4 Schuco wind-up models and 1 key. Building the track, repairing the mechanism and detailing.

The Mini Racer is a very interesting die-cast model with a spring drive. I had never heard of it before. It was only my friend from the USA in Portland, who had exactly the same one as a child, who sent me a model in the original packaging with a key. This key was the so-called Holy Grail for me, because I previously had four sheet metal Schuco models, but unfortunately I could not test their drive - because I did not have this particular key. In today's video I would like to present all the models. I repaired the spring mechanism in one of them. I also built a track and presented the driving qualities of these Schuco models from the 1950s. Finally, I made a copy of the boxes in which I could pack my models. Maestro!! What cool cars! I had an identical Micro Racer when I was a young boy. I found if you don't wind them all the way up, the power is delivered more uniformly to the rear wheels. The laps are not as fast, but you don't spin out. Also, those original tires could use a silicon treatment to soften them up to adhere to the road better. I have a set of the Varianto Schucos. The spring track could be any shape you wanted, as the grooved front wheel straddled the wire. Thank you for sharing your cool toys!! ❤❤ Stephen

Coincidentally,I have the Shuco red racer and yellow racer from the ship I came to Canada on in 1967. One car has a broken spring the other one has the switch snapped off. Lots of kids on the ship had them and were racing them on the Ballroom dance floor.
