If you're looking for a strong pigmented make up you will not find it in Korea. The purpose is to seem naturally beautiful. They don't even use highlighter sometimes: they put the foundation only on the centre of the face to have a natural glowing
only thing i would say is korean makeup styles are NOTHING like american that we're used to. so eyeshadows and bronzers are not going to be super super pigmented. koreans also often have thinner or fewer eyelashes than caucasians therefor wanting a different kind of mascara formula! korean makeup is a lot of glitter shadows and lips. not much pigmented eyeshadows or anything (: very natural and youthful which is pretty much the opposite of over here in the west!! just something to keep in mind before saying you're disappointed in certain products. they're made for their market. anyway, love you! love your videos! none of that was a criticism hahaha
Came to say the same thing, Korean make up is more natural-looking so the colors and pigments are not as vibrant as western brands I personally love the colors in that palette :)
I LOVE Korean makeup for my acne prone skin. It's the only thing that I have ever found that never breaks me out. Peri Pera Ink Cover Lasting Foundation is the best hands down and so is the Saem Concealer 💯👌
Sebum control means oil control never put a Korean product that says sebom control any where you don’t sweat. Also eyeshadow in Korea is worn and applied very differently. So the eyeshadows are made for the Korean market Also the lip tints are usually applied alone they are not meant to be over lipsticks.
K-beauty products are the bomb! I love them so much. They look sooo natural upon application but still very buildable. That’s why most Korean makeup tend to gravitate toward the neutral colors for a more natural overall look. Very subtle. The thing I like about the products so much is that most of them are makeup + skincare in 1! 😅 The point to K-beauty is the “no makeup” makeup look. And there is a huge difference with the eyeshadow application with Western makeup. This look actually wears well on you! 💖
Thought this was gonna be a Korean skincare video because of how flawless your skin is lol, it’s SO nice to see influencers with blonde eyebrows & eyelashes with paaaaaale skin cuz every girl (including me) is told my blonde eyebrows & eyelashes & skin color is gross but when I see it on you you look stunning! I know talking about a lack of representation in media is a conversation that doesn’t normally center around pale people (as it shouldn’t , there is so much more injustice and prejudice to fight for WOC in the beauty community & our societies’ forced expectations of what women should look like) but it is genuinely healing to me to see that a “ghostly” complexion can be beautiful
Korean Eyeshadows are not meant to blend, they are supposed to be light and sheer because they like the natural look. Although, the prices for "natural look" or "no makeup makeup look" makeup is ridiculously expensive when the pigment is quit low. Ii hope that they filler ingredients are worth that steep price.
I enjoy researching Korean products, in part because my SIL is Korean. She's a bit older than me - and her focus is definitely skincare... good moisturizer. The 12 step thing? She says noone has time for all of that! LOL! When she does wear makeup, her skin is so perfect, I'm honestly never sure. Always a pinkish red lip, dark mascara but very natural, everything just so subtle i can't tell if she's wearing any at all. She said for her and her friends and family, you always want to look natural - not "made up". One of the best brands she said is by SulWahSoo (?) It's quite expensive but one of her sister gifts it to her regularly.
My favorite has to be from Missha; its their Perfect Cover BB Cream in #13 (which is being discontinued). It is the perfect shade for my fair, neutral-olive skin!
The Saem Concealer is the BEST concealer I have ever used, and I have used high end and low end. I have very sensitive, acne prone skin with oily T-Zone skin as well. It stays on all day and never breaks me out or clogs my pores. Also the Too Cool for School Art Class Rodin Highlighter is AMAZING! It's like a skin beautifier, it makes your skin glowy and gorgeous, I have used it for years Highly recommend
I think the eye shadows are not as pigmented as we Westerns are used to because their kind of makeup is very natural. They don't usually wear bright and pigmented shadows so I think they work how they should. Beautiful look😍😍
It's no surprise that K beauty is softer and on the subtle side, what I don't understand is when you basically set your whole eye with a light shadow and accuse the darker shadow not showing.
She used the light eyeshadow as a base to brighten her lid allowing for the colors on top to be more pigmented. Its very common though usually it’s done with a lighter concealer.
You give the best reviews of the products that you use. I love how thorough you are. Side note.... I have the same headband and I love it. It’s so soft and it looks pretty.
The mascara helps Asian straight lashes curled. You should try curling your lashes first and then using the mascara. It’s the only mascara that keeps my lashes curled all day.
I was four times in Korea and I love Etude House Brand! I had their blush for more than 2 years! You have to try their day cream :) Will you have some tutorials with Catrice or Revolution? Its very popular in Czech Republic. I love Catrice with their products but Revolution not so much.. thank you for your videos!!! Love you! Barbara 😍
The eyes are more my style. I like a natural look for myself and the colors appeal to me. Trendy is difficult for 40 plus. Please do more product reviews with those colors...love it.
The foundation looked lovely and natural on your skin, it’s something that I’d wear because if it lasted between 4-6 hours then that’s pretty good for me because that’s about all the time I need a foundation to work for me, I wonder how it would perform using a beauty blender or a brush to get a little more coverage and staying power, but honestly the completed look, looked lovely on you and Bonus points for hearing little Emm in the background as always, would love for Andrey to turn the camera around to see what he thinks of it all while filming Lol 😂. Great video as always. Cheers from Queensland Australia 🇦🇺😍😍...have you tried the L’Oreal Fresh Wear Powder foundation, that one seems to have good reviews.
With the eyeshadow palette you have to remember that in Korean society make up looks very natural. You wouldn't expect them to be all that pigmented. I think you really should have learned how to do a Korean makeup look to really understand how to use the products and why they are formulated certain ways.
you dont need setting powder with korean products, they contain most moisture instead of oil. so no need to set the concealer and put powder over forehead which then absorb all the moisture and make it crease. i dont do baking when using korean products and it last. u need to see ingredients with no alcohol and not the brands. the cushion without primer does really look better, more natural again if you have good moistruzed skin doesnt need primer.

Cushions are definitely sooo convenient to touch up your make up, sadly is still hard for me to find a good color match, although some korean companies have been extending their range of shades lately.
I’m East Asian and majority of my friends and families use minimal to no makeup. Usually we start putting a bit more as we age because that’s when we need some “help” 😆😂 We focus on skincare though. I’m already educating my daughter the same thing since she’s born in the States I’m hoping she doesn’t put a ton of makeup like the girls here. I want her to look young and natural.
I think you look beautiful. The only suggestion I would give is to use more setting powder on ur forehead. It was still shining when you were done with make up
Korean eyeshadow is expensive for what it is and what it is is the sheer "no make up makeup look" kind of makeup. If you want highly pigmented makeup, try OVANAF Beauty's eyeshadows. They are PIG-MENT-ED! A 5 pan compact is like $6.00 and a 15 pan palette is $8.00 (the 15 pan is the size of an average adult hand.) They only formulate cream products atm but they are worth a try! I got their Halloween Palette a few years ago and I'm still digging into it. Although, in 2018, the palette was $24.00 not $6.00 and the company was called Nana Anns Beauty Products. Would you recommend the concealer? How did you feel it at the end of the day? Looking for options with good coverage but without the cakey-crusty feeling and look I get with tarte’s shape tape.
She’s not liking the products because she’s applying them the wrong way, the Korean makeup products is not supposed to be applied in an American way. For example the lipstick, she’s putting the lip tint on the whole lips while it’s supposed to be just a part of them and the blush, she’s putting it on the wrong spot and that’s why it doesn’t look as good as it’s supposed to do.
