- Corgi Volkswagen 1500 Karmann Ghia is a model of a popular sports car produced by Meetoy in the years 1963 - 1968. I decided to save the model, which was badly damaged by the previous owner. To display the subtitles in your language in the movie, please press C on the computer or the three dots on the mobile phone in the movie. Volkswagen did not have a roof at all, so rebuilding it was out of the question. I decided to make the Custom version. For this I needed to make a convertible windshield and a folding roof. My cockpit had a hole and I poured a new resin cockpit. Despite very large damage to the body, I renovated it. Additionally, I made a box suitable for a convertible. I was modeled on the original Corgi packaging No. 239. Thank you for watching the movie, I publish videos with the repair of cars on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

You have done the same idea as I did a few years ago, got it thought what should I do, make it a convertible, mine isn't as good as yours as my window screen is made out of an old plastic carton cut to size and bent to shape using an electric fire for the heat, the cover I made From good cardboard.I thought it was odd did not think they made convertibles in that car but you proved me to be right in doing it. Jealous of yours it came out better than mine. Well done with it looked really smart. 👍👍🙏🙏
If you bend a few more panes, you will surely be satisfied with the effect. You just have to train all the time. But I'm glad that you are doing something in this topic, because nothing is as enjoyable as your own work. Best wishes

Very good! I think that the paint job is a bit too shiny and thick from the original. This effectively highlights up the imperfections in the castings. Maybe they baked the paint so it went a bit dull.

Taka moja sugestia dotycząca kierownicy lepiej wyglądała jak była by pomalowana na brązowo lub czarny kolor
gdybym jeszcze raz robił kokpit pominął bym to koło kierownicy i wpasował tam kierownicę na przykład z któregoś traktora matchbox

This is a Type 3 ghia much rarer then a regular ghia one of the Holy Grails of air-cooled Volkswagens
I was just going to chime in with a similar comment. These are my favorite VW of all time. I've only seen a handful in person.

I have been waiting to see you fix up that one! VW never actually made a production model of the Type 34 Ghia convertible, but they did build prototypes. Surprisingly VW never sold the Type 34 in the US, but they did sell them here in Canada, and some of them have survived. The Type1 based Ghias were much more popular here, though. Great job on restoring your Corgi!

I love watching the casting process, but I am sure it takes much, much longer than it does on camera! How long, would you say, for a typical full casting of a new part process? I'd love to give it a try! Up till about 14.00mins in, I was SURE you were going to do a Salt Flat racer with a tonneau and no screen! It would have disguised the interior a bit. Nice rescue, though!

Zawsze podziwiam Twoje odlewy szyb, opon i innych cześci. Może masz radę jak zrobiś oszklenie w modelach samolotów jak np. Mały Modelarz w skali 1:33 ? Formę można zrobić z papieru z zawsze dostępnego wzoru. Dalej nie mam pomysłu : )
Teraz przygotowuję taki projekt samolotu Hurricane firmy Dinki i ten samolot nie miał szyby dlatego Wykonałem wstępną formę następnie odlałem ją w silikonie i otrzymałem formę negatywową. Następnie zalałem ją żywicą poliuretanową i dopasowałem żywicę już końcowo i dzięki temu mogłem odlać szybę na przykład z żywicy epoksydowej Crystal line.
