The good news is that once you have your playset of Vader it opens up a lot of options, you're not paying a fortune just for 1 or 2 decks. Also Vader is the only expensive card of this deck.
@@SteelfurSpeaks Honestly I think it's not that some people are buying out Vader, the issue is the majority of meta decks all use him, eg. Vader Ramp, Green Boba, and Krennic Ramp. Everyone wants Vader and with pull rates not as high as we would've hoped, this is why the price is quite high.
Thanks for the comprehensive, thorough, deck analysis as always! I know ECL has the best base ability from a powerlevel standpoint but are you looking at doing any non-green decks - or do you think they're just not as good? I know your Han deck didn't use ECL but it still had a Green base.
@@Thorrk_THTAwesome - looking forward to it! Also, just wanted to just say how cool it is that you dive into the comments and respond to pretty much everyone even as your channel has been rapidly expanding recently. Really builds up a sense of community and is so cool to see!
Would be fun, but can’t afford 3 Vader cards. For the price of 3 Vaders I can pick up a bunch of other Legendary cards like all the double aspects (which will be top tier with set 2)
Thanks Thorrk. Even though probably not going to playing control, I am confident I have a great deck to test against. Might even be able to make it with Vader replacements suggested.
Went 4-1 yesterday in b01s. The system patrol craft singlehandedly won a game against sabine. I took a walker and a resupply out for avenger and a dooku since there wouldn't be any siding. The Dooku came out once but was worth it to snipe Iden immediately. My loss was to palpatine. I got him down to 9 and was still at full but i couldn't close it out before he started dropping every single star destroyer on me and turned it around hard
For a Blue/Black/green control shell, Tarkin is not really a consideration, you can't run him with ECL which is a massive deal. The ability is not so useful in the context of a control deck and he has no way to gain your life which I feel is very important for a control archetype. So Tarkin belongs to a different deck altogether.
Loved this video Thorrk. Like you said, this deck is reactive especially for the meta. My meta is primarily boba and sabine. and also our tournaments are best of 1. How would you go about the MD using your list.
I used to play entrenched which can also be used as a removal against big space units. But entrenched has disappeared from the list because of its counter synergy with Power of the dark side. I think staff could be worth trying as a 1 or 2 of, but my feeling is that I don't like giving my opponent more reason to play anti upgrade when I am playing traiterous.
@Thorrk_THT I think you are right about it being OK with death trooper, but without it is really bad. Even with death trooper it is just OK and gets traded with. Maybe I just need to try it more.
What are your thoughts on cards like Rukh or Academy Defense Walker to in place of some of the upper end cards like super laser blast and avenger? I have a lot of sabine and leia players at my LGS
Rukh is terrible against aggro, Academy defense walker is ok but gets hard countered by SpecForce soldier. This list is already very geared against aggro, but if you want to make it even more anti-aggro place the anti-aggro card in side in the main deck, and/or consider adding some repairs in side. Repair is basically a reverse For a Cause I believe in for 1, it's very good against Sabine.
For Childsen to be worth it you really need to get at least 3 blue cards in hand which is very hard to do when only a third of the deck is blue. The deck would have to go through significant changes to accommodate that, and ultimately i don't think it's worth it. However, Childsen is excellent in Mono blue Krennic.
How Traitors are working with S Tech? Attachment is unattached when you get defeated, so we got 2 triggers right? So how return it to the owner works against put as resource reaction?
I am not a rule nerd so don't quote me on that but the controller decides from which order things get resolved, so in this case you you resolve the SLT when the defeat effect and then put the traitorous in the discard. Whether I am right or wrong on how exactly it happens, it has been confirmed that you indeed get the resource.
@@DietrichSz I would consider it yes if you like that playstyle. I think you can anticipate a lot of aggro, and this version will do well against aggro if played properly
Hey there, I've noticed lists trying to use Emperor's Royal Guard in place of cell block guard for Krennic. I was hoping to get your opinion on that. I'm guessing it makes our deck worse and less consistent to get the -official- buff online.
So yes if you want to play Royal guard, you kind of have to play official 2-drops which imo are not great atm. and even then you still gonna encounter consistency issues. Imo it's not worth the sacrifice and I would rather play the best 2-drops and have a unit that ALWAYS has sentinel.
@@Thorrk_THT Thank you! I'd love to see your take on Palpatine in the future. It seems you can either go blue or red and in my opinion Emperor's Royal Guard is reason enough to take the deck to a competitive level. The deck will still struggle with lack of viable officials though so I have been sitting back until next set so far.
BEST review of a deck i've seen in a long long time. Was insane with plenty of details about every single Card. Follow 100% thanks!
Thanks :)
I’m learning so much about this game from your videos! Merci! 🙏
Krennic gang reporting in. Love the deck. Really enjoy mono blue too. Another good video!
Mono Blue is fun too but unfortunately not as competitive , there is simply way more upsides to running green than running double blue atm.
Really like how you highlighted the core cards vs Aggro and boba matchups
Sadly Vader is so expensive. Went up crazy high.
VAder and Boba are like 40-50£ in Europe. Some people are definitely buying out the market, really closes certain decks off which is a shame.
The good news is that once you have your playset of Vader it opens up a lot of options, you're not paying a fortune just for 1 or 2 decks.

Great video! I'd like to put in a request for a Thrawn Green deck or anything thrawn other than the Thrawn blue that we see everywhere.
I have no experience with Thrawn green and I am not confident that it's a very good deck, so I won't be covering it anytime soon.
Tarkin, blue is the best !
I like the definition of Iden vs Krennic. What do you think about Tarkin though? I feel like he also has similar components.

I would refuse playing a competitve event without sideboard it strongly advantages aggro over other decks
From what I heard it's coming from FFG for weekly play @@Thorrk_THT
@@Thorrk_THT Let me rephrase, for weekly tournaments it's best of 1. Is that the same for you in Europe?
Hello, will you update this list w/ the new set ? ty
Yes I will
How do you feel about electrostaff or other upgrades to throw on Krennic as soon as he flips? Feels like it’s helped in keeping him alive

The 2 drop bikes arent good enough imho. Need to replace them with something, not sure what though.
I think the card is decent enough, you can replace it by regional governor or admiral piett.

Hey Thork what would u say are the most important things to think about in the mirror in krennic
Steadfast battalion on turn 3/4 and power of the dark side are the cards I would be carefully playing around.
@@Thorrk_THT any other card i should have in sideboard that really wins the matchup?
@@lmSoHumble it's all in the video , blast, vanquish, devastator and Avenger

Hmmm it depends the problem is that in control mirror it will get hard countered by avenger and devastator
