@@fractalgem The tactic I used is as follows; first of all I took a Friend Bow with me, located a Kecleon Mini Shop, then I would locate the Stairs, then I used that Orb that marks every Pokémon on that specific floor as a red dot, then I proceeded to attack that devilish reptile. Made my way to the floor with the stairs and waited by the entrance for them to come through in waves. This way I only had 1 or 2 to worry about at a time, and since I was a Pikachu I could Thunderbolt 'em diagonally. Took many many many dungeons but in the end, he joined the team!💚
@@SerenadedArk Sounds like he meant besides story stuff- all of Explorer's post game is part of the story, so as much as I love those games, I get it. You beat Darkrai and then it can kinda be like "sooooooo.... now what?"
@@TerraQuake1 It’s why he goes out of his was to make the player character get chased out of town by the other rescue teams but in a way he makes amends… like when he helps Alakazam and Xatu make the Teleport Gem to get the player to Sky Tower (Xatu or Alakazam mentioned having a ghost type pokemon help them) or when he “drags” the player into the Dream World after the Rayquaza mission (really he saved the player) There’s other stuff like when Gengar used Dream Eater on the player while they were talking to Gardevoir, she mentioned something about the “intruder” leaving tearfully or something like that…. It’s a really good subplot of the mystery dungeon games bc it can be easily missed unless you’re paying close attention to what Gengar says throughout the story.
You forgot Purity Forest, the hardest dungeon in the game which makes you recruit Celebi. Also there is Joyous Tower, the only dungeon to recruit Chansey (even though it's not story-based).
Guess next is the explorers of the sky post game and episodes. I had a lot of fun getting to Darkrai and seeing all the storylines before and after the main story to really flesh out the cast.
@@TerraQuake1 I did wish we could keep some of the upgrades in both games I loved having a big group around my base of Mankey and such making it feel like a real guilt while sky I enjoyed having maliphy as a little buddy in my side area. Wish after the missions were done we could choose to keep these features
If you wait to talk to Spinda until after you recruit Ho-oh, a different version of the cutscene plays out where they realize "you're" the Mirage Pokémon. Also, the reason Ninetails is mad at Gengar is because he is the human from the legend during the main story about being cursed by Ninetails.
Fun thing about the Mystery Dungeon games is you can actually get all the Pokémon. Main-series always make it a pain in the *se to get your hands on those Mythicals if you're a little late to join the fuss.

I remember getting Mew as a kid in this game, I was sitting in a doctors office when I recruited the Mew. I was using a trick where if you read the list of all things that have happened on each floor you’d know your floor has Mew on it if you see at the very top the first thing is Mew transformed into something else
Man.. kid me played the heck out of PMD Red Rescue Team. But I think I never fully completed all the story for every Pokemon however. Currently playing on an Emulator so going to try and fully complete it. 15 years later 😅
There's also the very rare munchlax encounter in the pokemon square. Nothing really shows up on how to trigger it and they say it's just really based on rng which sucks
it def is not. i had it spawn like 3 times in a matter of hours on one account and 0 times in a matter of days on another one xD def not rng. even tho it says it everywhere

@@Foatizenknechtl I've seen RNG like this before. Someone can get extremely lucky in a small amount of time, then get unlucky for an extended period of time. A lot of games use tempered RNG to normalize lucky or unlucky scenarios from happening over and over again. However I believe that BRT is using TRUE RNG, and true RNG doesn't care whether its seen as lucky or unlucky, it is simply random.
It's actually crazy how much content they were able to put in these games. the main story was already really great and the post game was just wild. I think, i dropped out when trying to recruit mewtu. The western cave was reeeally hard.
What I loved the most in these games were the small environments where legends would hang out after you'd recruit them. What a beautiful pair of games...

No way, that's what I chose too, but with Treecko as the protagonist instead. I found mystery dungeon’s post game to be tedious and unrewarding/unfulfilling. You get a tick-off that you completed the dungeon after hitting your head against a wall trying to fight the RNG. And the NPC’s don’t have dialogue changes or acknowledge anything that happened in the post game. “Oh hey I just became homies with Groudon” Alakazam:Our team is only a gold ranked, I wish our team could get stronger. “Now I am Grand Master Rank/Lucario rank, the *HIGHEST* rank in the game” Alakazam:Our team is only a gold ranked, I wish our team could get stronger. 🙂

And idk if you call it side content or post game but in the case of guardian signs there's literally a whole other game within the game that takes place in the past. Since your past character stays at base stats as you do the main story (only gets xp from doing past missions) most people only get around to it after beating the main game

I don't think most people did that, at least I doubt it, growing up I only had Red Rescue Team until years later my uncle bought me Explorers of Sky and I replayed Red Rescue Team constantly up until that point. Most people probably didn't figure out there was a postgame and wouldn't know until later after they had already moved on
I don't remember much of the first installment mainly cause the latter was so much better but I simply couldn't find the enjoyment to slog through 99 floors, though the unique areas where each legendary & party member would be was one of the best things I find in that game. (after recruiting)

If you didn’t know, Gengar is the human that was cursed by Ninetails. Gardevoir was his partner and she took the hit for him.

They made the remake version of Deoxys BRUTAL. Found out the hard way that i should've turned off auto save

Is there a reward for recruiting all 386 pokemon in this game? I know that in the main games, they give you a diploma if you complete the pokedex.
