I think you'll like the update we have coming in around 8 weeks :) New armor system, Cursed dungeons, Weapon Enchanting, Combat overhaul, Town/NPC overhaul, Procedural underground cave system, New Animals, a million bug fixes, tweaks, and polish, the list goes on.
We're working very very hard on making the game better and better. I really appreciate you covering it!

I bought this after you showcased it, I thought it was nice but a little empty. I've come back to it recently and I'm impressed with the changes the devs have made. I look forward to getting back into it after I've finished my latest Graveyard Keeper run.
Same here - latest version is great and I trust the devs to keep improving it with their roadmap - strikes a unique balance between relaxing gameplay and exciting exploration/combat.
It's a fun game and exploration is fun. That pool down in the cave is good for fishing. I played through all the conet a few months ago and had a lot of fun.
This one's made some dramatic progress over the last few months, and recently devs have improved communication about their ongoing activity. Game's still a *little* dry but enough fun that I've started paying attention again.

I've had my eye on this game for a while! A little annoyed that UA-cam didn't show me this vid till now but... what can you do. Will for sure pick this up when I get the chance. I love casual building/crafting games like this seems to be. And sailing too!

Crashlands did craftable materials so well. Literally zero effort required. Wish more games did that when the setting allows for it. It doesn’t have to be far future only, any game with magic elements can work in an infinite inventory.
This game caught my eye for sure! But like everyone said in the comments, it's too empty. I'm just waiting for 1.0 to see how it pans out. Cool concept thought and very interested.

Looks like the town has been remastered in the version I play, don't have to build houses for npc's unless I didn't discovered it yet 🙂

That was a lot of talk about hot slots, but then again, who doesn't love a nice, hot slot every now and then?
I think that combat like in Children of Morta would benefit this game a lot.

Perhaps Len can embark on a quest to find the mystical potion of hearing restoration. Damn Splat you put out so many videos and with my hearing loss getting worse it's so hard to get through them all. But damn it I will try my very best. The game looks have a nice soft look to it, kinda reminds me of something else but I can't place it.
Oh man i loved item management in resident evil4! The cache case you got to fiddle around with and rotate all your items and tetris them in. Ah the good ol days! Res 5 was okay with it as well
Do you have a Steamdeck? If so, would you ever consider a brief section in your videos based on your preliminary findings on if the game ran well on the SD and any issues or obstacles you may have encountered?
I think you'd benefit from this as I always encounter on Steam Discussions "Does it work on SD?" followed by dozens of "I'm here because Splatter..." So you could easily double dip on that realm with your findings.
Agreed! I usually try to leave my own review saying works or doesn't work on SD but would be nice if splatt did a plug on it

100% agree. There is a site called ProtonDB that has user reviews of games on Steam Deck and it's really accurate. How I discovered Guild Wars 2 runs wonderfully on it! Problem being, something like len's Island has 1 Steam Deck review from a year ago.

Splat, I've played it through to completion and there is a different biome for caves, there's a desert themed dungeons to explorer but they are a little further on into the game

I've become a huge fan of 'podcast games'. it's nice to have something to keep your eyes busy when listening to stuff or doing voice chat.
@@killerluuk Now mostly informal scholarly commentary like 'partially examined life' or Very bad wizards'. I used to listen to everything on the Earwolf improv comedy network but they had something going on in the last few years and aren't 100%awesome as they once were. 'Hollywood Handbook' is still an underrated gem though.

I am also OCD about my game inventories. In WoW I always keep an empty slot by my fishing pole, so when I equip it my two weapons, or weapon and off hand will be next to each other in the inventory, right where the fishing pole belongs. :D
i am so annoyed at the amount of good games that are on the market right now but even like 10 years ago finding decent survival games was extremely difficult.
it's like all these games flooded the market and i lost most of my interest for this genre over the year.. hopefully my interest returns one day so i can go balls deep once more.

Im purchasing and playing this game soley on the fact that Len does not wear shoes and the options are no, or hell no. Hell yeah, people need to wear shoes and boots less i say

Looks ok but price is steep and no multiplayer (these games are almost always better with friends) is a big letdown for me.
My only gripe is that the game stutters like crazy

It looks much better now. Probably had half its features just a few months ago. Let's hope it becomes something good.

I really wish devs would get away from the snap building. It feels lazy. "Here's a bunch of legos, you build a thing" when I want the Cyclops from Subnautica. Comon devs, show us YOUR asset creation abilities, I don't want yet another wood floor or wood wall tile to build a box base in.
Agreed. I do like semi or soft snap though. Kinda like valheim.
I prefer games where you have the option to turn on/off the snap building feature.
If you like RPG game you should buy this it was stared 3 yrs ago by 1 man in his bedroom and has a passion for building a game. Support a good independent developer please! It is a awesome game.

I played this around Christmas 2022 and I wasn't a fan. Building/crafting was unsatisfying and a bit buggy, dungeons/caves got repetitive pretty quickly, it became boring fighting the same 2 or 3 creatures over and over, and boss combat felt super unbalanced. With the first big-boss fight, the game went from casual to souls-like, 4-or-5-hits and I'm dead, and the death penalty was too steep.
3 bed, 4 bath? Who puts in more bathrooms than bedrooms? 😆

Inventory tetris is one of the main reasons I play DayZ,.
In the nearest future AI will generate thousands of these games in a few clicks, they are all the same, have no idea and soul.
So you donate resources to build the town, build the blacksmith a house for no return AND you still have to pay for weapons from the blacksmith? I'm not into communism simulator. also, its 2023, any game that has equipable clothing and armor that is not modelled on the character model isn't finished as far as I'm concerned. That is one of those alpha features that makes a game feel half baked if it isn't included.
