Something that hit me as interesting about the Gorosei, something that I have noticed through the story. They seem like actually good leaders. They rule a tyrannical slaving authoritarian oligarchy built on a lie with a secret supreme dictator, but they always seemed intelligent and capable with actual human reason and empathy. They felt actual remorse about the destruction of OHara and the situation with Vegapunk. They understand the seriousness of mass murder and does not revel in it sadistically. They took in Shanks to their home, listened to him and let him walk out free. The only time they really showed their Celestial Dragon arrogance was with their view on the Nefertari family as traitors.
Yeah I would like to see their/Im's backstory to be something sad or with good intentions at the start, and they kept holding onto their beliefs over the centuries despite it turning to shit. Maybe they were originally on Joyboy's crew, and Imu betrayed Joyboy because he/she thought they knew better.

There seems to be the impression that all they do is sit and discuss things, but as the highest public authority figures, they have the power to make things happen through their orders. They just rarely act to make things happen by personally going somewhere with this being the first occasion.
I think a scarier ability for Im, would be to share their haki. Imagine how much ambition and strength of will it takes to look at an entire planet and its people and say..."This belongs to me." We don't know how black blades work, but imagine if Im could just do that to anything. They can pour haki into anything and make it a DF user slaying relic weapon. They can look at DF affects and just say "No." Being able to not just see a few seconds in to the future, but being able to do it for weeks on end.
@@korakuen considering power negation is already a thing, yes I imagine the most powerful Conquer on the planet might be able to just say no to df abilities. The entire point would be that such a thing is terrifying and would mean only haki masters would be a threat. Edit: Plus it plays into the idea that Im would be the ultimate tyrant.
Kizaru can probably move at light speed... but it is so difficult to control that he has to keep himself really reaally slow and under control otherwise his light body can be spread all over and gone... not to mention he would have trouble controlling WHERE he ends up while just moving... which is why he acts so slowly... he overcompensates because he is being cautious...
I know you guys aren't powerscalers but there's a difference between Travel speed and Combat speed,for example people like Enel and Kizaru can move at the speed of their respective elements for long distances,while people like luffy who can react to Light and dodge Light or lighting can only move faster than those elements for very short period of times and only during Combat situations. Basically all I'm saying is that being Light speed in one piece is nothing special but traveling at light speed is something only one Character can do,same with lighting to an extent
What if Kizaru smokes a joint before fighting, he will definitely be the fastest. You saw Kuma & Kaido speed blitz people even Luffy with advanced future sight he could not do anything.
What if God Valley is where they train future Gorosei prospects and that's why Rocks attacked. That's where they got they're scars by fighting the Rocks Pirates. Also explains why Shanks was there as a baby because he was going to be groomed as a future gorosei candidate. Just a thought.

I think one thing thats being overlooked is that the seraphim are also giants so when they're fully grown they're going to be giant versions of the people they're based on that's insane, furthermore thats the tech that bigmom wanted ceaser to do. Combined with the Germa cloning tech,Big mom is way more perceptive and intelligent than I previously thought,her and Buckingham were on the rocks and Buckingham had affiliation with mads so maybe that's why she employed ceaser.Big mom wanted seraphim of her kids that's my head cannon.

It is funny that Mercury is not only a liquid metal that Artour made a fruit for, but is also a planet that one of the Gorosei are likely going to be named after.
I think the younger one will be Mercury. Samurai Ghandi will most likely be Jupiter. And I think the Gorbachev looking guy will be Mars. Idk about the last one, since the other planet / gods are taken up by the ancient weapons. Oda could name one of them Venus, even though Venus is a goddess.

The Gorosei are very probably Imu's satellites. Makes sense with how Oda is playing with planets and such. But they don't have the information sharing capabilities Vegapunk has (although once Vegapunk leaves Egghead, all of his satellites will be "disconnected")
I just thought of something. The island Chopper was sent to by Kuma, maybe they had void century technology considering they lived like tribal but had advanced weaponry.
I think you have the name backwards Tekking. His family name is Jaygarcia, and his 'given' name is Saturn. Saturn matches up with the names of the ancient weapons, being Greco-Roman gods. Most likely, these names are given to the people chosen to be Gorosei, and not their original names, with the other Gorosei are named after the other stars/planets, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter. Artur did a really in depth video, which this basically also reveals the origin of Nika, and Imu's real name based on this revelation. If there isn't a character named Copernicus in the final arc, I'm going to be surprised.
Honestly i like the idea that if the Gorosei have powers, they aren't combat oriented, at least not directly, maybe their powers are more support oriented and make other people fight for the them or something on those lines. I just don't think these old guys should go into a brawl with Luffy and the SH, as in there is a lot more other characters in the story for that purpose.

My theory is that the Yami Yami no mi is actually the reason Blackbeard can have two powers. He's showcased how his power can sap the powers out of others, so what if his awakening is the ability to not only sap but completely absorb someone else's power using his darkness. This ties in perfectly to Blackbeard's master plan. Being part of Whitebeard's crew had to have exposed Teach to all kinds of haki, so he probably knew that it could negate powers. At that point, you have to wonder what else he would need the Yami Yami for, since he already would know how to negate powers. I think his ultimate motive for getting the Yami Yami was to acquire multiple powers, since it could likely be the only way to do so.
The Yami Yami seems to work on a similar logic to a black hole. Maybe he could suck the fruit out of someone entirely, but once it's inside his void I don't see why he'd then be able to use it for himself. I've seen a lot of theories that Blackbeard's specialness is a result of his fruit, but it'd be really weird for his fruit to have the power to break rules every other fruit has been stated to follow (yes I know his fruit behaves differently than other logias do, it's still a big jump to say it behaves differently from all other DFs).
When Blackbeard got Whitebeard's fruit is was said that his body was weird and that was why he didn't die when he obtained two fruits. It had nothing to do with the Yami Yami no mi.
There at least three instances of people talking about Blackbeard's body being special. In particular, Age tells him he's life is "double that of normal person" at Banaro Island, and in oden's flashback Shanks says that "not sleeping is like loving double the life". Whatever the reason, everything points at this "double" life allowing for "double" devil fruit powers
I always figured that this was actually his ability, he was just limiting the knowledge of it or the level at which he’s activating it when he uses it.
Sometimes I wonder if after blackbeared showed he could use 2 powers, did some people try it out for themselves, increasing devil fruit consumption deaths for that year significantly

It make sense for the Gorosei to be the top 5 fighters , Because let’s be honest. By the end of the story, they’ll be plenty of combatants who can contend with the Admirals.
While it is a cliché among shonen to have elderly men in positions of power be extremely overpowered, I would personally prefer it if the Gorosei members weren’t fighters

It's only a few more arcs to be fair. Blackbeard, Akainu, and Imu are the next true villains to fight. Everyone else isn't important to the narrative even if a random Elbaf giant or something would be comparable to Kaidou in terms of strength. So Elbaf having the final key to Laugh Tale might be the way the story is headed. Luffy clashes and loses to Blackbeard on Elbaf, they rematch on Laugh Tale, final war happens after that, and the series ends.
I hope i'm wrong, but I have a strong feeling the Gorosei will be non combatants. Though if they DO turn out to be fighters, then I'm 100% on board for that planet deity fruit idea, would be super cool.

yeah the gorosei keep it real and seem uber competent which is why i remember the reveal that they were also tenryuubito like charloss feeling like 'woah dude i thought these were just ruthless politicians more akin to admirals.'
In my headcanon, the Tenryuubito (other that the Gorosei) are unknowingly kept as sacrifices to operate the Ancient Weapons. It would be poetic that they are kept as "slaves/slaughter animals" while they assume that's what the rest of the OP population are. If the Gorosei are enforcers of Imu's will, maybe Oda can tie Roger's sickness to him being attacked and wounded by one or a group of the 5 elders. It would also be a pleasant twist if Imu whilst evil right now, was actually betrayed by the Ancient Kingdom/Will of D.
Here's a wacky theory: I think the Ancient Kingdom created Imu. Vegapunk mentioned that he believes devil fruits are people's dreams made manifest, and if that's the case then perhaps Imu is all the ambition and greed and desire for power made manifest. Perhaps the original idea was to create beings out of dreams, and Imu was one of their first attempts. Yet he was the worst things from people and so he was labelled a 'devil'. Perhaps he even turned on the ancient kingdom and rallied the nations against them, forcing the Ancient Kingdom to create objects that could let them combat the Devil -- Devil Fruits. That would also explain why Awakening exists, it's a safety feature to make sure that, if a fruit does fall into the wrong hands, there's a period of time where it's power can't be fully utilized and the Ancient Kingdom could find them and stop them. Though I guess it could be the opposite way too. Maybe they created Devil Fruits first, but as the war started up they delved too deep, trying to create entire beings out of concepts and ideas. Yet when they created Imu they realized they'd created a devil, and Imu is the real reason the Ancient Kingdom collapsed. In that context perhaps Imu came up with the name 'Devil Fruits' since the eaters of those fruits just become inferior versions of himself, the true 'devil'.

Instead of creating already existing Devil Fruits, I believe Imu could materialize the DF based on desire. I mean, using what you said, if there would be an initiation, it could very well be a Buzzfeed-ish quiz so the candidate could create its own power and even without the swimming or any other restriction
Most of the time old men and women in animanga got a shit ton of power but I always felt the Gorosei were more tactical and strategic with their brain power than physically but could have some wicked ass haki and DF powers too so best of both worlds
VegaPunk had the intention of splitting the Gorosei as together they are super powerful but even with just 1 missing is a huge blow to their defences and Dragon will capitalize on this opportunity.

One noteworthy thing is that dragon is actually probably the reason that luffy hasnt been destroyed by WG yet. Rev army comes in clutch everywhere and probably are the reason that the gorosei havent acknowledged luffy until seeing he awakened the fruit
My theory on why Blackbeard has two devil fruit powers: The D in the D clan stands for Devil, since the Devil is the enemy of god, and the D clan (Devil) have been said to be the enemies of the CELESTIAL (god) dragons. The D clan are the ones who developed devil fruits many centuries ago (void century). They named the fruits after themselves. They made them in order to fight against what would later become the world government and their leaders, the celestial dragons. However, they still lost and all the devil fruits were scattered across the world as they were reincarnated after their deaths. The D clan, much like every other race in the Onepiece universe, is a race of their own, separate from humans. However, they look identical to humans, in contrast to every other race (long arm tribe, long leg tribe, long neck tribe, dwarfs, minks, fishmen, three eyed tribe, giants, lunarians etc) so what is their difference? Just their name? No. Their difference is that they can eat up to three devil fruits each. Just like every other race has their own unique physical characteristics, D clan members are special in that they designed those devil fruits to be super-compatible with their genes to the point where they can eat three, in contrast to everyone else who can eat only one. That's the truth Blackbeard discovered, since he's obsessed with history. He's not special as to be the only one that can take three fruits. ALL D clan members can do that.
A divine invincibility sort of power would fit them. I think if they'd be really really strong then that would kinda detract from Imu as the final fight plus they never gave the vibe of having like insane Haki or something like that. This divine power could either be something Imu bestowed upon them (maybe with Imu's powers) or some ancient technology. I think something like an impenetrable light force surrounding them would give the right imagery to make them feel untouchable and god-like. And while the Straw Hats (at least initially) won't be able to get through to him, Saturn is gonna command the seraphim and have them fight for him.

So the reason I say this is because Tekking brought up Rocks with the Gorosei and for some reason my brain clicked back to an older painting I haven’t thought about in years. It’s also weird to think there’s an uneven number of them as well and with the symbology and imagery of this painting I can easily see Oda taking an idea from it. Well, Vegapunk is technically breaking the rules with science. Never before was there copies of devil fruits and now we have them. Not sure if there are consequences to that, but I guess we'll see.
Come to think of it. The most effective poison in one piece world is two devil fruit pieces in any proportion. It would seem that it will work for any character that we know of.
My idea was that Saint Saturn's devil fruit is one that let's him project his voice, (the Shout-Shout fruit maybe) which would be perfect for ordering around the seraphim without even needing to set foot on the island
Maybe the reason the gorosei don't try to destroy the Yonko is that they look at the world like this: If you create a power vacuum then someone else will just fill the void. So their is no point to destroying the Yonko (and losing lots of manpower in the process) just to have 4 new Yonko pop up again in a few years.
Before bello Betty appeared I was expecting one of them to have a cheer power. Samurai guy definitely should have all manner of sword skills like the atomic guy from one punch man. Dreadlocks I can see a full body haki due to his size Gondolfs brother feels like a observation haki guy to me due to his lean body. Sanjis uncle I feel technology based powers to be a Mecha or leg strength. Fruit wise I'm not sure but space based fruits would be amazing getting alien alien fruits and beam powers better than kizaru for examples.

I think you have the name backwards Tekking. His family name is Jaygarcia, and his 'given' name is Saturn.
Saturn matches up with the names of the ancient weapons, being Greco-Roman gods.
Most likely, these names are given to the people chosen to be Gorosei, and not their original names, with the other Gorosei are named after the other stars/planets, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter.
Artur did a really in depth video, which this basically also reveals the origin of Nika, and Imu's real name based on this revelation.
If there isn't a character named Copernicus in the final arc, I'm going to be surprised.

Honestly i like the idea that if the Gorosei have powers, they aren't combat oriented, at least not directly, maybe their powers are more support oriented and make other people fight for the them or something on those lines. I just don't think these old guys should go into a brawl with Luffy and the SH, as in there is a lot more other characters in the story for that purpose.

My theory is that the Yami Yami no mi is actually the reason Blackbeard can have two powers. He's showcased how his power can sap the powers out of others, so what if his awakening is the ability to not only sap but completely absorb someone else's power using his darkness. This ties in perfectly to Blackbeard's master plan. Being part of Whitebeard's crew had to have exposed Teach to all kinds of haki, so he probably knew that it could negate powers. At that point, you have to wonder what else he would need the Yami Yami for, since he already would know how to negate powers. I think his ultimate motive for getting the Yami Yami was to acquire multiple powers, since it could likely be the only way to do so.
The Yami Yami seems to work on a similar logic to a black hole. Maybe he could suck the fruit out of someone entirely, but once it's inside his void I don't see why he'd then be able to use it for himself.
I've seen a lot of theories that Blackbeard's specialness is a result of his fruit, but it'd be really weird for his fruit to have the power to break rules every other fruit has been stated to follow (yes I know his fruit behaves differently than other logias do, it's still a big jump to say it behaves differently from all other DFs).
When Blackbeard got Whitebeard's fruit is was said that his body was weird and that was why he didn't die when he obtained two fruits. It had nothing to do with the Yami Yami no mi.
There at least three instances of people talking about Blackbeard's body being special.
In particular, Age tells him he's life is "double that of normal person" at Banaro Island, and in oden's flashback Shanks says that "not sleeping is like loving double the life".
Whatever the reason, everything points at this "double" life allowing for "double" devil fruit powers

Sometimes I wonder if after blackbeared showed he could use 2 powers, did some people try it out for themselves, increasing devil fruit consumption deaths for that year significantly

It's only a few more arcs to be fair. Blackbeard, Akainu, and Imu are the next true villains to fight. Everyone else isn't important to the narrative even if a random Elbaf giant or something would be comparable to Kaidou in terms of strength.
So Elbaf having the final key to Laugh Tale might be the way the story is headed. Luffy clashes and loses to Blackbeard on Elbaf, they rematch on Laugh Tale, final war happens after that, and the series ends.
I hope i'm wrong, but I have a strong feeling the Gorosei will be non combatants. Though if they DO turn out to be fighters, then I'm 100% on board for that planet deity fruit idea, would be super cool.

yeah the gorosei keep it real and seem uber competent which is why i remember the reveal that they were also tenryuubito like charloss feeling like 'woah dude i thought these were just ruthless politicians more akin to admirals.'
In my headcanon, the Tenryuubito (other that the Gorosei) are unknowingly kept as sacrifices to operate the Ancient Weapons. It would be poetic that they are kept as "slaves/slaughter animals" while they assume that's what the rest of the OP population are.
If the Gorosei are enforcers of Imu's will, maybe Oda can tie Roger's sickness to him being attacked and wounded by one or a group of the 5 elders.
It would also be a pleasant twist if Imu whilst evil right now, was actually betrayed by the Ancient Kingdom/Will of D.

Here's a wacky theory: I think the Ancient Kingdom created Imu. Vegapunk mentioned that he believes devil fruits are people's dreams made manifest, and if that's the case then perhaps Imu is all the ambition and greed and desire for power made manifest. Perhaps the original idea was to create beings out of dreams, and Imu was one of their first attempts. Yet he was the worst things from people and so he was labelled a 'devil'. Perhaps he even turned on the ancient kingdom and rallied the nations against them, forcing the Ancient Kingdom to create objects that could let them combat the Devil -- Devil Fruits. That would also explain why Awakening exists, it's a safety feature to make sure that, if a fruit does fall into the wrong hands, there's a period of time where it's power can't be fully utilized and the Ancient Kingdom could find them and stop them.
Though I guess it could be the opposite way too. Maybe they created Devil Fruits first, but as the war started up they delved too deep, trying to create entire beings out of concepts and ideas. Yet when they created Imu they realized they'd created a devil, and Imu is the real reason the Ancient Kingdom collapsed. In that context perhaps Imu came up with the name 'Devil Fruits' since the eaters of those fruits just become inferior versions of himself, the true 'devil'.

Instead of creating already existing Devil Fruits, I believe Imu could materialize the DF based on desire. I mean, using what you said, if there would be an initiation, it could very well be a Buzzfeed-ish quiz so the candidate could create its own power and even without the swimming or any other restriction

Most of the time old men and women in animanga got a shit ton of power but I always felt the Gorosei were more tactical and strategic with their brain power than physically but could have some wicked ass haki and DF powers too so best of both worlds
VegaPunk had the intention of splitting the Gorosei as together they are super powerful but even with just 1 missing is a huge blow to their defences and Dragon will capitalize on this opportunity.

One noteworthy thing is that dragon is actually probably the reason that luffy hasnt been destroyed by WG yet. Rev army comes in clutch everywhere and probably are the reason that the gorosei havent acknowledged luffy until seeing he awakened the fruit
My theory on why Blackbeard has two devil fruit powers:
The D in the D clan stands for Devil, since the Devil is the enemy of god, and the D clan (Devil) have been said to be the enemies of the CELESTIAL (god) dragons.
The D clan are the ones who developed devil fruits many centuries ago (void century). They named the fruits after themselves. They made them in order to fight against what would later become the world government and their leaders, the celestial dragons. However, they still lost and all the devil fruits were scattered across the world as they were reincarnated after their deaths.
The D clan, much like every other race in the Onepiece universe, is a race of their own, separate from humans. However, they look identical to humans, in contrast to every other race (long arm tribe, long leg tribe, long neck tribe, dwarfs, minks, fishmen, three eyed tribe, giants, lunarians etc) so what is their difference? Just their name? No.
Their difference is that they can eat up to three devil fruits each. Just like every other race has their own unique physical characteristics, D clan members are special in that they designed those devil fruits to be super-compatible with their genes to the point where they can eat three, in contrast to everyone else who can eat only one.
That's the truth Blackbeard discovered, since he's obsessed with history. He's not special as to be the only one that can take three fruits. ALL D clan members can do that.
A divine invincibility sort of power would fit them. I think if they'd be really really strong then that would kinda detract from Imu as the final fight plus they never gave the vibe of having like insane Haki or something like that. This divine power could either be something Imu bestowed upon them (maybe with Imu's powers) or some ancient technology. I think something like an impenetrable light force surrounding them would give the right imagery to make them feel untouchable and god-like. And while the Straw Hats (at least initially) won't be able to get through to him, Saturn is gonna command the seraphim and have them fight for him.

So the reason I say this is because Tekking brought up Rocks with the Gorosei and for some reason my brain clicked back to an older painting I haven’t thought about in years. The painting of the SIX kings. This painting shows Six Kings together, in two lines gesturing upwards towards a ruler… now isn’t it weird for the Gorosei to have scars? It’s also weird to think there’s an uneven number of them as well and with the symbology and imagery of this painting I can easily see Oda taking an idea from it. Though there is only 5 Gorosei… at least currently. What if there was a sixth Gorosei member that rebelled for whatever reason. I can just imagine this member either being JoyBoy or Rocks… also in the same painting to the side is a woman with the word victory above her head and this may represent IM getting Vivi as well and it’s been foreshadowed in this painting this whole time but ehhh whatever lol. Seriously though, search up the Painting of the Six Kings and there is so many ideas to come up with now

I believe Jaygarcia is his family name, and Saturn is his given name. Luffy's family name is Monkey, but his name is still read as Monkey D. Luffy, not Luffy D. Monkey, therefore if Jaygarcia was his given name it would be read as Saturn Jaygarcia instead.

Well, Vegapunk is technically breaking the rules with science. Never before was there copies of devil fruits and now we have them. Not sure if there are consequences to that, but I guess we'll see.
Come to think of it. The most effective poison in one piece world is two devil fruit pieces in any proportion. It would seem that it will work for any character that we know of.
My idea was that Saint Saturn's devil fruit is one that let's him project his voice, (the Shout-Shout fruit maybe) which would be perfect for ordering around the seraphim without even needing to set foot on the island

Maybe the reason the gorosei don't try to destroy the Yonko is that they look at the world like this: If you create a power vacuum then someone else will just fill the void. So their is no point to destroying the Yonko (and losing lots of manpower in the process) just to have 4 new Yonko pop up again in a few years.
