I am well educated, versed and experienced as a musician and a collector of music that matters. Before online music I had 3500plus compact discs, for example. I kid you not, I have TWO copies of becoming x. That album is, even if by accident, one of the best recordings ever made. An absolute masterpiece from start to finish. Here are two more examples of that type of brilliance for your reference. Morcheeba/Who can You trust...
Hooverphonic/Stereophonic Sound Spectacular... It was a very special time for music.
See, yeah. I had a mixtape with Hooverphonic on one side and Becoming X on the other side. My teenage cousin and her best friend enjoyed it immensely in 1997 so I made them copies. Remember stepping into a club that summer and hearing the Armand von Helden remix of Spin Spin Sugar and seeing the responses from everyone. What a great time for music.
I had the Quango comps and all the CD singles at the time. The Americuuiser Remix brought me here. Brilliant

She was a singer put in the band by the record label. Maybe you've never been in a band? The two friends continued, made the music they wanted to; being in a band and making music is meant to be fun and rewarding. I dunno where the take, which is a weird rather sociopathic dysfunctional insight into human interaction and camaraderie comes from.
You say dumped like she did anything but add vocals. The songs she wrote for them were horrible.

Gonna be that guy (gen z here, so forgive me)... I discovered Sneaker Pimps via GTA V... Strange way to discover such a great band such as SP, but to this day it´s still a relatively underground band or a cult classic. Never hit the mainstream but the band is absolutely adored by trip-hop aficionados and 90s old heads. And even though that burst of nostalgia doesn´t hit me like folks who heard it back in those times, it feels like I´ve always known and heard this band before V. From 6 Underground to checking out the rest of their stock from the Becoming X album, I haven´t been able to get these guys out of my head. Low Place Like Home, Walking Zero, How Do, and Tesko Su1c1d3 (my favorite) just hit my sound receptors a little differently. Wasn´t a part of the time period where this type of music flourished in but it has that kind of timeless sound that generations to come would pick this up. Well... hopefully. If they have any ears of objectively stellar music. Sneaker Pimps are one of those bands that have me longing for a time period I never partook in. Big thanks to Mr. Corner, Liam Howe, the beautiful Kelli Ali and the band´s contributers and former members.

I love her voice on this record too, but they were Chris’s songs the entire time. I don’t get why people are still obsessed with her or why the conversation is always centered on only one of them being good. They both have amazing voices. Bloodsport and Splinter were both great.

@@LittleKoneko well, there's a difference in seeing someone in a music video and just listening on a tune. I didn't get into Sneakers until years and years later cos I hated their female vocalist. I wish I had discovered that Chris sang on their second album sooner, but I had just dismissed the whole band as shit because of her. Let me have my opinion in peace please.

This woman they had sing on their recent album just did not cut it. So they clearly like a woman singing for them. They made two really good CDs after she was booted, but this last set was released directionless.
