooper Comic video. I don't know if you're going to cover it, but their is a book called "To Catch a Thief." I owned it, but I'm not sure what happened to it. From what I remember, it's a novelization of Volume 1 of the comics.
This was incredible! I never had Sly 2 growing up but have played it since and see why people love it so much, I had Sly 3 for the PS2, was the game I played the most to the point that I had to get a second copy cause I wore it down and wouldn't stop pestering my mom about getting it again so I have incredible nostalgia for the series even to the point of my online persona on most media being a racoon, all dating back to the Sly series, I have had dreams about the airplane fight with the black baron where i literally heard the sounds of the game in my dream, just like i played a cutscene from my own childhood, it was wild. So I cannot wait for you to cover Sly 3, but I really enjoy your style and have been watching quite a few of your videos over the past week and really enjoy them, looking forward for more!
AWESOME video dude! I might be able to help shed a little bit of light on the presence of the TOM gadget... Back in the days of Sly 1, Toonami ran a promotional contest that gave viewers the opportunity to score a PS2 and a copy of the first game. Maybe they did something similar for Sly 2? At the very least it explains the relationship between Toonami and Sly.
@0:45 don't trip, I often say "Blackwood's" by accident when referring to "Backwoods". Thanks for making such an entertaining series! Great voice over maybe you could team up with any passionate entrepreneurs planning on remaking or continuing the Sly series & youd take over as the new voice of sly! Glad there are other people out there who derive this much enjoyment from the second instalment of a video game series; as well. İ appreciate your organization, dedication, exploration and narration of this game as much as I do every one of the developers. Take care 1 love.
I don't think you know this but you can actually revisit the cabin that has Jean Bison in where you steal the train map things as other characters to fight him. Though I guess he's immune to every attack even Murray's when I tried defeating him
A glitch i discovered as a kid is in world 7 when you start a certain mission with murray, a mission about the bears . If you hold an enemy guard in your hands, start the mission, wait for the dialogue to finish, the enemy will go invisible. When you throw the enemy, you will clip under the map.
I looooved the mega jump as a kid. I replayed sly 2 (and 3) with an emulator and i managed to unlock the megajump from start in both games. My inner child felt blessed lol
21 10-80, as far as I'm aware is a report that there are complaints of a car chase. Hearing it in Carmelita's splash screen would probably serve to imply that she's a habitual reckless driver during her chases with the Cooper Gang, which would be supported by the cut-scene leading into it. Editing to say that while I _do_ believe this is the intent behind the code, I believe it's still wrong and should be 10-80 21, as I've always been told the 10 serves to indicate the following number[s] are code. I've never been in any police agency myself though, just have a lot of experience with them. I could be spreading some rookies' misconceptions.
Watching your earlier video covering the black chateau you mentioned that parts of the wine cellar level had collectible loot in the alpha version. You didn’t mention that weird tunnel yet (you did in this one at like 15:05) but I actually downloaded the alpha version just to see if there was anything in that version. There was not lol, but the climbable pipe is still there. Total anomaly of a room. I’ve always wondered what it was since I was a kid lmao.
I never even thought to look around when crawling under those laser fences. It felt incredible to explore new parts of a game I thought I had learned all there was to learn about.
@@MELONALDENTE I too went and downloaded the March 2004 prototype. In this version, there is an ashtray at the end of the tunnel. Wonder why it was placed there and why it were removed. Other than that, no changes
Theres a demo of sly 2 built into ratchet and clank 3. Has a few missions and the dialog is different in a few places to what was in the finished copy :3
If you return to the first cabin in Episode 6, you can still find Jean Bison roaming around. It's possible to kill him as Murray, but apparently it's very hard to do.
I just got here from your deep dive of sly 2 ( you did an amazing job btw) would love to see a one for 3 aswel. but in that video i was thinking he sounds really familiar with the OG voice actor kevin miller . Funny you metion that in this video the comment section was right
There was actually a glitch I recall on the ps2 versions of these games where if you hit an enemy and opened the bonocum at just the right time murrays hands would stay equipped with the flames indefinitely. It wouldn't damage the enemies like it had the powerup on but the effect stayed. Another one I recall was in Sly 3 where you could persmanetly give enemies the knockout effect if you were in the binocum. I forget how that was done tho Also on the ps2 version: If you landed on Clockla and fell off of her you'd fall into the dark void forever.
Thank you so much for making these game break down been binging them for the past week such an amazing job and I can all the love and care you’ve put into just this series will definitely be checking out your other videos as well! Just gained a loyal subscriber
There are several ways to get out of bounds. It is possible in one of the huts in Canada in Episode 6. It is also possible from the other in door area i Episode 5. One of the most obscure ones is to glitch jump out of the spice production area in Episode 3. I think most of the safe houses are accessible through glitching too, not only episode 2.
I remember being able to go back into the peacock sign hole and i would just explore around. Thought i could do the same in the remaster didnt work tho.
Can someone tell me when you unlock the little leap you can do? It’s in the top right of the gadget screen. I’m doing a play through after years and I cannot remember when you unlock it
in terms of the love triangle thing, i’ve always thought that with how adventurous and charismatic Sly is, he’d realistically probably be into polyamory or something like that. obviously he has hella chemistry with Carmelita, but he gets to go all around the world and there’s no way he wouldn’t use his charms on all sorts of ladies from all those countries
I absolutely despise all "do this thing you don't have to do" achievements, I don't care about glory, I only want achievements as a mark of completion, killing 3 badgers without touching the ground isn't completion
Hearing you laugh when you were copying Kevin’s voice made my entire day. Simply amazing

The mere fact that the developers knew about us trying to use the shadow sneaking powerup gadget for trying to bypass the two guards in the ballroom recon mission is certainly something I did not quite expect from them having that exact kind of future foresight.
Neyla and Rajan being related makes his line “Who is that F I N E tiger lady sneaking through the woods?” that much more out of pocket lol
5 words. stealth slide on train tracks
I have now tried this, and am deeply sad I didn’t know of it before making this video
this is the way

On the minute 3:40 when you are reading "Aquilles" what it actually says is Aquellos ojos verdes, which means those green eyes
