After seeing the depressing news that Yuji Hori was forced to make changes to Dragon Quest 3 simply to appease DEI ESG freaks. Even he was confused as to why they had to insert non binary or body type A or B nonsense in the game in addition to censored art. Which if it's no big deal,as some crazy people say, then why change it? It's a question they can't answer. So seeing Lore play one of the top 10 games ever made,I play it every year, was a nice thing to see. Not being a PC gamer, never liked the mouse or keyboard, the first time I played this was for the PS1 back in 95 when I was 26. Playing the game co op linkable with two TVs was amazing. Still have two PS1s actually with an old school gaming room for things like light guns on the Saturn and Colecovision ECT and occasionally play Doom co op with them. Since then I've played the game so many times on almost every system that it was made for. First played the original unaltered of version on the OG Xbox version of Doom 3. Since then every version has been improved in different ways. This one is really good and playing 4 player split screen co op works great. It plays great on the Xbox Series X and the options are nice. The mods are great as well but just so people know Brutal Doom will not work with this game at all. It is not compatible with the engine and they didn't want to pay or get permission to use GZdoom. So sadly it will not work ever unless someone remakes the game from the ground up. And for the record I love the original soundtrack but the remix is great. Not every change or update in games is bad. It's only when people obsessed with DEI change things to suit their agenda over what is good for the game that it becomes a problem. Sadly that happens far too often now.
I remember playing DOOM back in the day using , and . to strafe, arrow keys for movement (forward/backward and turn left/right), control to fire, number keys to select weapon, and space to open doors. It was Hexen that introduced me to the joys of circle strafing, and either Hexen or Quake where I sat down to figure out a good set of controls to play with mouse and keyboard, basically inventing WSAD from first principles (why WSAD specifically? Closest to the numbers for weapon selection). Of course, other people also invented it independently, and I may have heard the idea mentioned somewhere, in which case I would have been less creating it entirely from first principles, and more confirming their work by figuring out why that would be the best system. As a matter of curiosity, does this version of the game still accept the old cheat codes? I still remember most of them, decades later. IDDQD to toggle "god mode" (typed in while playing) is probably the least disruptive to a playthrough's integrity since it should be easy to toggle off again. IDDT cycled the automap through a few different statuses. IDSPISPOPD was the no-clip cheat (later games changed it to IDCLIP). IDFA and IDKFA unlock all weapons and fill your ammo, or do that and give you all keys too, respectively, but is disruptive since you can't get rid of the weapons. And then there's the family of apply-powerup cheats, which I don't fully remember - IDBEHOLDx with the 'x' replaced with the relevant letter for the powerup - R for rad suit; I and V for invisibility and invulnerability (I think that way round)...
if I'm understanding correctly, listing the games where you could switch from original to remixed or re-orchestrated on the fly, Final Fantasy X (and X-2?) on PC was able to
That remix is sick!

To answer your question: yes, the cheats still work.
Didn't John Carmack also say something along the lines that Doom 3 is how they always imagined doom in their heads? And that game is story focused.

Command & Conquer remake too.
Its Doom!
