I must admit that the Ghost is my favourite hero ship, and a substantial part of it is the fact it can both hold a capable smaller ship and use it as a powerful turret when docked.
@@justindunlap1235 And maybe, just maybe, a tertiary hyperdeive and power plant in case the primary and secondary systems on the main ship fail, the shuttle would have to be fairly overpowered in order to provide a meaningful backup but I reckon Hera would make it so.
The Phantom might actually be considered a Pinnace. Not quite a fighter, not quite a small shuttle, but a hybrid of the two that does double duty as either (or both) as needed.
Another thing is that this is the perfect class of ships for the rebellion. It too tough for a TIE fighter, too maneuverable for a Star Destroyer’s Turbolaser, has too much firepower for a TIE bomber to bomb it, and can take on medium picket ships like the Gazonti by it self.
@@Kishanth.J you forgot the most important thing for the rebellion. the low crew requirement (1 pilot and and astromech) which was the reason the Rebellion used fighters and locked the Y-Wings turret gun in the rear position
The Old Republic Thunderclap was a true special forces beast. Firepower maneuverability and speed is still unmatched. Only downside was the expensive yearly maintenance cost.
Rebels definitely grew on me and The Ghost quickly became my favourite design. I was SO happy to see her in Rogue One. She's just such a perfect design.
I am a huge fan of the Rebels show, and with it a huge fan of the Ghost. Decades before in the old Star Wars RPG by West End, I made a heavily modified YT-1300 that had three decks that included a catch and release system for a modified A-Wing. Imagine my glee when I saw a ship that was a spiritual sister to that ship.
I did a rp where the nose of the X-wing got modded to act as a small cargo hold where it was as thick as the engine area with a rounded nose for bit more cargo... Keeping it a fighter that could smuggle a few people or small loads like that.
I've been a big fan of The Ghost since episode one of Rebels. For one thing, it's a design that makes sense in both internal and external forms and it's got that right mixture of Flying Fortress and Sneaky Freight mover.
The reason why the ghost didn’t reroute power to the hull to disable the tracker was because the grand inquisitor was using the force to track Kanan and Ezra
I never knew that navigation systems in Star Wars were sentient. That would be like someone arguing with the GPS in their car but then the GPS shows them an image of a middle finger.
I'd only guess the extremely difficult nature of attaching and connecting a Phantom-like shuttle. We know how intricately connected they are, which Hera did specifically.
I think my favourite thing about your breakdowns is the "ANYTHING BUT THE METRIC SYSTEM" energy you bring to contextualizing the size. "This ship is 42000 bananas long" (Hyperbole, but I do genuinely love those parts of the videos-on multiple levels)

The Ghost is easily my favorite small ship that isn't a fighter/bomber/interceptor or corvette. It also gets bonus points for the B-17 inspiration, but it's got some of the best & most impressive feats in canon for a ship like that, period. So ww2 aircraft have always been an interest of mine since I was a little kid, seen countless of them at various museums around the country through my life. But anyway getting to more recent history, about 15 years ago I found out about this air show that comes to my area about once a year, I think I've been about 4-5 times over the years? The organization had a B-17, B-24, B-25, a trainer P-51 Mustang, and later on they got another bomber from the Pacific theater that I'm not too familiar with. So a couple of years ago the B-17 was doing one of the paid flights around the state during the show, I think they run like half hour to an hour... well it experienced some mechanical failure and crashed at our state's largest airport, killing everyone on board. That was an especially sad day, not just for the lives lost but the piece of history lost as well. Rip Nine O' Nine.
ngl, I think this is the only ship that rivals the rogue shadow for me as the best ship to posses in star wars as "home" ship. I would still give the rogue shadow the edge tho. It was literally designed by engineers with anakin and has the sickest stealth mechanics ever.
I like the ghost mroe than the millennium falcon, namely because it's semetrical over the cockpit to the side, which must make it tricky to fly also I like how the chost has seemingly more weapons as well as a separate starship for itself
@@tyler_bt3326 comparing the sideways angle of a car compared to the millennium phalcon is not at all comparable, I mean, look at that thing, it makes sense since it's suppose to only move cargo for the design it has, but come on, those flying skills must be more on the AI operated computer than than or anyone else flying it
Hera must of really upgraded her cannons if she can breach both the shields and that armor on a Gozanti Class ship that is renown for its thick armor with such ease.

Ghost (and Phantom) was basically a perfect home AND mobile base for rebel crew...the design, functions, versatility...all and all it is a perfect ship really
The Ghost is probably one of the best examples of a light freighter Technical in star wars. A Freighter ship that is armed to the teeth and can function as a home. I really like the external cargo container clamps. In my opinion that makes the most sense because the ship can land and unload who knows what, preserve the security (and privacy) of the cargo, and is quicker than carrying everything by hand.

Ironically enough, there was a Because Science episode about doing a blind Hyperspace jump and, despite the fact that it was possible that the risks Han mentioned could happen... You could, theoretically, hop back and forth from one end of the galaxy to the other at least 86 times before there was a more than likely chance to actually impact something. Using our own galaxy as reference, of course.

Dang, I like the Ghost even more now and am surprised how long she's been around and that she has a rivalry with the Falcon. Pretty impressed to what she is capable of especially with Hera and the Rebels behind all her controls, even though this gave my spoilers to a lot of things, except Rouge One, I didn't even know she showed up. I just got spoilers for Rebels Season 2-4, Mando, Boba?, Ashoka?, Rise of Skywalker and anything else in-between as well as I didn't know they were present during the battle of Endor and the Battle of Jakku. Learned a whole lot today
Though the rivalry with the falcon doesn't really have a point as the Ghost is of a different sub-class of armed Corellian "freighters". It's almost twice as big in internal cargo volume, it also has a far higher sustained speed capacity, likely far larger fuel capacity, larger crew comfort and carries a fully integrated armed exploration shuttle capable enough to match most pirate or private security snub fighters. The Ghost also had it's after market upgrades a lot more skillfully applied and integrated with Hera beeing a much better and well funded astromech herself than either Han or Chewie and the assistance of Chopper, plus the Mon-Cala starship engineer/designer, making the Ghost far more reliable and well maintained than the Falcon ever was after Lando lost her to Han...😂
I don’t know why they say the blast took out Ahsoka. Didn’t the blast initially just separate her and Vader? Which would be a fitting way to book the ending of their fight. It wasn’t until later they did the heavenly grab
The ghost is one of my favorite Correllian ships’ like a Winnebago with laser turrets’ perfect for a guerilla cell to hit and run then blend seamlessly into crowde areas without raising alarms
This is one of those small freighters that seems to be able to haul an actually useful amount of cargo once internal and external space is accounted for. A small convoy of them even has self escorting capabilities due to the snub fighter each has.
So, the best ship, saved for the falcon, and the hands down best star wars animated series, all are tied to the whole story. The fact that the creators actually put the ghost in the battle of exagoal, as well as rouge one, it just makes me want to watch them over and over again.
The ship seems so much smaller in the TV show, but then now i remember it has a big giant cargo hold, smaller cargo holds, engineer station above that, big cockpit with sitting are behind it, 2 gun pods, lounge, gallery, and a whole nother ship out the back
How did they board the phantom when it was docked... the original only had one entrance that I remember, and that was the back door that pivoted upwards similar to the doors of a DeLorean. Which wouldn't be possible while docked
As someone who was introduced to Star Wars by rebels the ghost and falcon both scream that they’re the Toyota pickups of the galaxy, highly modifiable and common enough to keep imps off their tail. I can’t wait for Ahsoka
I think Hyper space jumping with out calculating the rout can be done if you use the weaker back up Hyper Drive first. The. Drop out of HS recoulcapate the jump back into it at much higher speeds.

Yep, I always thought that was an ideal setup, have the shuttle docking rig act as the turret ring.

It retracts into the phantom. You can sometimes see it extend as it exits the ghost.

The ghost is one of my favorite Correllian ships’ like a Winnebago with laser turrets’ perfect for a guerilla cell to hit and run then blend seamlessly into crowde areas without raising alarms
The VCX-100 is such a versatile ship. It's great as a freighter, troop transport, gunship, houseboat, or patrol ship.
This is one of those small freighters that seems to be able to haul an actually useful amount of cargo once internal and external space is accounted for. A small convoy of them even has self escorting capabilities due to the snub fighter each has.

I grew up with the Falcon being the original OP spec ops ship. Over time, the Ghost has most certainly become my favorite ship on all of Star Wars.

So, the best ship, saved for the falcon, and the hands down best star wars animated series, all are tied to the whole story.
The fact that the creators actually put the ghost in the battle of exagoal, as well as rouge one, it just makes me want to watch them over and over again.
Why did anyone use fighters and bombers at all when every second freighter Modell can fill out any role 2x better?
The ship seems so much smaller in the TV show, but then now i remember it has a big giant cargo hold, smaller cargo holds, engineer station above that, big cockpit with sitting are behind it, 2 gun pods, lounge, gallery, and a whole nother ship out the back

How did they board the phantom when it was docked... the original only had one entrance that I remember, and that was the back door that pivoted upwards similar to the doors of a DeLorean. Which wouldn't be possible while docked

As someone who was introduced to Star Wars by rebels the ghost and falcon both scream that they’re the Toyota pickups of the galaxy, highly modifiable and common enough to keep imps off their tail. I can’t wait for Ahsoka

I would add room for an assault vehicle in one of the holds similar to He-Man's Attack Track with a portable speeder bike.

I really like the Ghost, it is in my top five favorite ships, which is hard to get to. It sits at spot 4, just barely beating the Loknar Class.

I think Hyper space jumping with out calculating the rout can be done if you use the weaker back up Hyper Drive first. The. Drop out of HS recoulcapate the jump back into it at much higher speeds.
