@@UnknownVir when you go to the channel's about section there only a Twitter, UA-cam, twitch and discord link. I just want to make sure that he has all the information he needs to find and properly report an account trying to scam people into pretending they are him. They use the same channel icon, their name looks similar enough if you don't read it too closely. These scam accounts are a scourge and annoying.

I was fully expecting the Kecleon to become completely average after it joins you, cool to see it's just as broken once it's on your team.
kecleon breaks the mold by staying as powerful when becoming a playable character lol
fun note, you can also get more than one because they're not a legendary. So imagine a team with literally cheated stats being legitimately obtained XD The stat cap in mystery dungeon is 999 in everything. I think they have it in everything but health XD

@@nathanielbass771 Nope, it isn't. 999 is the stat cap ONLY for health, everything else caps at 255. In EoS, Keckleon spawns with all of its stats between 254 and 255, except HP which instead is 200-300ish if my memory does not fail me.
The cap stats are reachable legitimately with extreme patience and proper farming, mostly through Zero Isles or Destiny Tower for Life Seeds, Sitrus Berries and the vitamins.

Worth mentioning that if you recruit Groudon and have him on the squad, you can have permanent sun when fighting Kecleon. Chlorophyll in this game means you can attack twice in one turn.
Keckleon will take out the Groudon with ease though lol.

I remember when my bro and I found out about this. It literally took us 2 weeks of getting meganium, the wall hack seed, oran berries, and solar beam. Worth it

iirc this one time was playing Explorers of Sky where i used Roar on an enemy Pokemon in a hallway which caused it to get blown back and slam into Kecleon in the next room (who i had no idea was even *in the way*). this caused it to become aggressive and start attacking me and i was lucky i even managed to get away from it
A. I wish we'd get a BRAND NEW Mystery Dungeon game.
B. In Super Mystery Dungeon, I'd equip that gem that revive fallen allies and go to town against their army while they either cover me for my escape or just fight endlessly until we can eventually leave with our loot. I'd also have the gem that allows me to see enemies or the map or something. Now if we had the Kecleon policy in real life we'd probably be a little safer, just a little. Note: I'm never going to stop stealing from him as long as he's got good loot, the team of thieves inspired me as a kid. The Weavile, Arbok and the Scorpion fella. (Never liked gen 4 so I don't remember it's name)

Man I love your videos. Pulled up a memory I forgot I had. Til this day I always felt the smallest sense of dread whenever I saw a Kecleon and literally only now remember it’s because this was the first Pokémon to ever k.o. me when I was 6 lmao
I still find it annoying that there's no cancel, so if you accidentally leave the 3x3 keckleon shop without the money to buy the items, you're straight up dead.
To recruit kecleon into your team, first you must become a god.
With a LOT of setup and some patience this is actually not that hard. But I would love more Pmd or other spinoff content, as since there's no competitive scene there's probably a lot I don't know or haven't explored in the games
imagine stealing from store, beat up the clerk and then he decides to become your best friend
There are multiple ways to beat and steal, to steal get an orb that amasses the items in the floor in one point, go next the stairs, use the orb, pickup the item, then use the stairs to go to the next floor. To beat them a ghost Pokemon can go through walls
holy shit, a modem guide to doing this! thanks so much for making this-it made me relive some trauma and encouraged me to get back to playing my recent playthru of pmd: sky. i’m hoping to recruit all pokémon in the game on this file, too.

Guy ends up stat buffing himself like Ainz Ooal Gown before fighting death itself.
Whenever i see kecleon selling item like power ups and tm that had insanely high prices, i just go straight to stairway, use trawl orb, collecting the loots and processing to the next level. Ah the memory, good memory
I never recruited kecleon as a kid, but I was able to the most recent time I played through blue rescue team. I spent about a month grinding a new save file from the start of the game until level 96. My strategy, as Cubone, was to hold friend bow, learn earthquake, and keep going through Wyvern Hill with my inventory consisting of: a trawl orb, one-room orb, escape orb, then fill the rest wit reviver seeds. I walk around until I find a kecleon shop, then I use the one-room orb, walk to the steps so I can quickly leave the floor and escape orb out of the dungeon if I need to, then steal kecleons items using trawl orb by the steps. Walk around until kecleons surround me, then earthquake all of them until I recruit one. I recruited one in an absurdly short amount of time (2 trips to wyvern Hill + KOing a total of maybe 15 kecleons) but this isnt normal and anyone who tries this will most likely have to kill WAY more kecleons. If you attempt this be ready to prepare and grind up for a good while for this and be prepared to repeat these steps over and over for a while.
Mirror move is also a good move to use, it’s actually broken lol it kinda works as counter
For the people who have never played Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers Of Sky, i highly recommend it. Its a great game with one of the best stories ive ever seen in a video game, and one of my favorite games of all time.
I think making a grand escape from this god among Pokémon is more entertaining than recruiting him.
i clicked on this and then went "huh, this reminds me of freezai" and kept watching till about the mid point and actually checked and was like "🤯😂😂😂 makes sense"

Ah, Kek-leon. I remember the first time my naive self tried to run away with goods- it's the first time any pokemon game has slapped me into next Tuesday. I think the Kecleon mechanic in the early PMD games is one of the most memorable experiences playing these games. My favorites are still Blue Rescue Team and Explorers of Time/Sky.
I used to grind this out in Red Rescue team. X-ray specs to see if there was a shop, then trawl orb next to the stairs or a hallway to bring all the items to me and activate him. Must've beat thousands of him but never got the recruitment, but I'm gonna cope by saying maybe kid me did something wrong.
One thing I liked to do in this game was recruiting enemies and made them fighting against another enemies and also recruiting another one in case they died
You did miss one thing: You can get the Golden Mask through Wonder Mail. Though some might consider this extremely cheap.
Man I never once thought about recruiting Kecleon, it’s not that I didn’t wanna recruit Kecleon, it’s that I never considered the idea. I didn’t realize that Kecleon only appeared as a ship keeper and not a wild Pokémon. This was a sick video, I never expected PMD content, PMD TDS are my favorite games, so it was awesome 3 watch this!
I spent so many hours trying to recruit him as a kid. I genuinely started to doubt it was possible and gave up before I ever could
I recruited him a long time ago with my Charizard + the orb that unifies the room (forgot the name) and using the "Heat Wave" attack = No chance to get close to those Kecleon and just use escape orb
Its crazy how much content the Gen 4 Mystery Dungeon games have packed into them
Love this spin off. I expect this video won't be popular. If you're looking for video ideas, one idea would be other turn based games that Pokemon players may enjoy like TemTem (I'm personally not a fan of double battles though).

I vaguely remember stealing from kechleon and using stair orb to get to the next floor.
Please do a video about recruiting Thundorus and Tornadus in Gates to Infinity. It is an RNG hellhole. First you have to beat the game (duh) and go to dungeons with high mysteriousity which is a mechanic that can do a variety of things like make every Pokemon on the floor fall asleep or make it so you can't use certain items but sometimes you get thrown into a different dungeon. Most mysteriousity-exclusive Pokemon are a pain in the butt to recruit because there are two separate dungeons depending on what dungeon you went to. Like this beach dungeon I forgot the name of can throw you into a dungeon where you can recruit Pikachu and Oshawott and Wingull (a rare recruit in the game for some reason). The dungeon you want is the Gilded Hall and there is a 50/50 chance of getting it. Tornadus and Thundorus both spawn here and let me tell you I spent over 15-20 hours doing this and I have not encountered either one of them. Even if they do show up, I think the only way to recruit them is through flying gifts which are wonder mail exclusive? Even if they can be recruited by defeating them I doubt they have a very high recruitment rate.
Landorus is fortunately less cumbersome. He only shows up on floor 8 of Breezy Meadow which is like a level 12-14 optional dungeon which has got to be most specific, esoteric, place to recruit a legendary. It's on the same level as reading Braille to unlock the Regis in RSE.
Also apparently someone did a Recruit-Em-All speedrun of this game and it took like 7 hours for them to recruit Kecleon. Ouch.
This just triggered trauma i had burried and forgotten anbout for over a decade.
The best part about this mechanic is that the game let you try it…and then forced you to regret your choice
Honestly my gripe with it was that it actually has like an cracked moveset, screech + fury swipes, so without an mobile orb you would eventually get screeched a bunch of times and combo'd, they're dangerous but good.
Tbh I think Altaria is a better choice to recruit Kecleon. While it lacks stuff like Mega Drain, it has an exclusive item that prevents Screech from working.

i didn't try to steal the items lol, i couldn't figure out how to pay for it and thought if i left the room, the kechleon would ask me to pay for it..not immediately start attacking
In red rescue team I had Articuno use agility and spammed powder snow in a large room and eventually got one
As time passes I always discover new things about that game that I didn't know
When you fight them. They're juiced up crazy. when they join you they're sober XD
You know, at some you're better off by just paying.
I remember how long it took for me to get e kecleon I'd rather get hit by a bus, get set on for and chew on broken glass
For fun I wanted to see what kecelon's stats at level 1 in pmd2, and found out it starts with the worst base stats out of every pokemon in the game with 1 in every stat including hp. It would only gain 1 in every stat until level 30 where it started getting 25 stat level ups until level 40 where it reverts to 1 stat levels until capped.
Unrelated note, but I wonder if there's any other shopkeeps who get if you steal from of attack them. So far I can only think of 3: Kecleon, the Shopkeepers from the Spelunky series, and Frederick from the Necrodancer series.
I'm sure there has to be a few others I don't know though

I used Chansey.
Chansey has a special item that replenishes PP when she takes damage (empty belly damage counts).
Chansey doesn't need to worry about food, PP, or (with a mobile scarf) _walls._
I named my Kecleon "Jeff Bezos".
Sorry if I am missing anything... my understanding is I really just need to be ontop of a wall using the Mobile Scarf, so what was the purpose of the stat boosting again?

I got Kecleon by conquering a 99 floor dungeon and wishing for it to join my team from Jirachi (Blue Mystery Dungeon). Easier than this method.

Then comes the part following Kek's recruiting, escaping to the next floor to securise it 🤭 that's another mission if the stairs aren't near a wall near you
I remember me spending so little time as a kid on red rescue team, and then after 3 + years i was able to befriend all possible mons , but kekcleon, oh well... It took way too much to figure out what was the best way to befriend him too xD but nowadays: internet
The fact that I got it on my 850th try was a miracle.
I always thought that being at level 100 was 25% , Golden mask was 24% & Fast friend was 1% .. altogether that’s 50% which is only a 0.5% requirement rate for Kecleon
This wouldn't help much with recruiting, but it could mean stealing: is Pass Scarf disabled when Kecleon chases you? If you had a Normal type Pokemon with Pass Scarf would Kecleon be able to hit you with any moves?
And then you have to reach the stairs without Kecleon fainting
Really great to see this challenge, I remembered as a kid stealing from them, feeling smart when using the Escape Orb and then be sad when i got my ass kicked. Speed in mystery dungeon is a fucked up mecanic
In the switch remake this is still tough but way easier

So is it actually overpowered when it joins your team?
Every pokemon in mystery dungeon can have maxed out stats so it's only overpowered for casual players, but it's also impossible to get for casual players since you need a Level 100 Jumpluff with High IQ and a really rare item which takes a lot of grinding, even when using wondermails to make the process 50x as fast
If I remember correctly it’s just a normal high level Pokémon at that point. It’s power comes from its multiple spawns and 2 moves per turn, so it’s just a normal Pokémon once you obtain it.
All of Kecleon's stats are close to 255, which is the highest possible stat. When it joins your team, it will keep its stats, so yes, it's still ridiculously OP when it joins you
