Inside a year, I've learnt how to start a nitro, to buying adam drake engines and can break them in and now 4 gallons in and doing my own rods. Lost some engines on the way. But in a year I'm now confident with what I'm doing more and more it's coming naturally

Miss it the nitro smell in the morning. Last time I rode nitro was back in 2010 I think. Made a low res video of it. It was a Kyosho Alpha Pure 10 with an European Opel/Vauxhall body.
Gave the car away to a kid from a church I went to back then.

hey my dude! Im glad you appreciated the multitude of camera angles in this video, lol. Anyway, that isn't a go-pro session. It's a regular go pro hero 8 Black. The session has close to ZERO stabilization, the footage would be extremely shaky with this view. Also I was on superview mode with the highest level of Hyper Smooth!! lol.. hey buddy! how you doin! I see you're a new subscriber to the channel, I'm glad to have you here. And yes, it makes the first start much easier, in fact on very high end motors you almost cannot start them due to their crazy high compression. It's not 100% needed on a motor like this, but can't hurt.
This car i would like to have in my collection. I used to sell the older version of this car when i worked in a hobbyshop. But this body with the high output engine makes my heart pump even harder these days. A really cool rallycar.
hey dude! how you doing! I remember the old WR8 model with the funny looking fiesta body, never really liked the old one, but this one just blows every other rally style car away. Nothing is more iconic than the WRX STI body, and it's a perfect fit for this chassis. Sickening! More on this thing soon.

Hey my dude! Thanks for your support, and yes, I always mention the fail-safe check for any new nitro model. In fact about 50% of the time the fail-safe isn't even set or its in the wrong direction which would result is a crazy runaway. More on this soon man, thanks!

hey man how you doing! Thanks for being here! The camera is the same camera I use in all my videos bro. IT's just a basic Go Pro Hero 8. Not even a terrific new one because I've been spending too much on nitro! ahaha. This whole video was recorded with it in various modes.

Great video! May I ask what went wrong with your Dynamite glow ignitor? I have the same one so I want to know what I can expect down the line. Also, from time to time, Tower puts that glow ignitor on sale. I've had several 'built in' battery ignitors fail, that's why I always carry a 'D' cell powered one as a backup. No one seems to be able to make a reliable one.
Im glad you noticed the Dynamite Glow Driver issue. Well I actually forgot the one I normally use why my friend, lol. But I will tell you that I have a second one which failed and so did my buddy's. We both have the same issue, the LED on top is green but the plug is not getting power. I have since been looking at all my old drivers and will soon make a video on them all. So far the top rated one is the McDaniel meter one. Sold on Ebay.
@@hybrid32494 This will make for an EXCELLENT video. Glow plug igniters are an essential part of our nitro gear. I used to run one with an external lipo but internally there was a design flaw so it failed. I would love to diagnose one of those Dynamite igniters to see what failed internally but I'll have to wait until mine fails.
I had one of those McDaniel glows but it was under the Tower Hobbies brand when Hobbico owned them. Yes, it worked fine until the battery failed unfortunately. Now that I'm more experienced in life, I would simply replace the failed battery but you would need a 'battery welder' which you can now buy cheaply unlike years ago. My backup is a Dynamite D cell powered igniter that has a meter but I think any decent C or D powered igniter will make a good backup. Nothing sucks more than having an igniter fail after driving 20 minutes to your bash spot with no backup whatsoever.

hey maybe u can answer this question, i tore mine apart and loctite just went thru it, noticed the lsn didnt look right, checked manual says flush like normal. i checked mine it was 3 turns out past flush. set it to flush on break in wouldnt start. set it back 3 turns out fired right up and idles perfect. did i get factory defect or is manual not right?
Hey dude how you doing it sounds like you could have misunderstood what they meant by flush, I noticed they always talk about the low speed needle being flush but it actually looks completely different on various manufacturers motors. I usually don’t even bother with what the factory setting is once you get it running you simply just tune from there.
i noticed before you used a dynamite lipo battery charger. did you get a new one and does this blue one in the video work better?
hey bro! Good observation on your part with the glow drivers. So I accidentally forgot my LIPO driver with a friend of mine so I've been using other ones I have. I think I will be working on a glow driver comparison video, that's in the works.

I just found myself a old ken block wr8 nitro for 205usd, it runs, needs to be cleaned, but comes with everything except 4x AA BATTERIES needed to run it

I added some zipties to the shock rod to help this thing from bottoming out (ghetto bumpstops)...what a nice mod!...good for smoother surfaces... otherwise its a great little car!

Hey D did u ever get to figure out the bogg down issue with the redcat earth quake 3.5 I’m having the same issue … I really hate redScat .. any suggestions from nitro gang would be greatly appreciated… I fully cleaned my carb by fully disabled and the 21engine fully disassemble and soaked in old fuel. The engine is NEXT TO NEW after my cleaning .. so I’m puzzled as to why it’s happening.. it is my only redcat and I HATE IT … love Hpi and os

hey bro, Yes I figured out and fixed the Redcat bog down issue. There is a video on it here. But let me just tell you, it's the carb itself. It's shit, needs to be replaced with any other carb from any other big block motor that will fit. The good thing about .21 she engines is the carbs from even the .28 are usually the same sizes. Once I randomly tried another carp the problem as fixed, truly sickening I know!!!

I went and got myself one 😂 ..only problem I'm having is it trys to run off on its own at full throttle, like it's got a mind of its own today it smashed in to a wall and snapped the front bumper and bent a shock shaft 😔 evan tried to save it by turning the transmitter off to hoofully activate the fail safe but nope flew off full throttle in to a wall.

hey man, let me answer you, this is a good question. To be honest ,they are totally different. This HPI is VERY Scale and has a nice little deep sound to the pipe, it's much slower than the Jato too. The jato is great for long top speed runs, this one is good for everything else.

@@hybrid32494 Tamiya has made a killing on reissue kits. I think other companies could too! People in our age groups just really want to relive nostalgia or have what we couldn't afford when we were way younger.
Especially companies that were huge pioneers in their scenes, Losi, HPI, Associated, Kyosho, etc.

Be careful with the heat gun you can deform the block and it will not return to its normal dimension. I suspect that my Savage has suffered this and that is why it loses between engine block and head.(Google translate, sorry for that)

hey buddy! I'm running 30% nitro in this video. Its my go to fuel and highly multi-purpose since all engines run well with it anyway. If you run RICH enough then worrying about high nitro content is not as important, you know.
