Actually in the final pursuit in career story u get heat level 6 & chased by a bunch of federal undercover vehicles & some heavy SUVs & in the final challenge series u get heat level 7 & chased by a bunch of heavy SUVs
Also, they're not just regular Heavy SUVs, they're the supercharged version. Regular Heavy SUVs only give 15k bounty, whereas the supercharged ones give the same as the Federal undercover vehicles. (Feel free to correct me, cause I feel I ain't correct)
Dude this is a War between cops and the player. Best cops ever in a game. I love these cops since my childhood. See how realistic is the chat between the cops here 10:07 "what kind of road block is that, come on people" The fact is no other games can defeat our NFSMW till now.
No other games can defeat NFSMW? Rivals dethroned it. It followed MW 2005's footsteps for being the deadliest cops possible. Unbound sucks, literally, but Rivals nailed it out of the park with it's adrenaline pumping police chases, and instead of the cops driving Corvettes, they are driving hyper cars.
I love the contrast between all the different cop voices, too. General cops, kind of mumbly. Cross is desperate to catch you. And the chopper pilot.... well.... cool, calm, collected. All the little things in this game made it just the very best NFS I've ever played in my life. Love it to bits and it'll always have a special place in my heart.
I think it's much more likely these higher heat levels were scrapped due to performance issues. The game was meant to release on something like 10 different platforms and having 167 cars in pursuit of the player at once would've made the framerate unplayable on the PS2.
Yet more games held back by consoles and low-end PCs... Not saying it's an entirely bad thing but it's starting to get really bad nowadays with developers wasting time with porting games to all consoles or worse, mobile phones.
@@tcrzsppr3163 What developers waste time on is irrelevancies and good graphics, when old games like these are still golden and often even have better art style. Too many new games are unfinished and gameplay-wise subpar compared to older games. But hey, at least the graphics are good! The quality of video games hit a plateau at least 10 years ago, and now they just take 10x the space and look only slightly better. We could have just stuck with PS3/Xbox 360.
11:51 i played this game a lot when i was a kid but i never noticed that the police on the radio says " he is going into the golf court again " if you are takin this route twice in a single pursuit man this game is aging like a wine
I wish there was some sort of takedown animation for the helicopter where when you hit it with a pursuit breaker it explodes and spins out of control. There is as well cut lines for the helicopter being destroyed, it was cut because then the age rating of the game would have been increased.
8:25 Cross: "What kind of roadblock is that?! Cmon people!" Yeah, Id also frustrated it *most wanted* racer bypassed double spike roadblock this effortlessly
I like the pursuit music changing once they hit condition 10. Also hearing all this unused dialogue in an already crazy in depth radio chatter is really cool. I like how it feels like Cross starts to talk alot more into the radio as he grows desperate to take you down
This game had dynamic music that had 'modules' of music clips that could connect into each other, and essentially make a full and even possibly endless score. It works soooooo well, and still sounds incredible.
@@FosFate well its kinda not that either, the music just changes every 10 minutes. It could've been any of the other pursuit themes other than the one that was already playing.
You are waaay too comfortable driving at 260mph with heat 10 AND OP AI. What a skill. Thank you for this intense, nostalgic and very insightful pursuit. MW was a masterpiece.
I love that this is not a ridiculous mod, but just unlock of something that was supposed to be in the game. The chatter is great, especially the level 10 "this is not a drill" line. The one thing that disappointed me is that on the higher levels, I don't really see a difference other than more cars. I remember how challenge #69 added level 7 and supercharged rhinos. I expected this kind of progression.
I just realized that in NFS games with locked minimap we all subconsciously constantly go north (up), because it is much more convenient to see the direction of our movement on the minimap. It's the same in this video. Almost constantly the player went up. Human psychology is amazing!
He did use it well however at times too much still. Although prob just coz of the stress while recording this trying to escape lol was a great chase. 🚨🔥
I'd use the speed breaker every time I went through a pursuit breaker to cancel out the little cutscenes. I don't know how many times I'd hit that damn doughnut, it'd show that cutscene. Then the camera would go back to my car sitting in a cop car pileup. Lol
Finally, the most important thing that I saw this video is the *police radio is truly fixed and it includes the conditions from 6 to 10* - what a time to be alive!
The driving was amazing! That slip thru the roadblock at 200+ mph 😮💨 imagine how much more fun it would’ve been going against condition 6 - 10 cops as a kid in the story
I know this is an old comment, but even on vanilla PS2 I saw the helicopter in road blocks, civilian vehicles and occasionally an 18 wheeler or just the trailer as part of the road block.
@@grantkendrick277I always wondered how that can be achieved... I played both the standard edition for GameCube and the Black Edition for PC for many, many hours each, and only once there was a car in the roadblock.
@@derGameplayDJBit flips can make a program do weird things. At one point I even saw a helicopter as part of a road block. It's the ultimate block really: it is completely unmovable so don't crash into it.
I like the hud and placement of every feature on screen in NFS MW 2005. For example You can know where the cops are by simply glaring at the top and not needing to press a key to look behind you. You can tell a police is nearby just by watching the radar at the top , the heat level just as close of the map giving You more insight of what's happening and taking better decisions.
Sucks that in the base game they limit us to heat level 5. At least they should’ve let us go to heat level 6 in the career, make pursuits even harder and more intense with the SUV’s actually keeping up with the player and the heavy undercover corvettes
Heat level 6 and 7 are present in the Black Edition, but yet the base game is only limited to heat level 5, except for the final pursuit. I think the reason why it's not possible to go beyond heat level 5 is probably because it would be too hard for some player. Most people were also either children or early teenagers when the game came out, I was 8 when the game came out, I probably would've raged and yell very loud if they kept heat levels 6 - 10
Maybe that they only want us to reach Heat Level 5 instead of Heat Level 6 because Heat Level 6 is probably too difficult for players to manage and survive.
What I really appreciated about the mods you used is how they utilised the unused voice clips mentioning condition (or heat level) 6 to 10. I really like this
The real challenge is not the pursuit itself, but evade it. I used to use the same localization to evade myself but timing with the arrival of the backup. You just went nuts and evaded over 150 cars, amazing. Also, let's appreciate how slow the cooldown is WITH the hidding spot, because before entering the hidding spot it goes 5 times slower. Good old days.
It’s SO cool to see how the extra heat levels would’ve been in this game had they been not cut. I would love to have police in the new games be even half as good this. Hearing Cross order the police around like this honestly makes me wonder why most of his voice lines were cut. Phenomenal gameplay
I think the reason for the cut heat lvs 6-10 where because they thought it would be to difficult for the player to handle and they might soft lock them self's when all there cars are heat lv 6 or higher.
It kinda becomes impossible to invade unless you cheese it. The cops literally spawn on top of you. And trying to escape even heat level 6, you are unintentionally climbing higher. For the finals chase it would have been good. But not free roam.
I really appreciate the attention to detail that went into those police voice lines. They actually call you out for going through certain areas repeatedly!

I lost it at both the first police car hitting the pillar and the helicopter noclipping through that building, also flawless driving, makes me want to get that game again

Virgin Unbound players crying that a honda S2000 beat their Koenigsegg regera while Chad Most Wanted players casually racing with a whole police department
The attention to detail on cop communications in this game is just awesome, when you entered the golf course for the second time, one of the cops said "there he goes again, he is in the golf course!" By the way, FANTASTIC driving, NFS MW 2005 is my favorite racing game and you made me wanna jump in it again!!
Damn that escalated a ton when the Heat 10 backup arrived. 80 cop backup in Heat 8 to 170 cops in Heat 10. Even the vanilla pursuits are unmatched in this game and they haven't been able to top it since.

great pursuit. loved hearing an actual video having the cut quotes for conditions used in pursuits. i'm a big fan of cut content for this game. i want to give my input to why this wasnt used in the final game. time constraints for developers and players. they probably ran out of time to add to the pursuit mechanic as the first 5 conditions maybe took already too much time to add in the first place. this would probably take too much time for a player to reach the extra conditions as well. they seem to not have ideas for additional vehicle unit names and vehicles. if they had extra conditions to work with, they would need to implement extra tactics and formations. there are unused formations called "box/box formations" and "Spearhead/Spearhead Formation". there were also plans to have pursuers drop spike strips in front of you (instead of roadblocks deploying them) and projectiles as heard by cut quotes mentioning dropping spikes and using projectiles (i.e explosives). helicopters originally had weaponry for use as they mention "Ordnance" and "Payloads" (Our weapons payload is dry. we will be back on station once we reload") they say along the lines of "suspect hit. vehicle looks damaged". these were removed very likely to maintain a fair difficulty for pursuits. having additional systems to the extra conditions may have been too RAM intensive for the game to handle. what do you guys think? i may have missed some stuff but maybe we can discuss some more some stuff i noticed in this video. cops catching on fire. pretty funny considering that blowing up gas pumps originally have cops mentioning fires and requesting the fire department. the helicopter going down? they did consider disabling helicopters but may have been disturbing to put as cops report the helicopter going down and crashing. again. great video, hope to see more of this
I just had a very similar formation at heat level 1, though that was probably a fluke. They definitely start doing that at the higher heat levels in game normally though.
Just... WOW, I cannot believe that you survived such an intense pursuit, your skills are immaculate as a driver in MW, you're THE best player, by far that I've seen, without a doubt! Also, the Hero Skyline is just absolute fire, I think that it's just as good, if not better than the M3 E46, oh, and the light trail along with the ludicrously fast speeds, I was just AMAZED, even mindblown, and the Carbon sound really fits the Skyline GTR R34, too. Simply put, incredible job with everything, including the editing, you deserve a lot more views than this!! I also cannot believe that EA scrapped all that amazing cop dialogue above Condition/Heat 5, typical EA, screw them, it wouldn't surprise me if they screwed NFS Unbound in some way, too. **sigh** Also, thank you modders so much for improving the cop AI, it really amazes me how much appreciation this game gets from modders like you, which reminds me, I've just installed a beta heat level mod, and BOY does it offer a challenge like the cops in your game.
@@xr.spedtech You can also do Alt + F4 for that exact reason, too, both are honestly life savers when it comes to tough cop situations, can't deny that, haha.

Rivals did follow MW 2005 and HP 2010's footsteps lol, they're the deadliest cops than MW 2005 because they are armed with their weapons of war, kinda like Hot Pursuit but on steroids. MW 2005's cops will give you mercy in lower heat levels but in Heat Levels 4 and 5, you're in big trouble.
Справедливости ради - пилот тоже не всегда был спокойным. А вот бомбёшка Кросса реально доставляла. Ибо нефиг было портить чужую тачку!😎
Or because cops spawn out of thin air for no reason

@@tcrzsppr3163 What developers waste time on is irrelevancies and good graphics, when old games like these are still golden and often even have better art style. Too many new games are unfinished and gameplay-wise subpar compared to older games. But hey, at least the graphics are good! The quality of video games hit a plateau at least 10 years ago, and now they just take 10x the space and look only slightly better. We could have just stuck with PS3/Xbox 360.

So the chopper is considered as a federal pursuit vehicle and can be destroyed by the stadium pursuit breaker.
In the vanilla version the chopper can be destroyed by any breaker.
I wish there was some sort of takedown animation for the helicopter where when you hit it with a pursuit breaker it explodes and spins out of control. There is as well cut lines for the helicopter being destroyed, it was cut because then the age rating of the game would have been increased.
The chopper doesn’t give bounty, it just disappears

8:26 "What kind of roadblock is that c'mon"
The music change isn't for Heat 10, it was the Backup music that plays at all levels

It is a lot harder in heat level 5
Above that gamers won't like the difficulty level of the game
@@guywithnohaiircut8767 heat level 5 is not hard at all. Plus skill issue if you can’t go against heat level 6 cops and above
I totally agree! How I wish that Heat Level 6 can be in the Career Mode! It's hard but fun!
I really like this
Part of me is wondering which of the mods used is the one that adds those Conditions 6 to 10 radio lines.
@@brianwong7285 i think these voice lines where already in the game

You just went nuts and evaded over 150 cars, amazing. Also, let's appreciate how slow the cooldown is WITH the hidding spot, because before entering the hidding spot it goes 5 times slower. Good old days.
True. Everytime i complete all the bounties and wanna evade the pursuit, i would get fucked up by the police
And also on higher heat levels, cops also spawn near the cooling spots. So you have to be careful to not get spotted.

Wildest? Wait till you hear Rivals' cops lad.
great pursuit. loved hearing an actual video having the cut quotes for conditions used in pursuits. i'm a big fan of cut content for this game. i want to give my input to why this wasnt used in the final game.
time constraints for developers and players. they probably ran out of time to add to the pursuit mechanic as the first 5 conditions maybe took already too much time to add in the first place. this would probably take too much time for a player to reach the extra conditions as well.
they seem to not have ideas for additional vehicle unit names and vehicles.
if they had extra conditions to work with, they would need to implement extra tactics and formations. there are unused formations called "box/box formations" and "Spearhead/Spearhead Formation". there were also plans to have pursuers drop spike strips in front of you (instead of roadblocks deploying them) and projectiles as heard by cut quotes mentioning dropping spikes and using projectiles (i.e explosives). helicopters originally had weaponry for use as they mention "Ordnance" and "Payloads" (Our weapons payload is dry. we will be back on station once we reload") they say along the lines of "suspect hit. vehicle looks damaged". these were removed very likely to maintain a fair difficulty for pursuits.
having additional systems to the extra conditions may have been too RAM intensive for the game to handle.
what do you guys think? i may have missed some stuff but maybe we can discuss some more
some stuff i noticed in this video. cops catching on fire. pretty funny considering that blowing up gas pumps originally have cops mentioning fires and requesting the fire department.
the helicopter going down? they did consider disabling helicopters but may have been disturbing to put as cops report the helicopter going down and crashing.
again. great video, hope to see more of this
