I did my own irrigation system using the same orbit b hyve timers you have. For the heads I used the ones that go under ground. Last fall I experimented with putting one of the zones under ground using the wilton thinline trenching spade this fall I plan on doing another zone.
You know I do have a trenching spade too 😂 I just have to start writing down my plan I need in ground for sure! Can’t let the b-hives go to waste 😂😊🔥🙏🏾🤙🏾
First I wanna say I enjoy ur humorous videos dude, u r funny af. Then u need a back door to ur back back or side of ur house so u get there quicker lol , then a high flow hose for the sprinkler so u get more range outta it, just some thoughts , cheers my dude... Keep it up !

Well, your dominating on a budget. Luckily enough the house I have came with and irrigation system and just plan to change the heads to have a better spray pattern hitting less concrete. Otherwise, I'll probably be doing exactly same as you. Reading the comments, folks really want you to dig, I'd dread that also by myself. You seemed to be a decent handyman, you should definitely consider installing your underground irrigation yourself (Rain bird or Hunter).
Would be a great content for your channel and with the proper tools (small trencher), it would be doable in a weekend just by yourself.

Facts. I did my front yard last year and learned so much. Will be doing my backyard this year. It Would be great content for your channel. But do it in early fall at this point since u will do some damage to your lawn in the process.

I really like those orbits, I use 2 of them for my odd shapped yard in front of the house.
But I really like my 4 Gilmour 996d sprinklers they got some range on them and cover my front side yard and back yard with ease.

Get some 1/2in irrigation funny pipe and do a zone at a time. I used Rainbird 5000 and 1800 sprinklers and just did it a little bit at a time over of a couple years. I still have zones that are connected to garden hoses using PVC adapters and using the Orbit B-Hybe hose bib times. Get the zones in then worry about valves and controllers later.

Take a look at Irrigreen irrigation system. You could do your whole yard (front and back) for around $3k. It is also way more programmable than the orbit one you showed in the video.
Irrigreen is like the Swardman of irrigation systems. The grail.

I was going to get one of these but was unsure if my water pressure would be sufficient as its just a bib tap coming from the kitchen sink through the wall. Got the orbit h20-6 and it's great.
Nice yes orbit makes awesome above ground equipment! I would say this unit compares to gear drive shoots 25% less. It’s not bad 😊🤙🏾🔥🙏🏾
Interesting product. I might have put it closer to the fence so you only have to adjust the length on one side and set it for a half circle. Just my thoughts. You are an ingenious dude. And your lawn is picture perfect. Plus, I've been thinking about your set up with the Orbit H2O heads. That just might work for me if I extend my rock landscaping out a bit further. A soaker hose might be worth a try out the back back! Can peg it down and leave it in place, connect to a hose with tap timer pretty low budget and low effort setup haha!

I'd hate to see how much irrigation systems are anymore... so glad that I decided to have one installed a few years ago before everything went up in price. ~7k sq ft and 10 zones for $5500. Not too bad imo with how much I use it

@@YardBrah Save for one, it's so worth it! At least if you plan on staying there for a while. It also does a great job at scaring off animals 🤣. I get a lot of geese in the back from having a pond. So whenever I see one in my lawn, I get my phone out to turn on the zone 😂. There won't be any goose eating my KBG
I'd say some irrigation pipe and sprinklers along the fence that could swing up for use then back down when not in use.

maybe put two sprinklers with popups at either corner and have the head sit just below the fence line. then it will popup over the fence and water the back back. you could even hide the hose under the lip of the top rail. might be worth it.

FYI: I did my sprinkler work and with 4 zones I have less than $1000 in it all. The cost is all in the labor, parts are nothing. I bet some you tubers would even help you out.

Did you have problems with faucet leaking when the sprinkler timer is attached and during non- watering times?
I put plumbers tape and tighten down with a crescent wrench 🔧 it doesn’t leak anymore, only when I hand tighten will it leak 😊🔥🙏🏾🤙🏾

After the first 24 hours of soaking your seed, you are supposed to just rinse it every 12 hours, not keep it soaking. I couldn't tell if you still had it soaking or not.
Yessir def rinsing it everyday! Debating, cause I’ve seen it soaked for 5 days with frequent water changes and it germinates and I’ve also seen it where they soak 24 hours rinse and add it to milorganite in a wheel barrow and let it sit before planting… I’ll make the decision soon 😂😊🤙🏾🔥🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
