    Good repair tip!
I keep one of those repair buckles in my repair kit.
This, boys and girls, is why you should always carry a multitool on your trips.
I see lots of people carrying pounds of adult beverages but claim a multitool is unnecessary weight 🤦‍♂️
I would suggest using locktite thread locker on the bolt threads so it doesn’t back out on you at some very inopportune moment.
I see that you did it but didn’t mention burning/melting the end of the web strap when/before you sewed it 😊

I totally agree about the multitool. They can be heavy, but worth it. The loctite is a great idea, good thinking. And it was more difficult than I thought to get this short under the 1 minute mark, so by showing the melted tip, I hoped that would be enough. You noticed, so my hopes are high! Thanks Alan 🤘.

If a buckle breaks outside I don't think I'd waste time doung all that. I'd simply tie the straps together until I can go back somewhere to do a real fix. It might be a repair kit, but with how many steps it takes I wouldn't call it a "field" kit.
