I swear, when it's 2022 and the Wii U is as old as the original Wii is today, this Mii theme will probably bring more tears to my face than the Wii's ever could, *especially* if post-Iwata Nintendo systems become like PlayStation/Xbox and don't have music at all.
One thing I appreciate about Mii Maker: If you wait for about 2 to 4 minutes on the shelves of miis without doing anything, one of your own miis will start moving on their own, and depending on which pose they're taking will determine what they'll end up doing. It's especially amusing to look at if you have more than 10 miis at your choosing.
Is funny to see them get scared and go back to being still when you start using your Wii U again, like if they are supposed to be statues but got caught moving.
One of the first things I was impressed by when I bought my Wii U was all the effort they put into the menu themes. This honestly makes me emotional, it's just so beautiful. Definitely the best Mii Maker theme.

This song reminds me of my innocent past self, preparing for a weekend filled with Mii making and Wii U games. This music is great, and will live on as a legend. Everytime someone mentions the end of the Wii U's lifespan, my mind drifts off to this song as a requiem for the end. Nintendo went downhill after Iwata's death. Nintendo themselves just isn't the same anymore. I just don't enjoy playing Nintendo games as much anymore. It's probably has to do with me getting older, but I just don't enjoy Nintendo as much anymore, but from the bottom of my heart, I will always love Nintendo for who they are. Thank you Nintendo, for building me up to who I am today, your company and Iwata will live on in my heart forever. Thank you Nintendo for everything. Thank you. It's nice to get a few things off my chest.
It’s not you growing up. The fact about iwata is true. Nintendo is near soulless now, the launch of the switch was promising but then it went downhill and they just lost their magic.
You were right. Not only was the Wii U’s death the true end of my childhood, but no console has had as much soul and personality after the Wii U. Just look at the Switch. Everything is minimalist and soulless. It’s heartbreaking.
The Wii U doesn’t deserve most of the hate that it gets. It has a bunch of good games, a lot of effort went into it, it has Virtual Console, and Miiverse was fun while it lasted.
also, with homebrew, Wii U is backwards-compatible with every single nintendo console before it. -And every handheld except 3DS and a large amount of DS. But I'd count that as more sideways-compatible.

I remember having a Wii U when I was younger, playing mario kart, 3d world at my friends house never being able to complete the second god damn world on super mario bros and making miis. One day my Wii U just broke down and it wouldn't work. It was just busted. I felt a little sad, cause the Wii U was a first and favourite console. This music gives me nostalgia.
I've visited the Wii U Mii maker only like 3 times... 'cause everytime I hear this song, it gives me flashbacks of my entire life and I instantly cry of nostalgia... **cries**

Such cool music, along with the Mii Channel music as well. It's a darn shame they haven't given any music like this with the Switch, both in the Mii Maker or the menu really..
The Wii U was just brimming with personality! As much as I love the Switch, I really miss what the Wii U had. I hope that the next Nintendo console can bring some of this magic back.
I remember getting my Wii U in 2013 with my dad and we ate subway and I was holding the giant Wii u box inside the subway in the mall. I was so excited that I unboxed it in the car when I still thought the Wii u game pad could play games without connection to the consol part 😭
0:46 Lyrics: We're making a Mii Today. It's gonna be a funny day. Let's choose some eyes and mouth, then your Mii is ready to play! Just put on a grateful smile, and some cool glasses. Then you make it tall or shorter, and now your Mii is created. Like if you like the lyrics :) Edit: After 5 years, I came back to polish the lyrics and fixed some grammars. Edit2: After 7 years, I came back yet again to fix up the lyrics to make it a lot more sense than before.
Nathan The Hedgehog good! I have an idea too: hello please make a mii And then make another mii because as you can see I am so very lonely (oh, what's this?) You can't transfer your miis from your old crappyly wii? well no problem start over again live the experience again! what do you think? (Your's is creative too i like it)
I forgot I had a tendency to save the miis of people I knew on Miiverse (yeah that was a feature). A few weeks ago I was going back through my mii channel and that was an emotional ride I was not prepared for
Even though I own a Nintendo Switch I still want a Wii U as I remember playing on my cousin’s Wii U. Edit 23/01/2024: I actually bought a Wii U in 2023 to relive that nostalgia and it is such a great system. I am also getting more games for it aswell
I remember a few months ago starting up my Wii u for the nostalgia. I looked back at all of the miis that I created over the years. They all looked absolutely goofy, like one being named “batonbaft.” I am a huge train fan as well, and I can associate this music to when my dad would always take me to the railroad yard watching the trains throw cars down into separate tracks lined up next to each other. This music just generally takes me back to older better times.
all i'm imagining is an endless, echo-y, white void maybe there's some gray boxes floating around, like original Wii menu channel boxes if they were blank, slowly fading in and out

Listening to this song has helped me stay determined and clears my mind of any worries. In case anyone is interested, I’ll post updates about how everything is going. I hope you all are doing well :3
I hope the Wii U gets loved a lot like the GameCube and the DreamCast in the later years. I love this console so fucking much! Its the second console I got (first was the 3DS which I got back in 2011). Got it in December 2014, I played on it everyday, even today! This console did so many good things like the Virtual Console, the eShop, the Mii Maker, Miiverse and make new games that'll eventually go successful and be ported on the Switch. Imo this console is the best ever console to this day. (my favourite as well!) Hate the Wii U all u like. U can't deny that this console made the Switch the console it is today.
they always said a company needs competition. and their right. Nintendo thinks that since their no competition they don't have to due anything special to make their console stand out. the switch has no competition since they aren't with Xbox or PlayStation. so they just made it really bland and unmemorable.. the reason they tried so hard on the Wii U is because it wasn't selling well and they needed to stand out. it paid off in the end Tho, my experience was great and i still use it to this day. The Switch is just lazy because of Nintendo choosing to not stand out. Nintendo can help us make good memories and be a good company. just during the present day they choose not to. They've become a bully and a monster taking down modders and events. it breaks the fans hearts. i hate this present day Nintendo
2006 to 2017 really was nintendo’s peak era. The charm if the Wii, Wii U and 3DS cannot be matched by any other console. I hope that with the switch successor on the horizon, nintendo can remember what made those systems so great and make the console charming and fun rather than corporate and bland. RIP Wii Systems and DS systems. You will not be forgotten ❤
When I clicked on the video I felt the same way when I played Minecraft after like 3 years,it brought back so many memories when I played Wii U with my siblings.Thank you Nintendo
Id like to listen to this more but every time I do i get really emotional because it reminds me of that Christmas morning when I got the Wii U, I wish I could go back in time.
Im back and honestly.. 8 years ago was just amazing, though im uspet they didnt add this music on the switch. So much has changed, including technology. Ive always missed the old days that i litterly listto this to fall asleep.❤
I played the Wu religiously as a child. Are used to live with my brothers and after we go to church I would always turn on the Wii meanwhile my brothers were playing PlayStation games in their room. by the time the Nintendo switch was released, some of the cases were lost, and I had problems charging the gamepad and I eventually got an Nintendo switch. This music brings me back to I had my whole family on the mii menu and played with my cousin. This music puts me in such an emotional mood
I found a Easter egg, if you are on mii making on the switch, and play this song, stars appear in the background of the switch! Though the switch doesn't have a mic, do the frequencies hit some circuit in the switch's script, causing this? Could the switch be sending out frequencies secretly, and waiting for the music to be intercepted?
The Wii U’s UI and music were wonderful I stg. Also miss those start up images you would get when you started an app. I’ve said time and time again, Switch just lacks that same charm, and feels more.. ‘corporate’, matching how Nintendo has just changed over the years, I’m guessing due to the absence of key staff...
Saturo Iwata was the person who gave the idea of the music, and now, with him not around, all of the memories are fading away.

Me too, I had a rage attack and I ended up breaking my gamepad's screen with my ps4 controller :(
Anyone here from that new Angelic the Caretaker album? The way he used this sample was amazing
I miss the wii u, it was never a bad console, and to this day I still cherish it
I've visited the Wii U Mii maker only like 3 times... 'cause everytime I hear this song, it gives me flashbacks of my entire life and I instantly cry of nostalgia...
**cries**
Mitchel Jansen Same!
I WANT MY WII U BACK WORKING SO BADLY!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭
ye i feel sad of nostalgia
@Katsu You're gonna be mad at me but, I had a rage attack and I accidentally broke the gamepad screen with my ps4 controller
@Katsu All that's left is the console, which I can only use with my wii u pro
Hearing this feels like im in a white room with beautiful clean white floors
THIS IS SO FCKING REAAALL I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT, I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT THE HEAVEN LOOKS LIKE THAT AND SOUNDS LIKE THIS SONG 💔💔💔💔🌷🌷🌷🌷💖💖💖💗 AND DURING THE HEAVEN YOU REMEMBER ALL YOUR GOOD MEMORIES 💔💔💖💗🌷💔
Such cool music, along with the Mii Channel music as well. It's a darn shame they haven't given any music like this with the Switch, both in the Mii Maker or the menu really..
Kurt DeMango yeah, that's too bad...
30 seconds into it similar to fairy fountain theme from TLOZ
alot of songs remind of fairy fountain :P
Or Water Land From SMB3
The Wii U was just brimming with personality! As much as I love the Switch, I really miss what the Wii U had. I hope that the next Nintendo console can bring some of this magic back.
I remember getting my Wii U in 2013 with my dad and we ate subway and I was holding the giant Wii u box inside the subway in the mall. I was so excited that I unboxed it in the car when I still thought the Wii u game pad could play games without connection to the consol part 😭
It’s sad knowing i’ll never be 7 playing the wii/wii u late at night with my brother and cousins again
Does this music remind anyone else of Super Mario Galaxy?
it does actually
+Trinal Fish I get more Dragon Ball, Clannad, and Fruits Basket from this than Super Mario Galaxy.
what the fuck same profile pic
+Trinal Fish uh...yes.
Yeah
Now I really miss my Wii U
Holy shit put headphones on and close your eyes and let your brain chase the music.
That's what I did and I felt like I was in another world, somewhere peaceful and soothing.
I don't have headphones but it must feel like heaven

Lyrics:
We're making a Mii Today.
It's gonna be a funny day.
Let's choose some eyes and mouth,
then your Mii is ready to play!
Just put on a grateful smile,
and some cool glasses.
Then you make it tall or shorter,
and now your Mii is created.
Like if you like the lyrics :)
Edit: After 5 years, I came back to polish the lyrics and fixed some grammars.
Edit2: After 7 years, I came back yet again to fix up the lyrics to make it a lot more sense than before.
Nathan The Hedgehog dude, send your lyrics over to brentalfloss so he can make a Mii Maker for Wii U with Lyrics
lifejunkie Got it!
***** ty :)
Nathan The Hedgehog good! I have an idea too:
hello please make a mii
And then make another mii
because as you can see
I am so very lonely
(oh, what's this?)
You can't transfer your miis
from your old crappyly wii?
well no problem start over again
live the experience again!
what do you think?
(Your's is creative too i like it)
Nathan The Hedgehog I write songs myself. and I love this one. I'm not gonna steal urs but I'mma make a song about mii's now😂 but fr rlly good
I forgot I had a tendency to save the miis of people I knew on Miiverse (yeah that was a feature).
I just hope the Mii's return to the Nintendo Switch.
Probably, due to Nintendo have put since Wii
Well Miis returned, there is no music in the editor though.
Wojciech Dziedzic yeah, that's too bad...
Dylkill i have a Nintendo switch boi
miis are big with even more options then ever
I remember a few months ago starting up my Wii u for the nostalgia. I looked back at all of the miis that I created over the years. They all looked absolutely goofy, like one being named “batonbaft.” I am a huge train fan as well, and I can associate this music to when my dad would always take me to the railroad yard watching the trains throw cars down into separate tracks lined up next to each other.
This music just generally takes me back to older better times.
Any kind of music like this reminds me of the sky.
Rhyanneduckling Reminds me of swimming in fresh clean water.
all i'm imagining is an endless, echo-y, white void
maybe there's some gray boxes floating around, like original Wii menu channel boxes if they were blank, slowly fading in and out
Obviously Super Mario Galaxy-inspired.
@@MarshtardOMGGGGG Y ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT, FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS IT 💔💔💔 I always think that the sky/heaven sounds like this song and looks like how you said 😭💖💖💖🌷 (sorry for my bad english)
I love how you can hear feint hints of the original mii maker music.
For real, the best Mii Maker of Mii Maker themes.
The Wii U didn’t deserve its failure. It was a great console and the only thing we could blame for its failure is bad advertising.
Wii U... You didn't deserve that underrated fate, we didn't deserve you... 😢
Man I forgot how beautiful of a track this is.
I still have my wii u, i use it very often.. but miiverse can't be brought back, even with mods like prentendo it won't be the same as miiverse. so this music is somehow still very nostalgic to me even when i can use mii maker on my wii u ever day
0:32 Is my favorite part in this music
I’m in my last semester of college and have been feeling very stressed lately. So far, I’m doing okay, but I’m really hoping to finish strong. Listening to this song has helped me stay determined and clears my mind of any worries. In case anyone is interested, I’ll post updates about how everything is going. I hope you all are doing well :3
any updates
@@waluigi-nk5iu So far, everything has been okay, but I’m still dealing with a lot of stress.
After rediscovering the Wii U, I swear the Wii U feels years ahead of its time, with its music and futuristic aesthetic...
It's like the Batman Arkham Knight of Nintendo consoles
I miss you Wii U ❤️🙏
2006 to 2017 really was nintendo’s peak era. The charm if the Wii, Wii U and 3DS cannot be matched by any other console. I hope that with the switch successor on the horizon, nintendo can remember what made those systems so great and make the console charming and fun rather than corporate and bland. RIP Wii Systems and DS systems. You will not be forgotten ❤
Perfect for a musical or Nintendo symphony
1:56 so good, I miss 2015 when I first got the Wii U. Brings back good memories.
Reminds me of Christmas 2013 when I first got the Wii U. Those were simpler times
I love the echoes in this soundtrack! I wonder how the Mii channel will be on the Nintendo Switch.
well on the switch you can make miis even no muick
When I clicked on the video I felt the same way when I played Minecraft after like 3 years,it brought back so many memories when I played Wii U with my siblings.Thank you Nintendo
Theres something in this music that makes me feel...
happy :>
This music and mario kart wii will forever be the best thing that happened to nintendo
Man this takes me back to when i was 11 and got this for christmas
OMG! Even though I never had a WII U in my life, this feels nostalgic and liminal! (And so does the Mii Editor Music for the WII U!!!)
The switch music is sad. Because it has no music.
The part with the cello sounds like a song from a Pixar movie, the nostalgia is huge for this one.
Thank you Mr. Iwata, this is late I know but R.I.P you legend :(
I was so happy and I didn't know it...
Dude, This is Awesome , It Reminds me of my Childhood, My Favorite game on Wii U is"Super Mario 3d World"😍
i have never ever owned a wii u in my entire life yet this makes me want to cry of nostalgia
i dont even know why is this nostalgic
it's sad that only some people know it
*Virgin Wii Mii Channel music VS The Chad Wii U Mii Channel music*
high five those who still use the wii u 🤚
Ayyyyy
Id like to listen to this more but every time I do i get really emotional because it reminds me of that Christmas morning when I got the Wii U, I wish I could go back in time.
Forever in my heart
Im back and honestly.. 8 years ago was just amazing, though im uspet they didnt add this music on the switch. So much has changed, including technology. Ive always missed the old days that i litterly listto this to fall asleep.❤
this lullaby is epic
nintendo, you did it again, you created a masterpiece
this console is so underrated, just the mii menu itself is so good. just not as nostalgic because not many people used the wii u
Thanks for uploading this!! 👌
MicroMexsus 2 it works
@@drko_116 That's awesome, I thought it was a myth, and I was trying to figure out how.
@@drko_116 Wait, are you joking or is this serious? That's really cool!
I’m not joking, once you do it I think the stars stay there forever,I I’m not sure because that’s what happened when I tried it.
@@drko_116 I'll have to try that. Thanks! :)
this honestly feels like when you get that one type of sickness where you just kinda feel like you’re in a weird but oddly calming dream.
Memories of making terrible miis would th friends to use in Mario kart 8 and smash 4
Tbh this is WAY better than the mii maker it has this tone that is just amazing and when the violin comes in "man I'm dead"
This song is my childhood, i am almost crying of this.
Same 😩😭..
Same here
Hearing this really feels different in 2024 💔
The sound of childhood :')
Bruh the Wii U is so fucking underrated, this brings so much nostalgia bro, good times
Iwatta?
@@suprxmefire9497 Yeah, and now Reggie
