You know why I respect Jeff and his bikes ? becuase he respects the consumer’s intelligence and our desire for knowledge behind marketing. Jeff is humble, not afraid to experiment and talk about why he changed his design instead of just saying why his is the best. I am the happy owner of LWB HDE. Thanks for being real Jeff and explaining your thought process and engineering to us instead of just marketing bs like the rest of the industry. Jones bike design philosophy respects what a bike IS while pushing the envelop. Right on.
Amen. I loved this video and the way you talked us through your process. I bought my bike in June. I had initially planned to get the LWB HDE but ended up purchasing it as an e-bike w the HD motor. I couldn’t be happier. I’m back to riding again without hand numbness and back pain. I love how this is a bike first and also an e-bike; I’m able to ride comfortably without assistance when I want to even to the point where I’ll pull the battery off and just ride when I’m on flat roads close to home. Thanks for the great bike and the great video.
And he knows and emotes the difference between wheeled cycles perfectly.
Jeff is my kind of crazy. I need to come to Ashland and say helllo.
I love my jones bars. my own ebike finally died. i'm definitely going to get this one :) I'll also need to make a trip to ashland to say hi.
Just received my ebike from Jones. Very well built turnkey ebike. cable routing was nicely done and it feels very solid on the road. nice work jones team!
More videos please. I’ve written down my dream build with carbon wheels, titanium bars and hopefully a titanium trust fork
Take my money, 29 x 3.25 absolute beast!
The faired version reminds me of the old Honda MB-5 moped, great design.
❤Thanks Jeff, I’m running your H Bar’s on one of my E-Bike builds. Bafang,1000 Watt/ 52volt 25Ah. Battery ❤. I will in the near future be purchasing one of your bikes. And converting it into a multipurpose E-bike as well😊.
Haha dude that motorcycle one and the footage and photos are so good
Enjoy your content. Greatful for your in-depth explanation. Thank you and keep it coming.
I really like your think process! Durable, functional, useful, to me, best e-bike i have seen!
Great video! You covered a lot of ground regarding Jones e-bikes, and answered a lot of questions that I had. Especially the detailed explanation of your reasoning to use cadence sensors instead of torque sensors on the HD/e Completes. Keep the videos coming!
Thanks!
Fantastic..! Im in the UK and have the blue hde (v1) with eggrider display ,shimano slx gears/brakes and fitted the the bafang hde motor and 52v battery
This is perfect for commuting…love it
Thanks
And over here is the one that does 70 mph 😂😂. Jeff is a mad scientist that sells tickets. So glad I can buy one.
So nice ❤
Right to repair willchange things for the better
very logic 😁
I agree the Bosch is so nice but idgaf because the bafang makes it a bike first and allows me to tinker
8:00 to my knowledge Bosch pledges to support its electric drive systems for a minimum of of 7 years(which is more then most competitors)
11:00 the EU e bike limit of 250W is calculated in a way that the motors have maximum outputs in excess of 500 to 800W (some even more) it’s more of an continuous power output
What size chainring is in that Bosch? Looks like the old school 22 tooth granny gears. Love seeing and hearing about your bikes
Thanks much for taking the time to create the videos. Are you going to investigate and/or integrate alternative add-on motors, such as the CYC and the Toseven?
Thanks, we are always looking into more options.
I'm also watching the Bimotal. Still needs work, but the ability to remove the motor is pretty interesting.
The cyc looks interesting.
The BBS02 has a very nice cadence sensor. The Bosch CX made around 70 nm of torque. The Gen 4 makes 85 nm, it blows the BBS02 away on every climb.
The Bafang BBS02 has 100Nm of torque and the BBSHD has 160Nm.
@@JonesMotorbikes I've ridden both and the difference is night and day. Bafang is either lying about their torque or measuring it in a non standard way with extremely low gearing. All their M series motors have grossly exaggerated torque specs and get blown away in test shoot outs against Bosch, Brose and Shimano.
Quick question. I allready own a HDE frame set, what size bottom bracket on the bbshd gets me a nice chain line.
Could you make a Pinion Gearbox Motor Mounting Version for belt drive?
Hi Jeff, I bought one of your HD/e pedal bikes in May. Do you offer the complete ebike conversion parts for sale?
Are the Cranks the Standard Bafang Cranks ... or stronger cranks? (The standard cranks are often reported to fail under load.)
Great video! thanks
They are they are the standard Bafang cranks. We have not had any problem with them, or heard of any failures under load. But if you let the crank arm bolt get loose it can cause damage to the crank arm.
@@JonesMotorbikes
Thanks.
I replaced my standard Bafang cranks with Lekkie self extraction cranks and tightened to the recommended 50nM. I was having issues keeping the standard cranks tight and was afraid it might wear the Bafang drive axle. The Lekkie Cranks also correct for the Q factor … but the Q factor really wasn’t noticeable to me.
What is the difference between version 1 and version 2 bikes?
he explains that in the video. Jump to 14:00
Thanks Jon, but I'm asking about the differences between the v1 and v2 frames. (not the components) @@jons4686
The drivetrain, rear hub, brakes, and seat are different. The frame, fork, and the rest are the same. In this video about the new version of the LWB bike, I explain some of the same parts: ua-cam.com/video/OzmVQyRU9Qc/v-deo.htmlsi=mGFXZrxYQdrk23De
Thank You Sir!!!@@JonesMotorbikes
