You should play racing sections in non racing games. Cyberpunk 2077 has a racing event I'm sure you would like. I recommend getting the Javalina muscle car. It has the best handling when it comes to on road and off road.
They definitely didn't directly translate from the English script when they dubbed it into Japanese. Listening to it in Japanese I can say that the people involved in dubbing it were given some freedom to make it more natural for the Japanese audience.
@@rinzu1 I'd argue having the second biggest animation industry does mean they're probably up there for voice actors. Are the best Japanese voice actors better than American voice actors? I don't know. But it's kind of hard to compare in a way. It's like comparing apples to oranges.
It already kinda is. Think about it. The MC returns to his homeland after a long time of exile. Has a reoccurring rival/villain in the form of Cross pestering him. The MC's ex girlfriend is a Tsundere (Nikki). The MC has a sidekick who's a big fan (Sal). He is constantly having to prove his strength/skills by defending his territory from other crews. He is looked down on by his enemies (Kenji, Angie, Wolf). But they all get their comeuppance and have to admit defeat. After the MC is betrayed by his former friend who turned out to be the main villain and reason for the exile, (Darius) the other enemies join him to try and take the MC down. But they all fail miserably. After the main villain is defeated, HE is now the one exiled and the MC takes his place at the top with his Girlfriend Nikki at his side. Idk about you. But that sounds like an anime to me
We need an anime about NFS following the UG2 - Carbon storyline. Some OVAs/Side Series for NFS Payback, NFS The Run, and NFS Unbound would be good too.
In the past, there has never been any Need for Speed title that could be compared to Carbon, and in the future, there will not be any game that can surpass it. NFS: Carbon represents the pinnacle of the NFS series, an unrivaled classic that cannot be surpassed.
Not even close. NFS Carbon was actually the beginning of the downfall of the entire franchise. For starters, every race has you in first place in a matter of 10 seconds or less. Even if you're so bad that you manage to not be in first place within a matter of seconds, your crew member will probably win for you anyway, especially if you use a Scout. Most Wanted could be challenging, this is inexcusable. Yes, Darius is hard but that doesn't make up for the rest of the game, 99% of your playthrough, being a snoozefest. The games length is extremely short, it feels like half the game is done in 30 minutes. It's like they didn't have time to make a proper career mode. Worse, the races have length dictated by district, the races have length dictated by district - if you start an exotic career then races in Fortuna are extremely long, and races in Kempton can be completed in less than a minute. You barely have any time to use the tier 3 cars, like less than an hour of playtime - if you wanted to drive an Evo (which shouldn't be unlocked at the same time as the Carrera GT) then too bad. The career mode has no police challenges like MW, rendering their existence irrelevant. They could have easily used this to increase the length of the career mode, under the notion that you must impress rival crews and gain notoriety before they will allow you to fight them for their district. The tier system removes variety from the car list as you're arbitrarily forced to use cars you don't want or you remain at a disadvantage which is ridiculous and completely, for absolutely no reason throws away the system in the previous 3 games where every car is fully competitive throughout the entire game. Even in Most Wanted, the OPM demo advertises that you can tune your car to beat ANY class of car, so why was this removed for no reason? Carbon is severely lacking in the tuner segment, and not having the WRX/Evo/Skyline/Supra/G35/350Z unlocked at mid game as they would have been in MW harms the car list even further. Many of the cars that would be awesome additions to the game like the Lotus Evora, CCX, Zonda, 911 GT3 RS, AE86, MR2, IS300, Eclipse 2G, GTO, Camaro Concept, Chevelle SS, and the Roadrunner have little to no customization and can't be unlocked in career mode, rendering them useless. Worse, they removed many vehicles - Audi TT, Audi A3, Audi A4, Cadillac CTS, Cobalt SS, Fiat Punto, Golf GTI, SL500, Porsche 911 GT2, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Porsche 911 Carrera S, and the Corvette C6.R. Customization was stripped down to save memory - each car from Most Wanted is missing one bodykit and 65%+ of hoods were deleted. This is replaced with Autosculpt which uses the exact same spoilers, some new hoods that are mostly ugly and nonsensical, and only four bumpers per car which are ugly and dull. A massive downgrade from Underground's system with 25+ bumpers - Carbon should have used the new dev cycle to get content up to par with the Underground series on next gen. Customization is less accessible and more time consuming - this is to be expected for Autosculpt, but the vinyl system is a massive pain in the a$$ to use and placing decals now is painstakingly difficult. This effectively locks out these customization options because most players can't be bothered to deal with it whereas customization was very fast in MW outside of syncing decals on both sides. The sense of speed is lower because exotics/tuners are slower than they were in MW for balancing purposes with the new class system, so the game feels very slow in comparison, even in tier 3 fully upgraded tuners/exotics. The artstyle tried to copy Underground and failed completely by not capturing any of the nuances of it or introducing anything that's new and interesting excluding nice looking canyons. Like MW, the game is covered in an awful filter that saps out all color, game looks better without it or with it lessened. UG1 had a very strong color palette in its environments with locations that had strong visual differentiation, Carbon looks so terrible by comparison. Only three songs play in races, yes THREE songs, and the licensed soundtrack is almost completely unused since it's only used in free roam/checkpoint races. Technically, these were supposed to be dynamic but the game is so easy that you're always in first place so you never hear the losing variants unless actively forcing yourself to not be miles ahead of the opposition. Some aspects of the soundtrack are very weak compared to UG1 or MW, rock in particular is horrible for both listening and racing. Drifting has terrible physics compared to Underground and even if you like them, the A.I. only gets about 10k points per run making it impossible to lose after one or two successful drifts. Something scummy that everybody forgets is that Carbon was one of, if not EA's first foray into microtransactions and on-disc DLC. Cars released post-launch consisted of content, such as the G35, that already had entries and assets on sixth gen and were fully usable if unlocked via a cheat device. Additionally, cars and aftermarket parts could be bought for small amounts of real cash, unlocking them instantly and permanently for no in-game currency. This was rather controversial in the gaming community at the time, even if it feels relatively minor in hindsight, comparing it to what the gaming industry would do and become. EA did it again with Mass Effect 3 and the blowback was much louder, so why not here six years prior? Had it been controversial enough when Carbon was released, perhaps this particular disaster in Mass Effect 3 could have been avoided. In conclusion, NFS Carbon is severely overrated. It's nostalgic and had the potential to be good, but has nothing going for it beyond that. It's a rushed mess with zero worthwhile innovation yet many downgrades. Carbon didn't need much innovation, it only needed to expand upon what Most Wanted built while bringing in far more content, but they couldn't even do that. It doesn't hold a candle to UG1, UG2, or MW.
Watching this while remembering Kaleido Star. Nikki's JP voice sounds hot tho. 2:40 that anime was good but it only had one season. That demon lord had a lot of plot relevance ✊
