I’m gonna level with you guys. Rockstar’s reputation is…..somewhat exaggerated. Clearly, I was a different person back in 2010, cause coming back to play this game with a new set of eyes...it's a bit over appreciated. Is it a great game? Yes. Is it the masterpiece that many claim it is? Nope.

I think the reason the government didn't go after jack and abagail is because they didn't want to kill any women and children and since there is no proof that mary beth or tilly died in RDR its safe to say that the government wouldn't kill women and jack was technically a kid so they probably didn't think he would seek revenge 3 years later because remember jack and john's relationship wasn't that good to begin with
No proof most of the people who survived RDR 2 died either. Charles and Sadie could still be alive.

I think it was just the fighting members that the Bureau was going after. At no point did Jack, Pearson, Tilly, Mary Beth, etc. actually fight in RDR2. Charles and Sadie could have easily been dead by that time too (considering their lifestyles and the time period itself), as there was a four-year gap between the end of RDR2 and the beginning of RDR1.
Jack, Charles, Sadie, Abigail, Tilly, Susan and all of the other girls in the gang survive.

You cant sin the first game with the prequel, you just cant. Its like saying kingdom hearts 1 sucks because of the proceeding games
But if the story of the prequel leaves inconsistencies in the story of the original game, then it is a continuity error. Doesn't mean the game sucks though. Still a good game regardless.

In Kingdom Hearts 1, the keyblade is a special sword that can only be given to pure hearted warriors, but later games retconned that and made it so that theyre so common that you can find literally billions of them in later games. This isnt a plot hole for kingdom hearts 1, but for kingdom hearts birth by sleep.
More so, im upset that he's doing rdr but not rdr2
Even further, to reference the sequel as though we, the audience, have played it, also doesnt work well.

Yeah, and John had been a part of the Van Der Linde gang since he was a kid and Javier joined in 1895 so that's at least 4 years of bonding that could have happened before Red Dead Redemption 2

Well the entire squad of Arthur Bill John Javier And all other men was known as the sons of dutch, that was told in rdr2. Being a brother doesnt necessarily mean they had good relations.
Hell even Micah called Arthur his brother, allthough both hated each other, micah said that they are brothers and brothers make mistakes, after you rescue him from strawberry.

To be fair regenarative health makes sense in a game where your character can't avoid taken damage, its random whether or not the enemy hits you in a open space, since the bullets are hit scan and there is no option of steath.
If that wasn't the case the game would need a big amount of health kits every where (or make It unlimited)to not make it feel unfair.
You’re wild. The mission where you save Bonnie was really good & the raid on Fort Mercer was amazing. The game was definitely good before you got to Mexico.
Seriously tho do u rly think they planned for a prequel? How is jack supposed to know the names of people that only appeared in a game that came out 8 years after this one?
The Proto The second game’s script was being written during production of the first game. The first draft was completed in 2012.
EDIT: While Arthur and the rest weren’t named in the first game, they were thought up at the time.

I mean even if you were right and they hadn’t thought of the prequel/sequel yet (I know it’s a pre but it’s a pre that came after) it still doesn’t make sense because you’d expect someone to know the names of their dads former outlaw gang years later if you were aware enough to still remember the others he didn’t mention. Like even in retcons or other sequel situations, it just always throws off the immersion or breaks the storytelling when new stuff is added later they don’t make characters aware of in previous entries when those events chronologically happen after said new details. I try to ignore it myself and I get that sometimes when building lore and this whole timeline / other world people have creativity that doesn’t let them think of everything in enough advance which creates this situation. But it’s still a valid argument that the creator or creators behind these works should try and plan it out earlier to address this stuff so it can be better or at least not break us out of the story when we know more. Like a simple mention of “you think I didn’t hear Dutch, bill, and Arthur tell those stories?” Like one or two names from the gang besides just the two we saw would be enough. If the rest weren’t thought of, that alone would be enough to say “okay maybe those are the ones jack remembers most” and not that he just neglects to mention anyone else besides the 2-3 we saw in this game out of the 20+ gang members.

Sin 6: if you remember the next scene John is laying on the ground with Vultures ready to eat his corpse so the only reason he did survive was cause Bonnie found him in time.
Sin 7: yes however you must have forgot Bill Williamson was the most wanted Bandit in the county, he had no reason to expect someone to come up to Fort Mercer or even willingly ride by and happen to pick up John thus saving his life.

Sin 9: no if John died the government would have no reason to hold Abigal and Jack hostage anymore. If John died they'd be free. Now you're probably thinking, "well they come to their house at the end to kill them" no they showed up to kill John, when John died they never went after Abigal or Jack.

Sin 11: game came out in 2010 neither gta5 or rdr2 have this so it is gone. Also most times there's always 3 or 4 available missions so if one isnt at the right time go do another

About the honor system: there are a few things it does. 1. It affects the prices of store items. Low honor is expensive with the exception of Thieves' Landing where the worse you are the cheaper the items. And 2: you get a low honor specific horse that looks cool, but it's the slowest one in the game.

Sin #2 is Subjective as everyone thinks differently when things get interesting/Good. I personally believe it starts picking up as soon as you meet the Martial. Picks up even more once you take down fort Mercer and once you’ve got The ability to paint your targets with Deadeye in Mexico. You’ve pretty much got the rest of the game in the bag.

Red dead redemption isn't overrated, I actually prefer it to the sequel.
I like both games equally, even though they both have faults. John does some really stupid things in the first game, and there are some weird plot moments. The second game has some spotty controls that are inconsistent, and I wish Arthur had a more concrete personality, instead of sometimes a good gu, sometimes a bad guy.

I considered RDR1 to be a Masterpiece and RDR2 the Somewhat Flawed Masterpiece.
I have my reasons why i believe this. Such as some control issues, some mechanics not being explained correctly or early enough in the game and some areas could have been polished a bit more but for the most part its only about 5% that I believe is flawed to the game. Nothing big.
I like rdr2 more. Only because ive been having a lot of problems with the first game recently. And 2 is a prequel

Also in the epilogue you can roam New Austin as you like, even clearing out Fort Mercer while in RDR1 he needs Jake (the guide from Armadillo) to even find the seemingly unknown place lmao

12:37 if u try to go across the bridge early, there are workers still building on it, the same for Blackwater, but Blackwater's is stupid because u can easily cross the lake near McFarlane's ranch but when ur not allowed to go over there yet, u just die when u cross (like it shows u falling through the water) even tho the lake is VERY shallow XD

@xXsmitten_KittenXx i always got to blackwater early, there is a spot you can stand on near the waterfall at bonnies ranch that says tall trees, commit a crime, get seen and wait for the law to chase you, ride to said spot dismount and surrender and you end up in blackwater jail, when they let you out you can explore everywhere.
Actually they kept pushing the health benefits of smoking all the way up to the 1950's
