Oh man this really saved me! I’ve had a page flip butterfly forever but it was only recently that I got savvy about Ultimate Guitar. I joined and have been setting up playlists for a few weeks getting ready for my first gig without paper. But there was no page turner connection until I watched your video. I’m all dialed in now Thanks so much for this tutorial!

Your article helped me to finally figure out how to use my BT-106. It does disable the keyboard. I'm going to see how this work "Some applications require the use of the keyboard to enter text or to interact with the application. Since the BT-106 is an external keyboard, the iPad or other iOS device by default disables its own virtual keyboard. To display the virtual keyboard, open any text box on the iPad, then tap in the text box to activate the cursor. Then, quickly press and release the power switch while the BT-106 is connected to the iPad. If you close the virtual keyboard from within the application, you can press the power switch again to reactivate it. This is a toggle switch so pressing it will toggle the virtual keyboard on and off. Note that iPhones may require toggling on the keyboard for each use." The Starfavor may have similar functionality. Lekato also sells what looks like the same device, I say this since I have other Lekato wireless gear that has all worked well.
I tried this, but no luck. Maybe I did it wrong. Can you link an article or describe in more detail how to accomplish this? It would be a game changer!

HERO! Thank you! Doesn't work for Pro and Official tabs, only "Chords", and must tap on screen one first time for it to start working. But still much better than nothing. I was about to toss my pedal into the river.

I purchased the PageFlip firefly and while I could get ONE preset to work with OnSong, it wouldn’t with Ultimate Guitar. Noticed other negative reviews for product seemed to be with iPad “pro” products??? Anyway, the learning curve was worse trying to learn guitar!!

i just got this , the only problem with this unit is that you can't use the search function on ultimate guitar , since it uses it as keyboard.
Yes, that is a drawback for sure. This could be problematic when trying to pull up new songs on the fly. It hasn't interrupted my workflow too much, since I usually play from a set list I pre-created.

Nice job! I’m not sure how I ended up with the exact pedal that you show here, but I was ready to return it because I couldn’t get it to work until I found your clip. You made that $50 work!! I just wonder how in the world you or anybody else is able to figure this kind of stuff out? Thanks again!
Glad it helped! Honestly, when confronted with tech limitations, I get this kind of feverish escape room vibe going, and feel around in every nook and cranny for SOME way to make it work. It's kind of a high in itself I suppose, and wonderful when it pays off!

Thanks to your video I have been able to set up the pedal very quickly. It works perfectly well except for one issue. Once I have connected the pedal, I am no longer able to use the keyboard in the search function of ultimate guitar. Means, songs that I have saved as favorites work well, but if I try to find an unsaved song, I am lost because the app simply does not react anymore. Have you experienced the same issue? Any workaround?
Hello friend, I have just checked again and there is no workaround I can find on the regular iPad. It looks like this feature is reserved for AirDirect connections. This pedal uses the Keyboard mode on UG Tabs.

Is that an Amazon/Kindle Fire Tablet??
Was excited to finally find a pedal to use with Ultimate Guitar. Set up went so well. Yes the scroll up and down worked. I shut off the pedal and the iPad. When turning on the iPad and pedal, the scrolling up and down did NOT work! Can you offer a reason/solution for this problem. Charger is flashing green which indicates fully charged correct?
I’m guessing you have to re-pair every time you turn on?

Perhaps the settings in UG Tabs resets when you reboot the iPad. Mine connects without issues still.
Hi Sam. Great video. I bought an iPad 2nd gen to use with the ultimate guitar app but it’s not working . Is it because the software is outdated ?

Mine is still working today! I have to tap on the tab once when it first loads for the page scroll to work.
Mine won’t work with Ultimate Guitar.
does it work with other s/w? Can you use it with song sheets I may have created myself or gotten elsewhere, and maybe had them stored in Dropbox? Thanks.
Hello Larry, I'm not sure.
Here's the long winded response: I think it relies on whatever software you are using to have the ability to program functions such as PAGE UP/DOWN, PAGE TURN, etc to buttons on the bluetooth footswitch. In UG tabs app, you can "assign" the functions to different pedals on the footswitch by pressing the assign button, then the footswitch button.

Can you get this to work with "Pro" or "Official" tabs in UG? I cannot seem to get my MouKey, which is basically the same as yours with a different label on it, to work with those ones on an iOS device. On Windows in a Chrome web browser it works for Pro or Official, but not on my iPad.
I’m in the same boat. Can’t find the Airturn enabled switch as they have changed the interface AGAIN 🤦🏻♂️ if you figure it out can you reply here please?!!
@@SamVecchio scroll down to find the airturn settings, the settings pop up is scrollable although it doesn't look like it. Although I have the same problem as @bbulla, Pro or Official doent work
Also I have to tap on the screen first for the scroll to work

I have the 10.2 inch ipad from a few years back, and it works great. I have used my friend's larger iPad pro a few times, and that's even better, especially when it comes to sheet music.

Yes, still works. A little annoying that I can't use my on screen keyboard while it is active, but I can live with that. Works great at my retirement home gigs.
Thanks but since this is set up as a keyboard you can no longer use your device keyboard to search Ultimate Guitar Tabs which is a fatal flaw for me.
Yes, it's a bit of a drag. Have you found a better solution, or just dish out for the Air Turn pedal?

There seems to be a lot of variability in the user experience with these pedals. Based on this review (thanks, btw), I tried this specific device on the ipad 6th gen and could not get it to work. Now I'm trying again with a Donner pedal on ipad 9th gen and having difficulty there too. It's hard for me to understand how this is not a mature, easy-to-use technology by now. Seems like just winners & losers in a crap shoot.
