TIL that that 4+ scorpions can counter CA. Wouldn't have ever thought of it, and haven't heard it mentioned on any streams I've watched. That detail about the extra pierce armour is great - thanks!
why are Huns better at early aggression if they don't get any ecobonus? Civilization bonuses Start the game with -100 wood, but with the population cap at the maximum. On Nomadic maps, the first Town Center spawns a Hunnic Horse. Mounted archers are 10%/20% cheaper in the Castle/Imperial Age. Trebuchets have +35% accuracy against units.[note 2] Team bonus Stables work 20% faster. They have the fast working stables, going on for them, but that means they need to get to Feudal (which they can't do fast), build the barracks, build the stable, and get overflow in food to sustain stable production... yes they don't need houses but with -100wood you don't see the payoff on that until mid Feud game... and the fact that what they produce is scouts fast means that the enemy even if it's late in terms of military production buildings (let's say they don't have a range nor stable) will have the barracks that is what is needed to counter you raid attempt... Unlike MAA opening or archer opening that will require you to invest into that second military building or a watch tower (or wall up for MAA). I'm trying to learn with mongols first and master early aggression before moving to other civs, but I don't understand why Huns are good... btw I see people commenting this quite often, so I know its a well know thought and not only survivalist opinion... But I wouldn't know how to make Huns work for me over other civs... Even Japanese I think I can visualize room for early aggression, but i'm blank when thinking on Huns :S
You have to factor in the build time of building houses as well. Houses cost 25 wood + 25 seconds villager work time + x number of seconds the villager had to walk to the house and back. It probably works out to like 40+ wood in a lot of situations. This, coupled with the faster working stable lets you do very fast scouts. Not need to make houses also frees up your time for microing. Generic economy can consistently do 17 villager uptimes at high level these days so it's really not that slow.
@@SurvivalistAoE Thanks, if you put it that way it makes total sense, I was thinking only in terms of wood cost and I didn't thought villager time + "mental/APM" cost that links to pay constant attention to be sure not to get housed, tasking villagers to the right follow up action after they build the house... You are 100% right, I stopped scout openings in big part because of that, I was getting housed late Feud and I'm not in a point where I can juggle both good macro and micro of my units... Survivalist really appreciate your channel and your content. Thanks! Still pending to book the coaching session with you, I'm starting to beat extreme AI consistently, so it's a matter of time before I jump to the ranked ladder and book it (don't want to waste the session before that). When I do book for this, please consider I'm consciously working towards supper aggressive gameplay (17pop-no loom super open), so I really appreciate if the feedback is made with that in mind, hope to build the courage this month ;)
Burgundians have solid skirms. Knight/skirm or coustillier/skirm should be the play here. Opening triple stable knight once you've seen the cav archer play seems shaky. Getting in with the cavalier would never do the damage worth giving up all the cavalier either. Even if you get 10+ vils giving up 15 cavalier you are dead on the attack back.
Great coaching, think it's pretty obvious when towering a woodline is a good idea, what're your thoughts on burgundians? I feel like they just die to camel/gunpowder civs on arabia.
Burgundians are really good against civs that can't punish their greed. They struggle vs faster civs like Franks/Mongols, thought it's more of a momentum thing. If Burgundians can somehow get ahead early (laming/killing early villager), it's really hard to fight them.
I’ve found success with Malians, Huns, and tartars… who should I try next.. I think the earlier I attack the less time I have to make mistakes as a 1000elo on console…

@@SurvivalistAoE Thanks bro
chur boss still at it
I’ve found success with Malians, Huns, and tartars… who should I try next.. I think the earlier I attack the less time I have to make mistakes as a 1000elo on console…
Walling after scouting has been huge for me too
Its Tatars as turko-mongolic ethnic group not tartars like mayo sauce...
this is 1400?
unless you have camels, I guess
Can we confirm that blue's idle tc time is the main reason for the win? He had a decent eco lead throughout the game against burgandians.
Franks: Well shit, a non camel civilization I can't raid in Castle Age.
Worst knight raid ever :D
Keep the awesome coaching videos going!! By watching you I climbed 300elo for like two weeks.. now I’m 1550
