Thank you Steve & Ivana too!
Very sad to see you leaving Malaysia soon, but good timing to leave, as covid-19 is spreading. We Malaysians will always welcome you back.
♥️💙💖🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾
Yes Malaysia is truly Asia, friendly folks and a food paradise. That's what my friends from the UK told me when they come to KL for holidays and the best part is food here is available 24/7 as we have many restaurants that opens 24 hours(before the pandemic)
There's truly no place like Malaysia. Incredible food, culture and people. I don't think I'd have the heart to leave even if I had the choice. And hopefully the tourism sector will start booming after covid through your insightful videos. I'll stop gushing, but us Malaysians have much to thank you for as well ❤
awwww we love you guys We will certainly be back
We cannot imagine eating our own home cooked nasi lemak every time when abroad..
@Beau Jacques appreciation doesn't equal to sucking up. I find it funny that I'm the only Indian targeted in the whole comment section. Take your attention seeking self elsewhere, thanks
@@pooja350 I couldn't have written the initial comment better. Maaf I bukan orang India

You haven't experienced our native cultures in Sarawak n Sabah. Hopefully you will visit these 2 states in future 😊👍
we will! We promise!
yeah..you should go there..
you will find really nice people and fantastic scenery.
im from kedah.
True..Sabah and Sarawak are more diversed
@@JetLagWarriors kadazan dance, the sape instrument...etc very nice. A must to go Sarawak n Sabah!
Yes yoy be surprised how accomodating the East Malaysia ppl are compared to the Peninsula. This coming from someone born in Pg
That was a generous compliments. Thank you on behalf of the Malaysian. And Malaysia, we should be proud of this. Thanks again.
Thank you!❤️🇲🇾❤️🇲🇾
Loved this video. Great idea Ivana. Thank you again Malaysia for being so kind to them.
Stevana ,you haven't seen us in Sabah. There are 33 ethnics and speaks 80 languages in Sabah. Come and experience for yourself when the time is right. You'll be amazed from Mt Kinabalu to the virgin jungle and the pristine islands. Greetings from The Land Below The Wind. 😍
ah yes! Hope the border will open next year and we will certainly be back
Will you welcome me if I'm going to Sabah? I miss Borneo sooo much. 😭
Oh yeah. Also really beautiful beaches in Sabah.
In Germany the ground floor is "E" (Erdgeschoss) and the floor above that is the 1st floor.. like in Malaysia!
Really??? Wow
Rez-de-chaussée in France... 😁
Malaysian based the architectural and engineering setting on British - European countries the same. American and Canadian, same on the North America.
Diverse culture, that's what makes Malaysia a very unique country for foreigners.
Interesting " talk show" vlog. Glad you both learned and explored so much about Malaysia. Special thanks to you guys for promoting our beloved country to the world.
Malaysia loves you both and will welcome you again with open arms. 💞❤️❤️

And yet the racist pricks from DAP and PH claim Malaysia is racist when all races and religion is allowed to be practice . The country is peaceful and racial harmony but the DAP fanatics DIVIDE Malaysia with their racial instigations when in reality BN UNITES all races with their community parties working as a united front.
a bit late to this video but if you think beach in perhentian and kapas island is good, wait till you see those in Sabah water. Mabul island etc. Superb!
yup, we can't wait! Heard a lot of great stuff!
MALAYSIA is not only Malay, Chinese and Indian. There are more, Iban, Dusun, Bidayuh, etc from Sabah and Sarawak. 137 languages are spoken in Malaysia. Even as a Malaysian I feel embarass when some Malaysians youtubers mentioned the country only based on these 3 ethnic group. I am from peninsular and I have not forgoten my Malaysian brothers and sisters in the East from various ethnic groups. Peninsular has also many other ethnic groups like portugese decendents, Semang, Senoi, Mah Meri (in Pulau Carey), etc.
Of course. But I think those 3 made up the majority of the population...
We have experienced staying overnight with an orang asli here although not the tribes from Sabah Sarawak
Yes..till today I m wondering why these 3 races..Malay, Chinese n Indian are mentioned....why they never include IBAN, Bidayuh, Kadazan n other Natives group in Sarawak n Sabah???
that the weakness of multiracial..too much need to mention...
Race is different with ethnic, biogically race is define for difference in their DNA and bones, and ethnic is define for their difference in decendant/sub language/tradition.
Hence the 3 main races is chinese indian and Malay(consist of different ethnic)
when steve talk about food - i remember the Sup Torpedo vlog !

I started watching you guys when you came to Malaysia over a year ago. Your video coming to Malaysia was recommended to me. I am so happy that you guys are happy and enjoying Malaysia. When this pandemic over, hopefully when you able to return to Canada, I hope you will tell everyone - families, friends and even foes about Malaysia eh :) Let them enjoy Malaysia as you did.
I am so proud of Malaysian hospitality. We are very genuine, generous and welcoming. You can see it in our history, we have been colonised by so many superpowers in the past due to our Malaysian hospitality taken for granted. But that’s what makes our culture so colourful. Melting pot of everything 😄
Love it🇲🇾❤️
Awww this is heartwarming to watch. Stay safe guys.

Hi!, ivana and Steve...we love u guys ❤ ,u have warmth our heart with all the kind words. Terima kasih banyak 2.
I kept grinning for nearly 15 minutes from the beginning to the end of the video. You’re both so full of high praises of Malaysia. I felt as though I was living in somekind of utopia or shangri-la. I need Ivana to pinch me to bring back to reality. Lol.. Thank you guys for the honest, splendid overview of Malaysia. Stay safe and enjoy life to the fullest. Cheers.

Me too
A very good point (oversee as whole perspective in general) there about your opinion regarding the differences between Malaysia & Indonesia in the terms of multiculturalism & the conservatives thingy.
Of course some of Malaysian/Indonesian might be agree and not agree about this but as a Malaysian & Muslim, honestly I was quite shock when I travelled to Indonesia for the first time years ago and learnt about the “openness” of Indonesian especially towards the religious beliefs in their lifestyle (of course not all Indonesian) - although Indonesian has a largest Muslim population in the world.
Pls come back later for Sabah & Sarawak. Eastern Sabah is majestic & diving paradise. I miss it so much☹️
we will!
When you said polite is different from generous I just realised how accurate your observation was. I never realised this and when I think about it Malaysia the people and the country have always extended help to others who are in need. It’s like this innate trait among us to always be generous and helpful. Who have a history of helping our neighbours, countries etc. And I think that is why God has always protected this land and it’s people. This is what made us unique.
Yea...polite is sopan... generous is bermurah hati. 2 different traits
Tq for sharing all the experiences in Malaysia..in a way you guys has become an ambassador of Malaysia.. Tq so much.. Such a wonderful couple.. May God grants u health n wealth always..
The express bus AC in Malaysia is so cold, even Canadians felt bothered by it.

About Malaysian Hospitality....if you take a flight using the Malaysian Airlines.....you will notice the flight number begins with MH. Say MH001 to Langkawi for example. That MH stands for "Malaysian Hospitality".
Just like mh370... RIP
Hahahaha..!! Stay safe bro.. Nice Vlog.. 👍✔️.. Proud to be Malaysian.. 🇲🇾
We celebrate our differences that is why our public holidays are religious/cultural based. Our culture and belief are our identity. What makes us Malaysians is our shared values such as our hospitality.
The G (ground) floor follows the British style.
Love experiencing all the holidays!!
@@JetLagWarriors, if you’re in Sabah & Sarawak in late May to early June... you would be able to experience the Harvest festivals... If you go anywhere after September onwards, you would experience the fruit season. 😅
Ground floor is British even in the construction drawings.
woah, the video quality is like buttery smooth. and also when it comes to culture, we are pretty unique. hope when u guys get to revisit malaysia again, make sure to visit sabah n sarawak next. anyways thumbs up... =)
Thanks so much.
We wouldn’t miss Sabah Sarawak next time
Tried the McDonald's Malaysian ultimate prosperity burger that is only in season during Chinese New Year? I'm not a big fan of prosperity because of its sloppiness and peppery flavour. But i thought you might want to try.
Selamat Pengantin baru..
Hahaha
We’ve been here since the first mco from the USA and I agree with so much said I. This video!
Paula- are u still in Msia since Mac 2020?
Can't wait to see your reactions when visiting Sabah and Sarawak :)
Hopefully the border will open next year!
Thank you for this video. This reminds me again of how i deeply in love with this country. With all the shitty politician (i hate most of them), troubling economy and rising covid cases in Malaysia, most of us Malaysians wonder about the future of this country. But I still believe we can overcome all of this. Jom Malaysians. Lets us together-gether bring back our glory.
One of d things that makes travelling exciting, discovering different culture.

We used to do the recycling stuff! But it fell out of favor because it was costly. We used to have orange bin, blue bin and green bin. Mostly in schools and malls. If im not mistaken the G floor is because we follow the Bristish way. Actually many Muslim scholars are from Indonesia. Also Indonesia have the most muslim in the world if I recalled correctly. You are correct Steve, kampung people is much more friendly. People from end to end knows each other. Honestly I'd like to think that Malaysian multiculturalism is akin to New York or California but much more widely celebrated. One thing that I hope Malaysia would improve upon is politicians to stop playing with racial issues.
Ah yes people of all races live in harmony but the politicians is another story from what we have heard. We still love Malaysia
TBH recycling doesn’t do much. All the stuff that cannot be recycled anymore (at the end of its recycling life) end up being dumped in the sea....
And yes, Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world!
@@JetLagWarriors that is true. But I do hope that Malaysian would be more environmentally conscious especially when 2020 is one of the hottest year in the world. Also loving this kind of introspective/commentary style vlogs.
The reason why in malaysia the muslims are strict because it is control by a diff legislation court call syariah. Religious matters are handle by this court specifically. Syariah law is imposed to all muslims. Including drinking, gambling, marriage, seperation, even upon death of the family member the way all the assets were divided is also govern if u are a muslim. If u are a muslim in malaysia u cant go to civil court for matters such as above. Thats why we have alot of strict and conservative muslim still. This is my opinion.
The green n orange bins are still in use in Putrajaya.
Really love your video.... I like your comments on conservatism in religion. Here the teaching of religion of Islam for example is embedded in the education system + many send for extra classes in the islamic school after the normal school hours.
ah good to know, thanks!
We have many cases of break-ins so grills/fences are inevitable. Train is keretapi in both languages but indonesian just call it kereta
Mobil. but it's a new word from automobile. definitely not the native language. old Indonesian say it kereta before. and keratapi for trains just like Malaysia. newer generation doesn't know that
The Squatting Toilet?? Boom!! I almost forgot about that LOL
Terbaik 🤩🤗🤩🤩
Your point on traffic, maybe you didn't experience the pre-covid traffic in KL, the traffic is bad but I agree not as bad as Jakarta...
we were in KL in Jan last year before mco. It was still not too bad
Bruh, they been here pre covid. 🤣 for south east asian standard, our traffic are kindergarten level compared to literally every other main city in the region. except tiny singapore and brunei. bad traffic is inevitable in capital city but Malaysia is lucky to not be on the "horrible" side.
Pada jaman dahulu .. train disebut keretapi di Indonesia 9:19 boleh lihat pada film jadul Indonesia

Thank you to u both for ur compliments. Appreciate it very much. Hope u remember & enjoy our Malaysian Hospitality to the fullest. Do not hesitate to come again.
We do have a lot of multi in Malaysia. We have multi racial, multi culture, multi religion, multi language, multi state & etc. Then it become mix race then come nasi campur or nasi kandar 😂.
U can come across with people with face like Chinese skin like malay can speak like indian 😂. And the best part is they can understand slang in most state of Malaysia. 'Annae nasi kandar kuah banjir kasi tapau 1'.😂😆
That's what Malaysians are 🇲🇾🤗

For any train or bus trips over an hour long in West Msia, make sure u have a jacket or cardigan or scarf to keep warm. My cousin almost turned into a popsicle during our train ride from KL to Perlis. Her lips were purple when we finally got there...
lol!!
But why are buses always cold!!!
Even the Japanese realised that our classes, shopping complexes are that cold. I suggest Malaysian should relax a little bit about coldness.

Malaysia is so wonderful because of the multiracial people and a lot variety of food!!
Water hose at the toilet may be some of the best invention! Haha
hahaha lol what do you do when you travel aboard????🤔
Hahaha not a very picturesque scene but we can get it equally cleaned as if in Malaysia 😅🤣
@@JetLagWarriors mineral water and toilet paper or wet tissue...still with water ...as it feel cleaner.

Come to East Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak) next time. Both of you would surprise with the nature & island here such as Kinabalu Park, Sepilok, Sipadan, Taman Negara Mulu & etc.
I believe KERETA derived from Portuguese word CARRETA (cart).
oh cool!
G floor is labelling is same as per UK and for most of the commonwealth countries. Even in Australia, HK Singapore and etc
An Indonesian explained it thus:
Because of Gov't policies, Chinese assimilated into Indonesian culture, language, names, etc. So you'll have Chinese named Putri, for example.
In Malaysia the Chinese, Indians, etc. very much retained their culture, language, names, etc.
Still we don't know what else they want? They get to practice their own culture and religion, get to have their cultural name, go to vernacular school. What else do they want?
It's good to hear from 3rd party unbiased opinions... things we take for granted
😆 I love both of you. Thank you share your opinion about malaysia. Long journey with lot experience. I miss roti canai banana. 😂

Many westerners which never stayed in Malaysia got a negative impression of us. So the saying goes: "You will never know a country until you really stayed for couple of months." So, the advise here is, never judge a book by its cover. Right???
That’s right. But it’s not that many westerners have negative impressions, rather they just don’t know about Malaysia!
@@jameslim3850 yea!! Actually the BN are bringing the races together. During the childhood, we used to play with other races but i don't see that anymore nowadays
@@aimisakee867 Due to fitnah and lies by DAP and Pakatan to takeover power , the races and people are easily DIVIDED by them.
@@jameslim3850 many were decieved before the election. After they took over everybody regretted they decisions and apparently they had it better when BN was ruling. At least many initiaves were given. That 22 months were only empty promises and lies
ac and heater....lol...when i was in vancouver, everytime we got in a car we always scream (kinnda) "turn on the heater"..back to malaysia "turn on the AC"...
@8:00 About the elevator/lift, it is because partly superstitious and partly mystery, the reason don't have those levels because of the belief that the numbers would bring you bad luck (from Chinese superstition) and there are some stories about people end up in different places, other world, haunted floor and something like that if using real numbers. Don't know if the stories are true or not but it is urban legend.

U guys r incredible....
Thank you
For me as a local, the friendliest people are sabahan and sarawakian.
Our m'sian train is 'keretaapi"
You are right about the AC. As a Malaysian, I still do not understand why we set the temperature so low. I hate being in trains and buses. Even in many buildings, it is also very cold and way below the ideal temperature of around 22-25C. Maybe it is because the electricity and the petrol cost in Malaysia is too cheap. We tend to waste a lot energy and water in this country.
Yes, it freezing cold in the express bus. 😅
whyyyy🥶🥶🥶
Yup bus are cold, some bring their own blanket. I always regret if not bring my own sweeter.
🥶🥶🥶
The air condition in Malaysia sometimes become colder than usual or not cold as it should be. Sometimes 22 degree is too cold but sometimes 20 degree not cold enough. It depends on the weather outside too.
It would be nice if you experience our medical sectors as well. Malaysia health system was voted as number 1 in 2020. If you do, you would be able to share how different it is compare to Canada and other countries that you have been.
