I have started flying with a new CFI in a Skyhawk and this new plane I’m in has a glass cockpit. The screen shows me everything. It gives wind, wind speed, tells me how much I’m crabbing, and even shows me when I’ll reach my altitude in a climb. Glass is better than steam.

Absolutely! Glass gives you way more information closer together. I’m happy I learned on steam first though

I think the more detail the better. I love glass. The precision glass brings is unmatched by mechanical

I learned on steam gauges, but you don't find that much anymore in professional aviation. So, IMO the sooner you can gain proficiency with glass, the better.

Hey Luke could you make a video on what made you decide aviation colleges over an accelerated program I know you have some videos I’m the past about it but I would like to see a more updated video because I really don’t see the benefit to going to a college in this market.

great vid as per usual Luke...since I learned to fly way way back in the day across the ole border up here in Canada...I learned on steam gages on PA-18s, 150s, 152s and 172s so that is what I was used to....how do u find the glass cockpit screens during the day ... does bright sunlight tend to wash them out? Like airline glass cockpits do your class airplanes have a few stand by steam gages as back up?

Hey Paul! I haven’t had any issues seeing the screens during the day and we get quite the sunshine. Not a single steam instrument in these cockpits. Our backups are Aspen units. Will show this off in some future vids!
