Corgi Renovation Smith's Karrier Bantam Mobile Shop # 407. Diecast Model Toy.

The model of the door-to-door shop on the chassis of the popular Bantam car was manufactured at the Meetoy factory in 1957. The model was in a scale of 1 to 43. It was produced until 1962. To display the subtitles in your language at the bottom of the film, please press C on the computer or the three dots on the mobile phone in the movie. A very successful reproduction of the original car translated into sales success and gave rise to many different variations of this model. It was also sold as a butcher's shop or a food truck. My model had the original glass cracked. I had to cut out the cracked fragments and paste in new ones. I was also able to recreate the original color. I found a fragment of the original mint-colored paint under the sticker on the front. I also made the missing tires for this model from black-tinted polyurethane, and new stickers of white self-adhesive foil. I completed the entire renovation by making a copy of the box. Very nice restoration The remake of the sidewindows are awesome. The original seems to have a twotonepaintjob. I think such a paint sceme would look a little better on the van. The recreation of the cardbox is awesome too.

These ( Real ones !) used to come round where My Grandparents lived. During the summer holidays We would alternate each year between them coming to Us in Bournemouth and Us going to them in Shrewsbury. When the Shop came round either Grandma or Grandpa would take Us out to buy sweets. I remember the Driver/ shopkeeper opening the back doors and the glorious aroma of freshly baked bread, buns and confectionery hitting You , follwed by bacon and fresh meats. One time We bought fresh Goose eggs and Bacon off of Him. Now sadly distant Memories, but Watching this video I could smell that Bread again!

they are made of molding polyurethane, have a hardness of 77 Shore and are larger than normal rubber

Does anyone know if vans like this were widely used? Never heard of a mobile shop before as someone from across the pond. Delivery vans, yes, but not a whole cramped shop that stops on your street!

When I was a child in the early 1950s we had a green grocer who came by our house each week with all his wares packed/displayed in a one ton ex-army truck. At that time it was quite common for electric milk floats to carry a small range of groceries as well. Into the nineties I remember a mobile knife sharpener doing the rounds of the restaurants in central London with his grinding wheel set up in the back of 1950s Morris commercial van - and mobile libraries were common in my childhood too, they might still be going in some rural areas.

It is true. It is better not to put them in, as aluminum reacts quite aggressively to caustic soda. But for the short term it shouldn't be a problem. In this case, I couldn't get the wheels off the axle, so I chose the lesser evil. Best wishes

thank you very much. The "matchbox" models were sold in the 70s, sporadically in Poland, later they went to internal export stores called Pewex, and other companies came to the Polish market, illegally imported by private persons
