- Mono vigilance control decks are somewhat underexplored right now, packing all of the best removal, healing, and some underexplored cards that can completely stymie aggro while still giving you plenty of end game advantage to close out against slower decks.
In today's profile, we go over this Mono Blue Director Krennic deck that plays few Turn 1 plays to ensure its late game edge is sharp - and by doing so, enables some of the strongest mid game drops in the game! Let's jump in!

I play a blue green krennic Deck at my locals. Advantages being that the green base gives you more ways to instantly handle Boba Fett or Sabine. Ramp is good and Darth Vader is really strong ( I only play the 1 I pulled because he is so expensive). Being able to handle Sabine directly is honestly the most important thing since 4 out of 6 players at my locals are currently playing her. Typically I like to play aggro decks in most card games but since my meta is already dominated by aggro, I really wanted to try out a deck that attempts to control and it not only worked really well so far, it was also a lot of fun!
Blue Green Krennic is a lot of fun too! If you have a lot of Sabine you are dealing with, I do recommend trying out this double blue one. Childsen's consistency and getting to play Vigilance for 4 and Protector for 1 give you some really, really strong early-mid game plays to contend with her. You can Takedown her with either variant, of course. Either way, glad you've found a deck that you enjoy the playstyle of too!

I'm still sceptical on Krennic. The deck looks fun, but I'm just not sure % wise versus a good Sabine or hard control. Maybe I gotta take another look! Vigi (and all the aspect cards) IN aspect does really seem to be a good way to build a deck and people are definitely realising this.
Hard control is definitely the hardest matchup, and Sabine is a very favorable matchup. Death Trooper trades super well into wide boards - even better in Krennic where he makes himself 4 power as well - and if Sabine isn't running Power Failure (very rare) or the Yellow variant, it's got to ram at least two cards into Childsen to get anywhere, possibly more if you use your Security Complex on him and they don't immediately have some Saboteur available.
Sabine will get to push SOME damage, but the combination of Krennic's Restore 2, Vigilance, and Cargo Juggernaut can easily keep you topped off in G1 unless you really aren't seeing ANYTHING in your draws. I can't stress how useful Protector on Krennic is as well, which even stymies the Yellow variant as Waylay can't bounce the sentinel anymore. A 3/8 sentinel on T4 that becomes a 4/8 after dealing damage - and often follows up a 6/6 sentinel and accompanies a Takedown that turn - just too much to handle!
And as we expect siding in additional Saboteur and/or Wolffe, we do side in G2-3 to make things even easier. I usually pull out 2x SLB, 2x Avenger, a Gideon, and a Vanquish for 2x Make an Opening, 3x Baze. and the 3rd Protector. This removes some of the cards that are really used for longer Midrange games and adds a little more healing/removal, and some serious consistency at hitting those early game sentinels.
I hope you give it a shot. I know you've been unsure of Krennic for a while, but I can't stress how huge the +1 damage is for making your trades more favorable. That advantage builds up over a game!

If I have General Krell and another unit on my board for him to give his When Defeated ability to, and my opponent plays Super Laser Blast, do I draw a card still?
Yes, the unit had When Defeated when the SLB resolved, so you will get the card!
havent even on side some restock? are you not afraid against others with vigilance?
