      I absolutely LOVE "JOHNNY DOLLAR"
and the matters that he had to
attend to.Bob Bailey is the best "DOLLAR" !
You might also like the 1949 production
of " PAT NOVAK FOR HIRE " !!!!!!!!
JACK WEBB. as PAT NOVAK , is
      Pure genius !!!
Yes, JACK WEBB did much prior to
to his SMASH hit , "DRAGNET " !!!
JACK WEBB , with his STACCATTO
      "MACHINE GUN " wit , comebacks ,
and voice overs really capture the essence of " film noir and the late 1940s.
      Examples of JACK WEBB'S wit . . . . . (.I'm paraphrasing )
"She pulled up in a cream-- colored
      Packard convertible ; Brown LEATHER
INTERIOR.I could smell the fragrance of RICH LEATHER, standing here on the sidewalk.
She wore Mid-night Blue Velvet V-Neck Dress that looked as if it was her second skin : the DESIGNER Believed in CAPITOL LETTERS. "
"Dancing with her was like tap dancing on the dance floor COVERED WITH DYNAMITE CAPS !!!!!!!!!!!!! "
      Furthermore, INSPECTOR HELLMAN
is played by RAYMOND (PERRY MASON ) BURR .
      No love lost between HELLMAN
and NOVAK. INTENSE , caustic interchanges
      with those two .
PAT NOVAK FOR HIRE , is about the blues, deep dark exchanges with man's frailties , lusts and desires..PAT NOVAK FOR HIRE takes place in SAN FRANSICO , replete with "Fog" , "FOGHORNS" , SHIPS , THE BAY AREA ,THE WATERFRONT and more.
JACK WEBB/PAT NOVAK ,has a good friend who know Pat Novak more than Pat Novak knows himself.
" JOCKO MADIGAN" is a retired doctor
who "holds court" in seedy bars on the waterfront and bars throughout San Francisco.
Streetwise with " his ear close to the GROUND " , Jocko stays abreast of
      stories the papers won't print.
And, in his own IRISH way ,loves
PAT, albeit begrudgingly at times because NOVAK is so hardheaded
There are the classic footsteps-- leather heels on concrete streets and sidewalks.
      The MUSIC IS B L U E S !!!!!!!
BEAUTIFUL, SULTRY SLOW JAZZ/ BLUES accented with THAT SAX !!!!!!!!!
Check it out . . . . PAT NOVAK FOR HIRE with Jack Webb , Raymond Burr
      and other HOLLYWOOD actors.

I have two of the 1940/50's AM FM SW radios shown above. Also amateur radio SW transceiver with which to yak-yak to others in the world via radio telephone SSB and my favorite international morse CW. My hope is no war will cause the amateur radio to be an important news tool. God bless us all.

Mid 50s radio ... Bob is awesome in this role! I wonder what rehearsals were like going through the script? To get that natural voice giving dialogue?

The first thing that happens be cause of the intoxicating effects of most types of gas is that it manages to completely incapacitate you. You become numbed, but really to such an extent that you cannot lift a limb. That makes it extra dangerous. I am speaking from experience, it happened to me. The gas involved came from one of the smallest types of bottle used on campings, a type of bottle (tank) that allows for a gas cooker to be screwed straight onto it. These types of appliances use either butane or propane, or a mix of the two (comparable) types of gas. That was my luck, as the little tank ran empty on its own accord. Even so, I remember it took me about 15 - 20 minutes before I could move in a manner sufficient to actually reach the place my cooker was in the kitchen, which was adjacent to my room/living with no doors inbetween the two. I was so lucky indeed it was a small one, cause a bigger tank likely have killed me. And all be cause of some leaking. I don't know as precise how toxic or dangerous gas that comes through gas lines is. One of the types of gas that's being supplied to homes the most is 'Natural Gas' that in almost all countries of the world is being pumped out of the ground in a manner comparable to oil. Natural Gas is not very toxic. It however often contains Methane, which IS a deadly gas. Methane is being formed as a byproduct in biological manner through fermentation, for instance when organics are being recycled. Sometimes Methane is used as a replacement of Natural gas. Since the eighties also Liquefied Petroleum Gas has increasingly been supplied to households for their heating. Apart from possible chemical toxicity, there is another aspect that makes some gases much more dangerous than other types in practical life and that is the fact that some types, for instance butane and propane, are HEAVIER than the air, and will form a cloud that keeps hanging close to the ground! So if you are sleeping and rather close to floor level, it may incapacitate you the way it did me.. (Same by the way is a well-known fact about CO2, carbon dioxide. Not toxic in itself, except for it the levels become too high and it actually starts replacing the breathable air. People that explore caves, and periods that work in silos where for instance cow manure is stored (and fermented) can easily lose their life (and often do) when CO2 and I suppose Methane has replaced (nearly) all oxygen up to a height that goes above their own. Natural Gas is lighter than air, and therefore will first form a layer close to the ceiling and only gradually start nearing the height at which you might breathe in higher concentrations. However scary is being supplied to your home via gas lines might be NG, PG, Methane, etc. Most of these gases don't give off any noticeable smell on their own accord. That is why many are mixed with a substance that WILL produce a smell that humans can detect sufficiently well, and these odours are even chosen to be specific add slightly different dependent on the type of gas. There is one more interesting little fact to know about different types of gases ~ and that is that they require different types of equipment (cookers, burners) that is specifically tuned access designed for them. That is be cause the amount of pressure required to transport them varies a lot per sort, and also the temperature of the flame they produce when you burn them varies a lot dependent on the type of gas. Ciao, and my pleasure!

Frankly, I have little patience with martyrs. If he's so determined to go to jail ... let him. It sounds all romantic but this isn't love, it's obsession and stalking. Ask any contemporary famous person what it's like. It's not pleasant.

I love Johnny Dollar but this 5 part episode is one of the weakest. I mean, Johnny wasn’t conked on the head once. I thought the writers were required to give him at least one concussion every week . But it included the two great Gunsmoke actors Parley Bear and Howard McNeal, so it is still enjoyable.

What creepy writing. Stalker embezzled $4200 from his client to impress the woman he's stalking. Then she decides THIS stalker isn't a bad guy. He was just in love with her. And none of the other creepy guys took it this far before. So she pays off the stalker's debt so he'll turn his criminal life around, stop bothering her and find a nice woman to settle down with. And Johnny wonders if he might have stalked her and stole the money if he was in the same place as mentally unstable Sheldon. YIKES!!
