i feel like sometimes he’s not being sarcastic at all (in the video where slim cuts his hair per or the one where they celebrate their marriage/birthday per example). also the way he looks at her shows everything. it’s very subtle but it’s there and it’s meaningful, i'm genuinely so happy for them.
Thank you Slim for reminding us that healthy love STILL exists. And it's extra reaffirming for me personally, because I grew up (and still am living in) in a home with parents who are so loving and nurturing towards each other. It's been over 25 years, and the love just keeps growing.
Some people say marriage takes away from you as an individual and feels like a trap, and honestly, it's only because they haven't seen a healthy example of what marriage is like.

I do believe that healthy good love in a marriage can and does exist. I haven't been fortunate after 32 years I had to accept that my mister chose to have his dad's energy.
I've seen that in my parents too. In hindsight that became dangerous as I assumed all were that way. My marriage is not.

When you talk about your past I get confused because you don't look older than 21 😂 It's so good when good people find each other, marriage is a beautiful thing. We've been conditioned to see marriage as a prison when really it offers so much freedom for self exploration and growth. It isn't for everyone, but if you find someone where there is mutual respect and values in this current dating climate, grab ahold!

You may change your mind when you get older. Sometimes that happens. It happened to me. However, you may maintain that position as you age. I would just recommend be true to yourself. If you honestly don't want it, hold fast. It's nothing like having a child and not wanting it. It's hurtful to marry a man and not want him. So take your time. Live your life and seek God's direction. He will never steer you wrong!

@@milankoprivica5981 Culturally and socially, race effects peoples lived experience. Especially life in America as a darker skinned woman with very curly hair. We live a similar experience of how we are treated and I am proud to see her overcome our shared obstacles surrounding self love/acceptance/what she talks about. People of any skin color struggle with these topics and can be inspired, but as Black woman, she has are similar experiences to mine of how her issues manifested societally. This is a big question though and if you really want to know you should look up a short video on critical race theory or videos on race in general.

As a Christian watching this, I just want to say I’m so proud of you! I tell God “I’m so sorry for being so ungrateful for my singlehood seasons! Cause I don’t think I’m ready for marriage! I don’t know if I even want it anymore!” All because of a pretty painful experience I had with a guy. I think it’s all about right person and right timing. Cycles happen from families and it really has a strong influence over us and our future but it’s important to address these issues as soon as possible so we can break the generation curse and actually have a chance at something potentially beautiful. The new generation will set the better standard. Having a love like Jesus, really is that Light in my life that fills my heart with so much hope and love and desire for transformation. I’m glad people around the world are being blessed by the little blessings that God has given us such as marriage and children. The devil will not steal it away from people. Growing up I've never seen an example of a good marriage and relationships and my parents got divorced when I was 15 and since then I was certain I won't get married and hace kids. When I was 21 I went to therapy and worked on that a lot a d still working on changing my mentality of the idea of marriage and relationship. I'm not in a relationship now but I want to and praying for that which is amazing for me!
Learning about your story and seeing your relationship and the way you talk about it gives me hope and really makes me happy for you and your journey!

It’s so crazy how you said everything I say to myself word for word. Ive always felt like I could never be in a relationship because every relationship I knew was lying, cheating, how much you could endure. I never understood how that could be a life I’d want to live. It definitely affects how I interact with men because I never see the reason to go any further. For me it’s still 90/10 if I’d ever get married 😂

Hey there! This video was recommended to me, and I'm glad I clicked. I don't plan on getting married or having kids, but I love to see other people happy. I'm the only child, love my alone time (and I don't trust easily and I keep a safe distance, but that's another story). And I'm also the cheerleader type that supports my girls who decide to walk down the aisle and have kids (I'm auntie lol, mom's self care is important to me). Just because it didn't/doesn't work out for me doesn't mean that's the case for others. It's not for everyone, and at this point in my life I fall into that category (and made peace with it). I gotta watch this again, I really related to some of the things you were saying. Thanks for sharing your story, and I look forward to watching more of your videos.

I’m an exceedingly proud Black woman, but I also believe I deserve every good thing coming to me and that comes to me because I’m a good and decent, hardworking human being. PeriodT. I’m so glad you’ve come to the realization of deserving and accepting good.

I think all these stories are tad melodramatic. First one needs to work on him/herself. Then start dating but be prepared for rejection. And just because you are black woman, doesn't mean you should try instantly non black men. Race must come first.

Hey idk if you’ll remember this but like 3 or 4 years ago I came across your vids because I was crushing on a Serb lol. I love this video and the optimism it brings! Basically Covid happened and we remained friends half the world away, then went back to school, I studied abroad, and then traveling after that I literally stayed with his parents in Belgrade and met his childhood friends. When I got back to school (college senior now) I in person finally shot my shot and asked him if he was open to go on a date. I was rejected but in a really nice way and we are still friends because I really enjoyed our friendship regardless of my feelings. And he is texting me while I’m watching this video 😂 one of my besties. Anyways, as my quirky aunt, I thought I should share it with you, and remind myself that things might not go how you plan, but life is still pretty great and will work out 😌

I completely resonate with you. The majority of adult relationships I saw growing up were not healthy. The relationships amongst my peers were so full of drama. I was like I’d rather be single for many years rather than to be with somebody just because.

True talk slimas. Want to get married to someone I can be myself with and won't get annoyed loving them or being around them. I like my quality time alone I'm an introvert, and a mother of 2 girl babies. It would be nice to find the right one already but I'm not going to kill myself over it. Came back from a marriage course today, and learnt just sooo much, all praise and thanks be to Allah,The One True God. Today was about basic laws of divorce according to Islam and we also learn about conflict in the marriage...it's really important to understand the people around you, especially your husband and one thing that was mentioned over and over was be human. Simple😂. And allow him to be as well, don't say things like" that's awkward " 🤣
